How many miles/days/weeks for those results, short trips are real engine killers especially in cold weather, it will fill the catch cans with more moisture/oil/unburnt fuel ??(Fuel dilution), as it does not have enough heat or time to burn off/evaporate. The catch can itself is an expansion/cooling chamber, being away from engine (unlike the OEM PCV system) and very likely freezes on cold mornings.
Good question. Haven't done many long highway drives at all within those 3000 miles. It's been about 5 months in that time. Very heavy stop and go driving and short trips of only a few miles. I keep this vehicle garaged so it's rarely kept below freezing overnight.
I have my truck on order....and already have my catch can. It’s an inexpensive item that can potentially save in the long run. What’s $40 for a little peace of mind?
Exactly, for this price, any potential benefits to longevity are worth it. Now as for those $200+ cans with custom brackets and other stuff, not worth it.
Thats just contaminated water (condensation). Catch cans dont reduce carbon buildup in gdi engines. That water would be burned off in the pcv lines thats how the systems are designed.

Maybe they should add that on as an option, money weel spent,
Hey mate, can you guide please where did you exactly install the catch can? You will get a free subscriber.😊
@@Dopamine1217 check out this video I did on my initial install and thoughts th-cam.com/video/gZSa_STMKfc/w-d-xo.html

Is this just a problem with petroleum oil or does it happen with synthetic also ?
@@robc.5745 it can happen with conventional or synthetic oil, it's just the byproduct of the combustion process and direct injection
Hola buenas , de que año es el coche y de cuántos km has hecho con el cach can?
