I see this is 2 years old but here is my 3 cents for any new people. My wrangler has the same type of injection. I now have 100550 miles on it and have never added anything aftermarket in the engine bay. When I went to do the spark plugs at 100k I had to remove the upper intake. I used a borescope to look into the engine ports and spark plug holes. All the valves and pistons were fine. They did not look like they had 100k on them at all. The bores still had like new cross hatching. I run Techron in the tank at every oil change and use a top quality synthetic from valvoline called restore and protect. Now I did notice a lot of oil in the upper intake, and in the throttle body. Showed pictures to the techs at the dealer and they said its normal to have it there.

@@sweetvictory3100 here's a good TDS meter on Amazon: amzn.to/4emgMCG it basically measures how many Total Dissolved Solids are in your water, that includes chemicals, lead, fluoride, minerals, chlorine, whether they are good or bad. A reading of over 200 from your tap water is already considered very high, and I have closer to 500, which is bordering on unsafe, and is also very hard. Reverse osmosis purification brings it very close to zero, which is what you want for clean water. I'm not too worried about filtering out good minerals because we usually get most of our minerals and nutrition from a healthy and balanced diet of food. I've used a Brita filter before and it barely reduced my TDS, maybe by 20 or 30, so that barely does anything. The TDS meter will also be a good way to verify if you need to replace the filters in the unit, by seeing that the TDS is not reducing as much as it should.

I'm posting this multiple places in an attempt to understand what might be causing a particular issue. When water sits in the glass carafe for several hours and some water is poured out, a ring (band of water) often remains at the previous water level. Each subsequent pour seems to create a new water ring. Despite thorough cleaning, this ring persists on the side of the glass carafe and can only be removed with manual scrubbing. Is this a common occurrence? Could it be due to manufacturing residue, inadequate filtering, or some other reason? Interestingly, pouring water over this ring does not remove it. It's quite baffling, and I'm concerned about whether it's safe. Support has suggested that this is due to surface tension, but that explanation doesn't seem to fit. It's as if the water were metal filings and there was a magnet on the glass causing the filings to adhere to it. But in this case, it's water sticking to the glass. Could it be some kind of residue in the water causing it to stick to the glass? Has anyone else experienced this with their carafe? I'm seeking a clear explanation. Thank you. Just adding extra note: If you're interested in seeing a photo of the problem, you can find it on Reddit under 'Reverse Osmosis - what is this clear ring'.

@@frontier_etc Thank you. Despite scrubbing with baking soda, vinegar, and soap, the issue persists. I have a replacement glass carafe arriving soon and will check if the same problem occurs with it. Recently, I conducted an experiment: I left regular untreated tap water in the carafe overnight to see if it would leave a peculiar water ring. Surprisingly, it did not. Then, I replaced it with RO water again right after dumping the tap water, and yes a ring formed with the RO water again, albeit more slowly, appearing after about 8 hours instead of the usual 30 minutes to an hour. I'm uncertain of the implications of why the tap water did not leave a mark but will update once I test the new carafe. Also, I've posted a photo of this on Reddit under 'Reverse Osmosis - what is this clear ring', in case you missed my edited message.

Im buying one. A 20 midnight edition. 3.8 9 speed. It currently has 40k miles. They asked around 27 but im getting it for 23 after everything. So being 23 I like it. Any advice for it being reliable or issues (as of 2024) would be great. It's got 18 rims/tires so a bit more hight which i need. I plan on towing a bit as well. How's the 4X4? Unfortunately it's only a 5 foot bed and push button which I'll have to deal with unfortunately. How's the sound system should I upgrade speakers? Etc. Sorry for the paragraph.
