Out of all the Chibson reviews I've watched, I'm looking forward to seeing yours the most. I trust you and value your opinion. If someone orders them for a ridiculously cheap price someplace, then fine. No harm, no foul. But, when a high end collector gets one, it becomes crime of the century. You can sit around and complain in videos showing that the pickups aren't great, or the bridge isn't the exact issue that should be on it, but, the bottom line is that it says "Gibson" on it. If it fits the gig you're doing (and again, if you got it cheap), I doubt someone's going to come up to you while you're playing and say; "Hey, my friends and I don't think your Les Paul is real."
Hey Troggie! note the wad o wire viewed through your lower f-hole of that Epi. Rockcats got a problem of too much wire soakin up the tone. They benefit from a professional rewiring. Tone comes back and they're great guits.
A cheap Mosrite knockoff with really hot pickups. You're welcome! Seriously though if Kurt Cobain hadn't used them they'd just be another forgotten knockoff.
Bellocks1 Yes, in 1990 he used one. Near the end of his career, his guitar tech was going to make him one since he liked it so much, but for obvious reasons it wasn’t made. More than 2 were made, but it is still a very rare guitar
Aneurysm thanks for the clarification. I heard many tales about the Gospel, such as only the owner and Cobain ever had one of them, while it was never explained how it got into Kurt’s hands. Never trust the internet lol
YES! I can’t wait to see your review on the uptown Kat! I’ve been ES shopping for a while and was really interested from NAMM videos but I want to hear those pickups or know if I can easily replace with p90’s before I dove off into it and there’s not much info on these out yet. Love the show man
Honestly I was expecting a heart cause I was disappointed with the guitars you unboxed this episode... But that epiphone knocked it out of the park! They are killing it this year! Great video anyway thanks for the hard work.
the guitars with a sentimental value are the best, my mother bought me a 1987 marlin k34t sidewinder when i was 17 years old (it was £150 which was way way over my budget at the time haha). It started when i saw it hung up in my favourite guitar shop, somehow it stood out from the rest to me, for months I'd go in that shop just to look at it and see it was still there, i spoke about it lots until one day it wasn't hung up there anymore, but i didn't let it get me down because i knew i was broke, however little did i know my mum got it for me for that christmas, i was shocked and amazed as i had only spoken about it, never showed a picture but she knew exactly which one! and since then it has been my go-to gigging guitar!
When i was a kid my father got me a tokai les paul he promised me he will get me a real gibson lespaul 11 years later he got me it and i dropped it 5 minutes later a chipped the wood on the body xD luckily no neck break or anything but i will keep this guitar forever its priceless
I don’t know if you will see this but if you do , I bought a jimmy page les Paul in 1996 from guitar center and when I bought it I didn’t know any better and neither did the guy selling it but they gave me the regular brown les Paul case. Not till years later did I realize I should have gotten a special black page case. I have the guitar center hangtags and stuff but it kind of makes me mad now lol. If you ever come across that case can you let me know ? Thanks a bunch.

Yes Mr. Trogly, I have been an Epiphone man for many many years. I have a WildKat 2016 model. but that uptown Kat is a beautiful thing. the wildkat has a bigsby. I'm glad epiphone has got your attention..AT LAST.
Weird with that first guitar they didn't also abandon the body shape with the decision not to go headless. I imagine it is a bit neck heavy and there would be less surface area to finish by filling in that vee part of the body for a starters. Even if the headless design was not appealing, just to put a headed neck on a strange body is even less appealing.
IF you ever sell that chibson, I wanna buy it off ya :P Been wanting a double neck SG of ANY kind for a while, but dont have the budget for a real gibson/ even the epiphone ones for 1 grand are abit much atm.
Try a Harley Benton. You can get them on the Thomann website for around 500 bucks they usually need a fretjob and better electronics, but the wood is a solid base from my experience. Ships from Germany tho, so maybe a little tax on it.

Also Schecter guitars are awesome. Never had a bad one and I have 6 of them from new to going back to 2007.
Maaan, I had a Schecter Diamond Series Tempest BlackJack (not the ATX model) for a couple of years about 10 years ago. Had the Jack and Ace of Spades inlaid in the fret board at 12th fret, bound body/neck/head with Seymour Duncans in it. I kick myself for trading it away. I gave $350 for it used on a Craigslist buy. I think I remember thinking the neck was just a tad too thick for my liking, but I still wish I'd kept it. It was a quality piece. Very dark tone with lots of ass in its pants.
Hey Trogly what was that ESP off brand called that made that Jazzmaster copy? I saw it in your Edwards mini LP video but couldn’t see the name of the website
Any interest in a 1994 Fender Strat 40th Anniversary Edition? Awesome guitar. Great finish. Original owner. Had one of the pots replaced about 10 years ago. There’s a loose connection in the positioning switch. Hard shell Fender TSA case....since the airlines broke the original case.
Interesting... My guitar teacher had a black Corvus with 2 HBs running through a Peavey Studio Chorus 212 . At the time I had a Schecter Strategy T shaped object and a Peavey bandit 65. 35 years ago... Wish I'd kept the amp.....

Wow the Red and Gold Epiphone is to die for truly beautiful, the Chibson double neck, I wouldn’t have known that, looking at my screen anyway.
Hey Troggie! note the wad o wire viewed through your lower f-hole of that Epi.
Rockcats got a problem of too much wire soakin up the tone. They benefit from a professional rewiring. Tone comes back and they're great guits.
You think you could review a Univox Hi-Flier? They’ve always seemed interesting to me and I’d love to get one
I had one they're pretty good. Sounds pretty unique
A cheap Mosrite knockoff with really hot pickups. You're welcome!
Seriously though if Kurt Cobain hadn't used them they'd just be another forgotten knockoff.
Didn’t Cobain use a Gospel of which only 2 were ever made?
Bellocks1 Yes, in 1990 he used one. Near the end of his career, his guitar tech was going to make him one since he liked it so much, but for obvious reasons it wasn’t made. More than 2 were made, but it is still a very rare guitar
Aneurysm thanks for the clarification. I heard many tales about the Gospel, such as only the owner and Cobain ever had one of them, while it was never explained how it got into Kurt’s hands. Never trust the internet lol
It is interesting to see that the Chibson is a truer Jimmy Page copy with the extended harp section between bridge and tailpiece.
Great video anyway thanks for the hard work.
damn, the double neck does look pretty good. no doubt there are probably small issues here or there but no to shabby..
the guitars with a sentimental value are the best, my mother bought me a 1987 marlin k34t sidewinder when i was 17 years old (it was £150 which was way way over my budget at the time haha).
Moms are the best.
The “Gretschiphone” looks pretty snazzy in the red you have I l’ll have to try and play one sometimez
You know it’s a Chibson if the headstock didn’t break.
Jimmy Durex I couldn’t resist 😂
God that was so funny and original and creative. How low did it took to come up with that all by yourseld
Hey trogly, I'm happy you got a sponsor, bros gotta pay the bills 😎😅👍
bros gotta buy the expensive camera equipment! haha - finding that Gibson Jacket was a huge plus though!
That wildcat epiphone in red is 1 of the nicest guitars I've seen
i'd imagine the double neck having more surface area to distribute the force of the fall probably helped.
When i was a kid my father got me a tokai les paul he promised me he will get me a real gibson lespaul 11 years later he got me it and i dropped it 5 minutes later a chipped the wood on the body xD luckily no neck break or anything but i will keep this guitar forever its priceless
Chibsons rule. With Gibson hardware, proper pickguard and trussrod cover, I LOVE mine.
The wood on the '93 sure is nice.. No surprise it sold instantly.
That was my Chibson that I donated to science. Let the autopsy begin!
Are you going to sale the Chibson, cause i am interested.
What do you think of the law suit Ibanez les Paul’s? I have the blank headstock model and love it.
BamaBluesBoy2 I have a Penco and for the money it’s better than most other les Paul’s I’ve played
The headstock logo on the Uptown Kat looks like a pair of tighty-whities.
It's called the Bikini logo!
I'll never look at it the same lol
@@moonchild4806 Wow, such a strange design aesthetic.
Jesus that epiphone finish is awesome!
The American pronounciation of Jaguar is correct, as Jaguar is a Spanish word, and "ua" is said "Aah" in Spanish, not "yew-ah" For instance the Spanish named Juan.
Very interesting...….
Yes Mr. Trogly, I have been an Epiphone man for many many years. I have a WildKat 2016 model. but that uptown Kat is a beautiful thing. the wildkat has a bigsby. I'm glad epiphone has got your attention..AT LAST.
OK, looking forward to the Schecter. I really like their stuff.
hey mr trogly how many guitars do you have in your personal collection ?ie. not for sale
Green and gold on the epiphone looks sooo good
Guess what,
I got a fever, and the only prescription
is more Trogly's Guitar show
Weird with that first guitar they didn't also abandon the body shape with the decision not to go headless.
I imagine it is a bit neck heavy and there would be less surface area to finish by filling in that vee part of the body for a starters.
Even if the headless design was not appealing, just to put a headed neck on a strange body is even less appealing.
the semi hollow epiphone killed it! love from philippines
IF you ever sell that chibson, I wanna buy it off ya :P Been wanting a double neck SG of ANY kind for a while, but dont have the budget for a real gibson/ even the epiphone ones for 1 grand are abit much atm.
Been wanting one to play live for fun, and to not be worried about trashing it. :D
Try a Harley Benton. You can get them on the Thomann website for around 500 bucks they usually need a fretjob and better electronics, but the wood is a solid base from my experience. Ships from Germany tho, so maybe a little tax on it.
@@freshtea228 yeah I've seen em before, the import shipping n such just doesn't seem to be up my alley. Thanks for the tip though! Who knows maybe I'll end up with one anyway haha
hey, if you aren't planning to destroy the chibson or anything, i'm ok with having it, half my fun with a guitar is working on them and learning about it, I can also say the thing would stick with my till either I did or it kills itself.
If I were to ever buy a Gibson USA guitar (unlikely) I would get an Epiphone case for it. That way if you’re walking around, it’s way less likely to get stolen.
How much would you possibly sell that Chibson for, or how much do they normally sell for? As long as it plays well, I would LOVE to have a guitar like that!
Lol he cut it up
7:27 you should put that sticker on the door or somewhere in that room
I enjoy your demos and would love to see some Epiphone demos. What they compare might to on the Gibson side, how they sound and how they are assembled, pickups, weight, just like you do with the Gibson guitars. I'm not looking for an Epiphone but I watched your Glarry demos and I wasn't looking for a Glarry either. It is all good solid information and far better than anything on TV. Rock on!!!
So. You’re going to separate the double neck right?
im actually very hype for that chibson ep
on the Jaguar...it's not the pot it's the capacitor that makes the tone....
You opened the case and I was not expecting the double neck hahaha
11:09 why has the nut pushed to the left on the 12 string side is that what happened when it knocked over?
Show-worn shirts! Gonna wanna know which episodes! 😉 Document! And we’re gonna want hang tags. 😂🤣😇
Just don't do a blacklight test haha🤣
how do you keep the camera balanced on top of your head?!?! 😆👍🎸 cheers
gold is made with adding brass flakes to the laquer. that neck is going to flake and look horendous if you sweat, and if they made the gold color as gibson used to. it turns green
Thats not how all gold paint is made.
@@jordaneimer2873 No its not how ALL gold paint is made.
I might be gunning for that Corvus. I wanted the futura bad but couldn’t afford it at the time. I love weird Gibson. My current bass is the parts bin that is the Q80
I got a 1982 Schecter Strat, i've played others and they feel great but i just couldn't bring myself to buy a modern one. The Omen, The Damian ect,. Not my cup of tea but the strat is something else and the maple neck on it is stunning, anodised pick guard Seymore Duncan singles 2 x A5's and an A 4.1 in the neck and phase switching , it's a bit special.
Wow that Epiphone looks great. Vintage vibe for sure.
My wife has an Epiphone Wildkat with a Bigsby in Chicago Blue Pearl. It's a great guitar but a little heavy for a hollow body.
1:03 A month into 2020 you say? I bet it's going to be a great year!
If you're looking at the Corvus as a player, as seen in the video at exactly 2:14, it looks like a Goldfish Cracker. You know, the snack that smiles back! Even the jack hole is perfectly placed for the eye. You won't unsee it. Apologies. Now, if I only had a grand lying around...
I like the fact that Padpak paper was used to pack the shecter case :) I fix those machines for a living
Epiphone headstock is dope!
This guy has the most weasel-like laugh I've ever heard.
Yeah but I like it though aha
No, what he has is the best overall attitude and presentation manner in the business. Speaking of business, I'm willing to bet the Trogster is on the pharmaceutical industry's hit-list. If allowed to continue, he's gonna put the whole Xanax wing of the industry out of business. The laugh works, Trog. I wouldn't change a thing.
If you re-sell a new guitar?
is the Gibson lifetime warrenty still in efect?
Along with my Gibsons, Fenders and other makes I own a fake Strat and a fake Rickenbacker 4003 bass - and tho not exact, are perfectly serviceable and fun to play - if you want to replace parts - they are great guinea pigs - the snob appeal you rely on to pay your mortgage is the thing they leverage and headstock candy is what we are really talking about. That double neck was still likely 7-800 bucks all in so ya, it's ok for the to make your copy if the logo says Squier - just not Fender......
I don't even play guitar and I find this channel entertaining. You just have such interesting guitar. And I used to play guitar as a teen. I just never got better and gave up.
Only channel that gets a like before the video even starts. Good work, Trogly
Nice video! But i got a question...
What do you think about Harley Benton guitars?
I have a buddy that was selling me a “real Gibson Firebird” but it turned out to be a fake CHIBSON! Haha... I felt so dumb and really disappointed...:(
Anyhow If you’re interested in a video of it let me know....it is a one piece and looks “real” at a first glance but the poor decal was a dead giveaway. Anyway, just a resource for you....
Your channel rawks. Seems epiphone is kicking it up a notch. My Snow Falcon is pretty dam good for the money. I got a great deal on it but if I had paid $900 the price it was going for I still would have been happy with it. So I decided to order the Tommy Thayer electric blue guitar.
I'd buy that chibson off you easy! that thing is wicked!
Jag-you-are 😂🤣
Al-you-minium 😆😁
Hey Trogly what was that ESP off brand called that made that Jazzmaster copy? I saw it in your Edwards mini LP video but couldn’t see the name of the website
That Epi is awesome, beautiful guitar
