Unfortunately, as of August 2024, this new Summer Blue Ploprof reference has still not been shipped to our local (Scottsdale) Omega boutique. I owned a stainless steel 2009 Ploprof 1200M and currently own a titanium post-2016 Ploprof 1200M. Both were on the shark mesh bracelet. The titanium Ploprof is my favorite dive watch and has aced out Panerai, Grand Seiko, Doxa and Seiko dive watch references in my collection. The size is a non-issue for the titanium because the watch is perfectly balanced and the lack of weight (compared to the all stainless steel iteration) makes one forget the mass of the watch. The original Ploprofs were black dialed and too severe. The newer Ploprofs offered color variations (mine has a grey dial and an orange bezel) which are anything but severe. There is only one Ploprof and it is hard for me to conceive of another dive watch that would give me the combination of history, engineering and performance which the Ploprof provides. I wear my Ploprof to the office with long sleeved shirts with French cuffs and a tie and it fits in as perfectly as when I wear it with more casual clothes. The idea that a Ploprof is not wearable everyday is nonsensical to me.
Sorry, I don't get it. At 8:15 what time is it exactly? The minutes hand at somewhere around the 10 o'clock position and the hour hand between 2 and 3?
Stunning and interesting looking watch. However, one wonders why they didn't just use Grade 5 titanium and include a shark mesh bracelet with it like they've done on previous Ploprofs. The titanium would make the watch much lighter and more comfortable on the wrist, and it would make it more comfortable in both cold and hot conditions, as titanium conducts less heat and cold than steel. Still a great watch though. One more thing, this watch has been seriously delayed, possibly due to problems with metallurgy and/or machining problems relating to the new steel they're using. Omega already has plenty of experience machining Grad 5 titanium watches and components.
What I would like to know is why they changed to a two-piece crown construction. It makes setting the time more complicated and is just another possible break-point. Having only seen the watch thru a glass case at the Planet Omega event, the watch is a looker, and though I have the previous titanium version and love it, the size is a touch smaller horizontally and that is not a bad thing.
I just got the new titanium with white dial and blue bezel model and I love it! But I swear it took almost 2 hours to swap out the mesh bracelet for the rubber strap. Also, the night I bought the watch, one of the spring bars popped off the folding clasp causing the watch to fall onto my tile floor face down. Yikes!! But no damage could be found. That's a tough watch!
Iso requirements do NOT require an HEV. Omega likely used an HEV because the crystal is not screwed into place. So, while this is a chunky diver Omega is still cutting corners with ridiculous HEVs. Contrast this with the Omega UltraDeep which is iso rated for saturation diving (to 6000m) yet does NOT have an HEV….

Just got mine today and I'm in love! Way more wearable and comfortable than I thought considering its size and weight.

Excellent video! Subscribed.
I like the old school with the date

Could you be more specific about the delays? Only info I had was "available from Nov 2023".
The lack of a proper minute hand and a proper clasp make this absurd
Thank you for the very nice review, I am going to add this watch to my watch collection.
(You talk well..)
You're gonna try! 🙂 Did you see one in the metal yet?
Hey, can you tell me what’s the weight of the omega? I saw the other ploprof is 170grams but I don’t see the weight of this one… thank you
182g according to the Omega website. Haven't put it on the scale yet, but the feel is comparable to the Ti version.

as much as the ploprof was my 1st love for this brand... i ended up getting an ultra deep Ti. 😅
A beauty of a piece, more wearable
@@spittinvenom9843traitor….
Love this watch. The price is insane.
Could you please also share the weight of the watch? Being so massive and made of steel instead of titanium, weight is a very serious concern. Thanks!
182g according to Omega.
Am I crazy - or would these hands (in standard black / orange) look fantastic on a titanium Blancpain Bathyscaphe 43?

What about the floor? Did it survive?
@@allydea Thankfully it did. Just barely. 🤣
Also tell me the price

Is the HEV cheaper than a screwed in crystal?
Love it..! 🩵 Greetings from Germany.
My grail watch and officially on the list for it. Just need to find financial means to buy it one day
Did yours arrive yet?

Fantastic job with this video
If it's so well made why do the hour and minutes hands not line up ?

Bellissimo
ISO requirement means the lume colour needs to be different.
I like to see this in different colour than blue and sadly, it’s over priced today.
It’s so ugly it’s cool
Why? Because only Omega can
Eine schöne Uhr. Der Preis ist grotesk - geradezu obszön
like the original one look more
Why no chain metal bracelet? Why no orange minute hand?
Why does Omega keep fucking up?
30% too expensive this one
OMEGA slipped - previous models have better body -only the dial is nice...............
Slimmer overall. Monobloc like original, too.
@@lia4191985 Are you saying the new ones are monobloc like the 70's originals?
