Someone who runs a hardware store and knows all the stuff in there and what it's all for and how you use it, is an unsung hero in my opinion. I love it when I can go someplace and explain what I need to do - without knowing the proper names, and the person understands what I am talking about and gets me what I need, or suggests other ways of doing what I need to do. Legends.
I love Ace Hardware! I always tell everyone I have to go to Ace and find the old man with the glasses in the hardware section! He is the Oracle and knows all!
The best part is that the video not only introduces the tool but also guides from preparation to use and maintenance. This helps viewers better understand the product and make the most of its capabilities.
Great video. I was trying to explain rivets to my 23 year old son. He asked why they didn't just weld instead, and I explained to him that some things need to flex and move. Thanks for the video.
I love Ace Hardware vs the HD or Lowes. At Ace, you get great customer service and a knowledgeable person helping you out. Even giving lessons like this. They may be more expensive but you'll get treated right without chasing someone down in the big box stores.
Great video! Always love ACE Hardware. They are personal, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thanks for helping me figure out how to complete a riveting project.
Simple advice. Worked just as in the video. I had a riveter and two boxes of rivets all 30 years old. Never used it before, someone gave them to me when I helped him move an industrial printer from a storage locker. I stuck it into a random bin at home and never used it till today. Low and behold the riveter and rivets were Ace Hardware brand, just like the video. How about that.
thank you, my wifes 2007 prius has speakers that are riveted in, I drilled them out and now I am going to replace the reivets to keep an OEM look. thanks
Now I gotta go out and get some corner bead cause I learned the holes are supposed to be filled with rivets. I told them tapers they were full of hot air! Awesome video my main man!!!!!
Found a New never been opened Stanley Rivet gun like the one you featured at an Estate Sale for $8. Never used one before now I'm getting all sorts of idea on what I could do with it. Thanks for the video.
Thanks, man. I always wondered how rivets work. I'm planning to go see about an old 70s aluminum camper shell in the next day or so, and it's clear in the ad photos that some of the roof is detatched. I was trying to think of how I would go about closing her up so that wind doesn't catch under there and tear her apart before I can fix her properly. Rivets seem like the way to go; maybe with a few thick beads of silicone or liquid nail
Great explainer video. Thank you! The part that showed the compression of the rivet when you squeeze the handle helped me understand how a rivet gun actually works. Heading to the ACE in my neighborhood today :)
I have seen these around for so long. My dad used them all the time and had so many rivet guns around. I always could never figure out how it operated. I feel dumb now, lol. But great video.
I am a homeowner with a day job who does not do anything construction related for a living. That being said I am working on framing out my basement and Bought this th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt gun. I have done a few walls already, have probably shot a couple hundred nails through this thing and have yet to have a misfire. It works awesome, good depth on every nail if you have your compressor set right. My literal only complaint is that it is a bit heavy and my arm can get a little tired especially whrn I am nailing at odd angles. That being said I am super happy with it and would buy it again. Hoping the old girl allows me to get my whole basement finished out!
This is the best explained video I have seen, I looked at Arrow who supplied mine and their video is really poor as I did not understand how it works, great Ace thanks
The part of the rivet that goes into the rivet gun is called the mandrel, and the part that stays in the material is called the rivet body. It is also important to use a rivet that meets the material thickness. I sell rivets, and it's important to get the correct rivet for the application.
Water leaking into my golf car via speaker on side panel of car door, the seal needs to be replaced, plasticspeaker held in place by rivets, worried that after sealing speaker with mastic, that danger of cracking speaker with rivets??
I just ordered the Loki+ this past weekend along with the new Mani 2 and hope to get them by this coming weekend. I've been EQing my music since the 80s and I don't care what others think. I like what I like! I might have to try the Bellari on my living room's system some day.
Great video! Now I know how I’m going mount my Starcraft emblems to my 14’ aluminum boat! I already have the gun and rivets just didn’t know how to use it properly
super helpful thank you. bought one at a garage sale and had never used one before, great tutorial. what if you have 2 thin pieces of material to join, are there rivets that leave less sticking out the back? can you use an angle grinder to shorten the nub on the backside, or is the pin essentially pulling the metal tube up/into itself, so cutting it would release the tension and the hold?
Thank you sir !. Never used one but my grandfather did in World War Two !. So I’m very excited to learn this as he did …..well in a way lol anyway thanks !. Best regards sir !. Jamesh.
