I would like to explain the verse recited at 11:04. The word forelocks is not a very accurate translation for (نواصي- nawassi) a more accurate word would be foreheads.. As a Pharmacist and a PhD student in neuropharmacology I can tell you with certainty that humans capacity to process information and make decisions is the function of the frontal cortex, which sits directly under the forehead. Thus, this verse is telling us that we will be judged by the decisions we made with our frontal cortex ( نواصي- nawassi) and what we committed with our limbs ( اقدام- feet)
I hope this makes sense. Truly, this verse always gives me chills throughout my spine.

cortex is understood more now, however I’m not sure how that would relate to “marks?” Daniel, I think was on to something that perhaps we are seen by our sins/deeds. Ibn Kathir doesn’t discuss “their marks,” but states something further, who I trust as he is more knowledgeable than me. He references another as saying forelocks and feet mean a sinner will be grabbed by the forehead area at the top
of our body and the feet at the opposite end of our body (perhaps folded) and tossed into the fire that way… similar to
how we may grab a stick at opposite ends and snap it to throw it into a fire pit. God knows best. I read it on this cool app I have found where you can actually click on detailed “tafseer” (discussion) for each ayat (verse).
It has made my research on ayaat so much easier where I don’t rely only on my naive interpretation.

The brother from Muslim Lantern has started a tafseer class (explanation of the Qur'an) on his channel, you can find the series in playlists of the channel so I would recommend you to try watching the first episode with your dad. It is very beneficial and easy to understand, and what is very important is that the brother explains the methods and foundations before going into explanation. You can divide it into several parts if it is too long for you to react to the whole thing, but I think it is definitely something you should watch and listen to.

I have an answer to your father’s questions about Surah Ar-Rahman, and for whoever fears standing before his Lord there are two paradis, that is, a heaven in the afterlife and a heaven in this world of peace and happiness of the heart.

Assalamualaikum! Amazing and touching recitation.
1. The marks on the faces of the culprits refers to the states in which we will be raised on the day of judgement. Those who will be entering paradise will glow/shine while those destined for hell will be darkened. Nothing at all to do with our worldly appearances.
2. Two gardens either refers to two gardens within paradise or two levels of paradise. (Paradise has many gardens, and people will be placed within them according to their deeds in this life.)
3. Rose coloured sky refers to skies that will be red on the day of judgement.
Really enjoyed the video and the conversation you and your Dad had.
And to add, them being dragged by their forelocks is referring to disbelievers being dragged from their frontal lobe area, which is where our executive function and decision-making occurs. So it's symbolic that you will be dragged by the place where you made the decision to disbelieve and commit evil deeds. May Allah protect us from being amongst those people.

When Allah SWT said two gardens he was describing Jannah. I think "In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni " means that in Jannah/Heaven you will have multiple options of pure companionship ,meaning that you will have a spouse in heaven.
A great relationship between the father and the son and the respect they have for each other is great to see
If your father is a Christian, let him listen to the surahs in which allah
mentioned Jesus Christ, peace and blessings be upon him, such as Surat Maryam, Surat Al-Ma’idah, and Surat Al-Imran.
Answers to your dad's questions:
1. The verse about the marks on the criminals and the punishment mentioned is talking about what will happen on the Day of Judgement when they stand trial, this verse and those after are talking about the Day of Judgement and what will happen to the criminals. The verses before it make it clear, jinn and humans will not be asked about the sins because everything they did is already written and it is time to be held accountable.
2. The verse mentioning the two gardens is reffering to the believers, the ones who will be successful that day. They gained that success by fearing the station of their Lord, meaning they knew who Allah is, they believed and had God consciousness (taqwa) which is what led them to pass the test and attain the reward, the gardens reffers to the reward (jannah).
Note for you brother Daniel, Allah swt is not in Jannah, it seems you were confused on that point as well.
allah is the lord of the worlds, surah fatiha, therefore heaven cannot contain him, he is above, on the throne

That line about the two seas meeting but not transgressing always gets me as a sign. The medittarean sea and the Atlantic ocean when they meet at the Gibraltar Strait they dont actually mix but rather flow into each other maintaining their individualities. I always wonder how can you know this without actual tests of these waters which were not possible at the time the Quran was revealed. Then in another Surah where Allah(SWT) is talking about Salt Water and Fresh Water instead of a transgressing boundry he uses the word forbidden boundary meaning that these waters do not flow into each other and there is some kind of barrier between them. AND Guess what Eustaries actually do NEVER mix!! Their water form a lateral boundary with different salinity gradients that keeps the Fresh and Salt water seperate.

On Nasa's Kepler Mission "Kepler-16" was found, it is a planet with two sunrises and two sunsets, there are 245 letters from this verse to the word "earth" and the distance between this planet to our Earth is also 245 light years, moreover there are 229 letters from the word "star" to this verse and this planet also takes 229 days to orbit its stars.
The word "mashriq" is taken from "sharaq" which means "to rise".
"Mashreq" means single (sun) rising.
"Mashreqain" means (double) sun rising.
"Mashareq" means multiple (sun) rising (37:5).
HD 131399 Ab planet have triple sunrises and triple sunsets. Today we know what it is, it is a multi-star system.

The answer is a multitude of answers, the Quran is a miracle sent to every land and every time. Some will think marks through “Kassass” (Arabic to Justice through the Eye for an Eye), or some divine mark as “Disbeliever” itched in the forehead of disbelievers.
But this verse talks abour criminals And my own understanding is that Criminals will be known by looking at their faces, the criminals will be in visible disarray knowing that this is judgement day and indeed they will be judged on their actions knowing exactly that they will be in Hell for eternity.

It occurred to me by the will of Allah while watching this video, that " the two gardens" are the one in the heart while still in this world and the other being the eternal paradise of the here-after.

We're always trying to be happy or seek that inner paradise by accumulation of wealth, but no it comes from believing and obeying the Creator.

The exact translation of the verse " the stars and the trees prostrate" anajm in Arabic means a star or a tree without foot ,.so the Exact translation is ( the trees with foot and without, prostrate)
2 sunrises & 2 sunsets :- Meaning:- Every sunrise is a sunset in opposite area. Every Sunset is a Sunrise in opposite area. So total 2 sunset & 2 sunrises.
