Quran is meant to be understood rather than be considered a melody. It's simply a message to mankind.

Hi guys. I discovered Omar Hisham 2 ramadans ago by chance. I’ve trained my two boys (9 & 7) from an early age to listen to me recite as the fall asleep. However, my wife who reverted right after that Ramadan loved his voice and now they sleep every night to his voice and ask me to sit next to them and recite along. Btw my wife is British Polish Catholic and took her 12 years to come round alhamdu lillah ❤️❤️❤️

Closing eyes means they did not read the verses being recited. The Quran is meant to be read and understood.

'Both of you ' refers to humankind and jinnkind. Both creations of the Most High. This reciter is very popular in the west but this isn't the traditional way because of the singing parts. You will find many who don't like his style. Woman also recite but you won't find many of them on TH-cam because of the modest character of Muslim women. Traditionally the voice of a woman is also seen as part of her beauty .

Beautifying the voice of a woman is considered part of beauty not the normal voice. And whether Qur'an recitation is part of that or not has difference of opinions. And Allah knows best. So that's why you will find some women reciters on TH-cam or Insta.

Ar-Rahman means the Most Merciful
The Arabs in pre-islamic and post-islamic periods used to converse in poetry with perfect rhyming. The poetry could be one hundred verses and they could memorize it without any problem. Amazing. That's why their culture was transmitted orally without any omitting. That's why the Coranic Surates and their Verses were in poetic composition to meet the Arab's way of communicating.

Omar Hisham is indeed my favourite reciter. And this Surah, Ar-Rahmaan is actually a favourite for many people, including myself. That verse is kept repeated so as to remind us of Allah's endless grace and love and most importantly, His blessings. Glad you both are enjoying the recitation and feel it with your heart

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ الظُّلُمَاتِ وَالنُّورَ ۖ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ 1
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light. Then those who disbelieve equate [others] with their Lord.
هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ طِينٍ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰ أَجَلًا ۖ وَأَجَلٌ مُسَمًّى عِنْدَهُ ۖ ثُمَّ أَنْتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَ 2
It is He who created you from clay and then decreed a term and a specified time [known] to Him; then [still] you are in dispute.
وَهُوَ اللَّهُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَفِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ يَعْلَمُ سِرَّكُمْ وَجَهْرَكُمْ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُونَ 3
And He is Allah, [the only deity] in the heavens and the earth. He knows your secret and what you make public, and He knows that which you earn.
وَمَا تَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ آيَةٍ مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ 4
And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they turn away therefrom.
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِيهِمْ أَنْبَاءُ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ 5
For they had denied the truth when it came to them, but there is going to reach them the news of what they used to ridicule.
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَا لَمْ نُمَكِّنْ لَكُمْ وَأَرْسَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِدْرَارًا وَجَعَلْنَا الْأَنْهَارَ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهِمْ فَأَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَأَنْشَأْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا آخَرِينَ 6
Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them which We had established upon the earth as We have not established you? And We sent [rain from] the sky upon them in showers and made rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their sins and brought forth after them a generation of others.
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ كِتَابًا فِي قِرْطَاسٍ فَلَمَسُوهُ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ لَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُبِينٌ 7
And even if We had sent down to you, [O Muhammad], a written scripture on a page and they touched it with their hands, the disbelievers would say, "This is not but obvious magic."
وَقَالُوا لَوْلَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ ۖ وَلَوْ أَنْزَلْنَا مَلَكًا لَقُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ ثُمَّ لَا يُنْظَرُونَ 8
And they say, "Why was there not sent down to him an angel?" But if We had sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided; then they would not be reprieved.
وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَاهُ مَلَكًا لَجَعَلْنَاهُ رَجُلًا وَلَلَبَسْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَا يَلْبِسُونَ 9
And if We had made him an angel, We would have made him [appear as] a man, and We would have covered them with that in which they cover themselves.
وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ 10
And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by that which they used to ridicule.
قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ انْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ 11
Say, "Travel through the land; then observe how was the end of the deniers."
قُلْ لِمَنْ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ قُلْ لِلَّهِ ۚ كَتَبَ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ الرَّحْمَةَ ۚ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ 12
Say, "To whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth?" Say, "To Allah ." He has decreed upon Himself mercy. He will surely assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt. Those who will lose themselves [that Day] do not believe.

Today is Monday. Just this past Friday night, i couldn't sleep and decided to listen to Quran recitation. I searched Quran on Spotify and found a Quran for sleep playlist. This was the first recitation on the list. I absolutely love it. Alhamdulillah. I opened my Quran app and followed along to this and 2 others before falling alseep. The next day I listened and followed with another one, and asked myself, "how could someone listen and read and not believe?" 🥹💖

The Qur'an comprises the words of the creator of all things, but discerning this requires the appropriate tools. Allah has already stated that the Quran originates from the creator, yet much of humanity remains unaware. The issue lies in mankind's ingratitude, hence the chapter Ar Rahman. If people were grateful, they would seek the means to comprehend HIM, thereby realizing two truths: firstly, that words claiming to be a miracle cannot be translated, and secondly, they would witness the miracle of the Qur'an. However, the ungrateful disregard knowing their maker, indulging in mere consumption and pleasure🍁 وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنَ النَّارِ🍁"And We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them aimlessly. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire.
In fact, We hurl the truth against falsehood, leaving it crushed, and it quickly vanishes. And woe be to you for what you claim!

I noticed I could be wrong. Every time one of you is touched by something or is fulfilled in a positive way by what he hears. That one of you takes the other out of his beautiful experience and destroys everything beautiful. Personally a great example to take a good look at who your friend is. Because it affects how you view life. Or you have a friend who lets you grow or takes you down a different path and lets you wander. Even though deep down you want to follow the truth.
Those who has doubts about Allah Almighty, is good to listen to it
The Quran emanates a frequency to be calm, stress free, and relieve any anxiety. It is the true antidote.
Also when quran refers both deny is taking about man & jinn(saitan) different creation of Allah(swt).

This is one of the most unique & powerful chapters in the Qur'an.
- it's the only chapter that directly addresses BOTH humans & jinn (without getting technical for non-muslims, jinn are what in the Western tradition you would call 'spirits' (ghosts, poltergeists, even some of what are deemed UFOs/aliens are in reality jinn))
- the jinn respond to this chapter upon hearing it, that's why surah Rahman is used when dealing with issues relating to evil spirits, black magic, the occult etc (playing it aloud in one's environment is part of this treatment protocol)
- there's even a prominent medical doctor in Pakistan, Dr Muhammad Javed Ahmed, who has treated patients with different types of diseases (including terminal issues) using surah Rahman with remarkable success (there are lots of videos of him on TH-cam but only in the Urdu language)
- & yes women recite the Qur'an too

God Is Speaking To Humans And Jinns When He Says "Which Of Your Lord's Blessings Do You Both Deny"
Jinn Live In A Sort Of Shadow World, Their Are Good Ones And Bad Ones. An Easy Way To Imagine Them Is That They Are Ghostly, We Believe It Is They Who Possess Humans (Demonic Possesions)

One of the points of the sourah is that if your not a Muslim you are denying, cause it’s mentioning stuff that you can see around you and asking do you disbelieve in god, after establishing that part it’s moving towards warning you about jahanam(hell) if you believe you have to be Muslim, than it goes to the reward in jannah(heaven), if you don’t deny than worship god the way he tells you to. If you are not doing so in the way Allah subhanhu wa taala tells you then you are a denier of the blessings. It’s not enough just to say that you are not denying

Beautiful vocal recitation. It is an art form. Any autotune in there? Nice reverb settings ;) It can be appreciated as such, apart from whatever spiritual quality some would like to ascribe to this. It feels transcendent, and takes us out of our personal state of woe. There is merit in all forms of contemplation expressed in all languages: Arabic, Hebrew, Latin, Hindi, English etc. All languages can express ideas about the Natural world. No language is sacred, in my opinion. Each is able to express transcendence. Good on you fellas for giving these recitations a spin and observing.
