Both my parents have passed. I am 57 now and alhamdulilah I treated them well, I still cry when I remember some small incidents where I could have done better.

I went through a deeply wounding journey when My beloved Mother developed Dementia and eventually Alzheimers. Taking care of her through the difficult times was the best thing that happened to us. The love between us and our Mum grew and eventually our Love for God. I pray that everyone who has a sick parent gets a chance to experience such love❤

I was born and raised by a single mother. She was my dad and she is also my mom at the same time. She has to bear the responsibilities of both a mother and a father. I just called her after watching this video and it turns out that she needs me now, I'm comiingggg mom.

Just something that always stuck with me: my mother hasn't always fulfilled her role towards me and my brother in the way one would eject and I had a lot of anger and resentment towards her and my grandmother spoke to me once during quite a difficult time for me and said Allah didn't say "be good to your good parents", He said "be good to your parents" and so for some people this may be your test.. some ppl may have situations that are really difficult but remembering this really helped me and drove me to try and be better..
Yes, it is hard. May Allah give you a way out. If you feels helpless you may read surah Al-Insyirah. If you feels solitude you may read Surah Ad-Duha.

I miss my dad so much. He was kind, gentle and very respectful.
Watching you and your dad doing this makes me happy and sad at the same time: happy because you two are awesome, and sad because I can't see my dad, or call him or hug him.
Seeing you and your father together is so heart-warming and bring tears to my eyes as it reminds me of my late father. Not a day passed without me missing or thinking of them. So just continue being the good son that you are whilst you are able to. The ten years looking after them when they reached old age was no doubt challenging especially when my dear father was suffering from Alzheimer. May Allah swt accepts my service towards them and I pray that Almighty God bless their souls.

Assalamu alaikum Daniel. I experienced incredible spiritual enlightment because I heard "voices" that telling me 'because off my mother's duaa' I enjoying things and events during hajj 2001. To gratitude my parents, I recited QS 17:23-24 and striving to serve them with the best provision and utmost humility. I usually use those two ayats with QS 25:74. Please observe those ayats are the best duaa for inter-generation. Warm regards from Indonesia

Is there any way I can speak to your father? I noticed his amazing knowledge regarding stuff not many Christians care about(such as the council of nicea). I have studied extensively on these topics relating to comparative religion and would love to have a conversation with him, inshaAllah.
You can even post the conversation if you'd like. I know a bit of biblical Hebrew + Aramaic as well with some Quranic Arabic. I think it would be an educational discussion for the wider audience too.

You have such a supportive dad. I mean my late father didn't deny my being a Muslim, he was supportive too. He passed now as a disbeliever. It's difficult for me as I cannot make du'a for him as how the prophet Muhammad, sallahualaihi wasalam could also not be able to make du'a for his parents. But we can make du'a for anyone as long as they are still alive, anyone, families and friends. I make du'a to Allah, to soften your families' heart and that they all become Muslims, that you all can perform salah together, could fast Ramadhan together and could live this life upon the deen of submission to Allah.
