This is such A GREAT video.
I have not had to wash my bottles since I watched this over a year ago.
This really worked but the hot water at the end cracked my glass jug, so I would hold off on that part. Maybe only use warm water
Thank you so very much! Your instructions worked & now I have clean jugs!
Awesome. Im so glad to help.
Thanks. I didn't have any rock salt, so thought I'd try this. Works great!
Awesome. Thank you for watching and subscribing. I haven't had to clean mine, since i made this video

@@pappysproductionshey kind sir. I'm looking for a plastic free set up. I have everything except a metal valve for my glass 3 and 5 gallon glass jugs. Do you use the plastic dispenser valves? Do you know where to get metal or all natural none plastic dispenser valves?
I love your hanging idea 😃👍👏
Thank you so much
Great! Thanks for sharing 👍🏼

IT WORKED 👀!!!
thank you man nice video
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing. I appreciate you, my man!
Came here for something that will remove mold from lemon water sugar 💃🏾 this is perfect! Course enough to remove it!
Awesome sauce. It was a fun video to make.
@@pappysproductions thank you! I tried it and it worked in under 3 minutes. Too baby the people in the comments don't have an idea to think of things beyond cleaning a "water bottle" these things are not always used for water and might have stuck chunks in there left behind.
👌 Great job!...
Thank you very much.
Hi at 7:08, looks like your using top loading water dispenser. Do you use a “
specific brand of “no-splash” cap on the glass 5 gallon carboy or do you just heave that sucker on top? Thank you !
I just tilt it on there semi- slowly. No cap. Just make sure the bottle is dry. They're slippery when wet. The glass bottles are beautiful and worth the extra effort. They cast rainbows on the wall. Thanks for watching and SUBSCRIBING. i just bought an old fixer upper house. Im going to be posting a lot of how to videos...
Thank you so much 🎉
You're so very welcome 🙏
Super!!!!👍👌😍

You're so very welcome. 🙂
checkout the Aqua Stakka .. lets you stack water bottles upside down (to dry) or right-side up when full
Thanks my man! I appreciate you
Came to learn how to clean my demijohn. Left feeling proper zen. #windchimes
Awesome sauce. Thanks for watching and subscribing, my man!
Nice shirt. I live in Las Vegas!
Very cool! I live in Florida now.
Thanks. Where do you buy your glass 5gal bottles?
Hi R, I added a link in the the description to where I purchase the 5 gallon water bottles. I also added a 3 gallon glass bottle as well. Thank you for watching and SUBSCRIBING! I appreciate you.
Will rock salt work instead of the rice? Thanks! This is a great video. I appreciate the chemical free option.
Yes. i like that idea even better!

@@pappysproductions I left my water jug and the heat for about 5 hours do you think the water is still safe to drink it was in direct sunlight
@@nategarcia3476Stop being lazy and replace the water. Common sense. And stop asking health questions for opinions. Just research it for facts. Stop being lazy.

What is the baking soda to water ratio? Why not put baking soda in with the vinegar?
The baking soda cleans out the vinegar taste and smell.
2 Table spoons of baking soda per gallon. thanks for watching and subscribing!
we have 70 carboys never ending cleaning 12 gallon demijohns are slowly replacing 5 gallon carboys
Sounds like a lot of work!🤨
Can you please share link of product you use to cap water jug
Here you go.

Is it necessary to wash new plastic water bottles before first use?
Yes, anything your going to use for food or water should be initially washed.
Just swish around some vinegar and warm water then rinse with baking soda and water. No need for rice. This is also how I wash my Camel pak bladder after a hike.
Thx
You're very welcome
Very informative thank you
Thank you very much
Are you on an Android phone?
Did you try my link?
@@pappysproductions I didnt try your link I just went to your page and it let me subscribe without being forced. Yes I'm on an android
@@pappysproductions I didnt see a link I think the creator deleted our conversation on their page
@@broughttoyoubybrittany4349
So looks like this doesn't work for Android. I went to his page and clicked on his subscribe link and it did the same thing. Took me to his home page, but did not subscribe me. Also, reading through all the comments on his videos, I've learned that he will not respond or reply to people asking for help with this. I also watched his mobile version of this and it's the same thing. Doesn't work. I deleted my comments off of his video as not to help the algorithm with his videos. I cannot support someone that does not help people, yet wants your views, subs and support
Is there anything I can use instead of Vinegar ?
Thanks for watching and subscribing my man!
You could use food grade hydrogen peroxide.
@@pappysproductions damn I didn’t think of that. Thanks !
@@tylernol3830 you're very welcome
I’m just curious. Bleach is much less work. If it is rinsed out, why is it bad to use? I’m just wondering thank you.
Sodium hypochlorite is a chemical commonly found in bleach, water purifiers, and cleaning products. Sodium hypochlorite is a caustic chemical. If it contacts tissues, it can cause injury.
Swallowing sodium hypochlorite can lead to poisoning. Breathing sodium hypochlorite fumes may also cause poisoning, especially if the product is mixed with ammonia. Also, We try to avoid being consumers of harsh chemicals such as bleach, draino, round up etc. All this stuff ends up in our water and 🌎
@@pappysproductions Thanks for answering my question. I understand what you’re saying now. I’ve grown up in the pool since I was 4 either teaching lessons, or rec swimming. The ever familiar smell of bleach has greeted me for 44 years as I swam and I know I’ve accidentally gulped more water than I could estimate. I’m not saying that had been healthy. I just think that throughly disinfecting my water storage containers with a low amount of bleach, isn’t going to cause harm as much as all of the swimming I’ve done in my lifetime. No one should drink it though I feel (not purposely anyway), as far as water storage. Could you please give me another option than using the bleach for long term storage? That’s all I know. Thank you so much for your dedication to teaching people about water storage container cleaning in general. (I would love to rig up the bungee cord system!) Thanks again for replying to my question.
The only thing that wasn't a chemical was the rice lol
Educate me, you are storing water in them so why do you have to make sure there is no water in them?
What does the rice do?
The rice acts as an exfoliator for the inside of the bottle.
I just wash mine with dish soap! Mine do not have mold!
Sweet!
Why not store them with the caps on?
I don't want to trap any moisture in there, that could potentially grow mold. Once they're completely dry, sure put the cap on. If you're re-filling your bottles weekly than you don't have to worry about that. I have a lot of bottles that i refill once every 1.5 months. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
@@pappysproductions That makes sense, thanks so much for your reply!
I thought u r johnny sins lmao
Chemicals*
NO CHEMICALS!!! How to clean a 5 Gal water bottle without chemicals
91% alcohol and a cup of coursed salt will do the same thing in one step
Sweet, I look forward to seeing your video.
Alcohol just disinfects, it doesn't lift.
This bottle already washed
No, that bottle was not already washed.
I’m a nomad I’ll just go buy a new one😂
Why are you storing empty bottles?
I have about 10-15 bottles .
I store them until all are empty, then I drive up the mountain to the spring, to refill them.
For the info you offered, it could have been equally valuable in a third of the time. Other than that, a nice video.
I agree. It was my first tutorial I made. I'm going to re edit it as soon as I get time. Thank you for watching and commenting. Remember, you can change the play back rate to 1. 25 and 1.5x without distorting the audio. I do that on tutorials that are lagging
you can speed up the video right?

Well everything went well until you used the water hose lol. Otherwise, yay.
I had three plastic 5 gal water bottles and it was several years before algae began forming inside them.
Quite honestly, I couldn`t be bothered going through all that palaver that guy was doing in the video, these bottles are very cheap, easier and less hassle to buy new ones.
Of course, simply throw them away.... nevermind the environment and adding more trash to the land fills and ocean.
@@pappysproductions you’re going to have to throw them away at some point anyway friend. Don’t know what world you live in but it was bad for the environment as soon as they were created.
Also, you can obviously recycle both the plastic and glass ones. But the recycling process is fairly inefficient for almost everything in modern society. Its always a net loss for the environment. You probably wasted at least a few gallons of water cleaning everything out just in this video, but we won’t talk about that, will we?
No, we won’t. So maybe cool it on hitting people over the head with the whole environmental pitch. You’re just as guilty as everyone else, and nothing you’ve done in this video helps address that in any meaningful way whatsoever.
Is this supposed to be a joke?
Sheesh just use bleach
Ok
Just so you know, water is a chemical lol
Good video though
Thank you very much. Thanks for watching and subscribing
Acetic acid (vinegar) and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) are chemicals too.
@@tphillips5397 lmao ik
Yes, but you ca. Consume those chemicals and not die. Alot of people, would use bleach to disinfect bottles.
Sorry no working person is hanging anything for twice a year cleaning on there back porch. 😂
Thank you for your wisdom
This dude is doing to much!!
Is he? He hasn'thad to clean these bottles since this video. No mold to this day. Hmmmm
