The psychology of money and investing is a complex and fascinating field that involves understanding how individuals think, feel and behave in relation to financial decisions. Understanding these psychological factors is crucial for investors as it can help them make more informed and rational decisions. Financial education, self-awareness and a disciplined approach to investing can help mitigate the impact of these psychological biases. Additionally, seeking the advice of financial professionals can provide valuable perspectives and guidance.

Well first of all keep debt to a minimum like Jaspreet said, figure out the type of investor you are (whether you're an aggressive investor or you like to play it safe) and also work with a pro (mine is Anna Rounds Fay btw) that has more in-depth knowledge on investing in the market

The rewiring bit is so real. I grew up lower middle class. Had a few amazing experiences getting to travel a few times, but it was a large sacrifice. I thought I would always be on the poorer side of things, so I didn't try (or tried and gave up) for a long time. Having kids and realizing that I didn't make enough to provide what they would need was the first wakeup call, and got me on a career track. Then my wife had a major health event, and wealth building no longer felt optional.
My kids are starting to see the disconnect between lifestyle and assets now. We say "no" a lot. And for the next few years we will still say no a lot. We are building that foundation. We filled in the hole of debt, now we are driving in the anchors and foundation. And soon we will begin building something more enjoyable. Moving dirt and pouring a foundation is difficult and hard work with little to enjoy or be proud of. Getting the framing in and the roof on will be a little easier, but once we have that in place then we can actually live a little larger and have more freedoms. Unfortunately it won't be soon enough to have a lot of fun while our kids are young... But I'm sure we will make up for it as they get established themselves.
