What I do is that I transfer the nuts and seeds onto paper plates or paper bowels that are not lined in plastic and put those in the fridge. The plates in the fridge absorb the left over moisture and the nuts and seeds stay well for over a week.

Nuts and seed are extremely hard on the digestion system, even though you may not actively feel that. I would never eat a nut or a seed without soaking them. No one ever mentions "how much water it takes to bola potatoes, or pasta' LOL Most people put down things without ever doing a OUNCE of research themselves lol

In India most people know this as in Ayurveda its common knowledge to have soaked overnight nuts.. specially almonds, raisins n walnuts. However it also depends on yr body type (again according to Ayurveda we have 3) n how many u eating.. so if its just a few cashews, it's ok to eat as is..

Kelly, I have a question, if you can answer it. I'm diagnosed with celiac (gluten intolerance). I don't buy nuts and seeds if the package is not labeled as gluten free. So, can soaking help to clean nuts, seeds or grains, like green buckwheat and millet, from gluten? I know, they don't contain gluten by definition, but they could have been packed in the environment not free of gluten. Thank you in advance. Alex

While you remove most anti-nutrients when you peel off the skin, you also remove a lot of the good stuff, most of the micronutrients. The same with grains. Hence soaking and sprouting (which reduces anti-nutrient content while boosting nutrients) is usually a better option.

water is so abundant on this earth, what's your point? Yes some countries don't have good access to it, but unless you're intending to post that water over to them, then why should it matter? if it's good for your health why not do it? on the other hand if you care about countries with water shortages then you should help fund clean water programmes instead of complaining on youtube :/
