Jake Singer and i think its probably because of joe's unprofessional way of conducting his interviews. it seems like because hes gets so excited about the games he interviews about that the people he talks to can loosen up a little bit and gives better information. its almost like joe and whoever have known each other for years.
Captain...this is some beautiful pre-psychic inquisition stuff. The imperium has no emperor, and the works are advancing upon the alliance of men and dwarves from what I can see in the trailer.
TheXPGamers The internet keeps getting smaller and smaller. Both the Captain and Archwarhammer commenting on Angry Joe's video. I'm really excited for this game and actually have high hopes for it. But we shall see what Creative Assembly produces from this fusion of awesomeness.
I love how passionate this dude is about the game he's working on. It makes the interview so much more interesting. It's just a coupla gamers geeking out about a world they love. Ain't nothin' wrong with that.
WarriorofSparta hey warrior, leaked total war warhammer footage, bad quality but da hype is real :) gfycat.com/AmbitiousNeighboringInvisiblerail#?format=gif got it from another guy in this comments section so props to that guy (cant find him again)
Those developers could stand to fire their marketing departments and hire talented programmers and artists, Joe will do your marketing for you if your game rocks.
Carl M yeah but then, not saying angry joe would be, but there's that chance of corruption. Buy this it's awesome, turns out its broke EDIT: I do agree though that if advertising and marketing had more talented people in it instead of money grubbing "artists". Advertisements would be a lot more interesting and informative instead of: DO YOU LIKE KITTENS THEN YOU'LL LIKE OUR PRODUCT!... wtf is that, what is your product?
Miguel Moreno "Cheaper And effective" Joe making money doing what all his fans and he loves to do great. Although... there may be a dark side to this. See right now he (I'm assuming) is doing this for free or at least not getting payed by a company. This allows him to deliver his actual feelings about said game. Now if said company were to pay him it could corrupt the reviews. All and all i think instead of hiring him for a job under a company for review's marketing etc... it would be wiser to pay him out of are own pockets, if you feel as tho he should be payed for said job.
I wish they would make a complete game, optimized and a complete experience from story to units to strategy and combat instead of the bullshit month to month spoil your whole game over hype it and release a buggy un optimized pos just stop it. Make a goddamn game make it correctly don't show us everything in the Motherfucker, let us be stunned overwhelmed and shut guys like me up, please i beg you.
If this Game works as it looks like on paper we have here legendary material. It will be the warhammer fantasy Game that we all have been waiting for so long.
***** Simply what i think he is trying to say could be better explaned by the angry mobs surrounding the conditions at which the previous total wars were released in. More examples and explanations can be found in steam under Rome 2 Total War review's, Empire Total War review's, Attila Total war review's etc.
Joker Smoke I was really just saying the AI of Rome 2 and now you say it Empires were its greatest downfalls for me. They were just awful messes that offered no challenge and made the battles not fun at all. But Attila' AI was fine for the time I played it, nothing amazing but they always reacted in a way that made sense whereas my experience with Rome 2 and Empire the AI just kept doing different formations that made no sense with all there units in one big line and just swapping position and only reacting when you engaged them and then bundling everything into a big mess, but I haven't seen any of that in Attila and so if the battle AI is as competent as Attila as it is in total warhammer then I think the game will be fine. I hope that's easier to understand.
***** Yeah I agree its was more or less the same but with a few extra features but that's pretty much what they have done with every game. Its always new era, better graphics, some new features which i'm fine with but I get that it isn't changing that much.
dartzu I've been interested in Warhammer but the universe is so fucking vast it's impossible to get in to. Unless.. you make it into a fucking total war game! :D
dartzu Warhammer is a mother of all fantasy universae. Scratch that. It is a mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, daughter, "funny" uncle, bastard son, and shifty looking neighbour of all fantasy worlds ever created. Most refined most detailed, diverse Universe ever created - that has all cool things from allother Fantasy world - only better and more awesome ! It is Middleearth without pompatic bulshit It is D&D without ridiculous +2 magic weapons, and other siliness It is something Warcraft was originialy based upon (but they didnt had the money so they went with their own franchise) You miss a lot if you dont know about Warhammer.
Other interviewers:uh huh.....yep.....oh definetly.......i loved your last game, pls keep up the good work Joe:MOTHER FCKER U FCKED UP THE LAST GAME. I CANT TRUST U. I FEEL BETRAYED.
GOD DAMMIT JOE!! DIDNT YOU LEARN FROM YOUR FAN'S FEEDBACK LAST TIME? QUIT INTERRUPTING THE INTERVIEWER! LET HIM SPEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (CAPS NECESSARY)
Ulysses M. he's super excited. On other interviews, I'll understand but let's cut him some slack on this one. It feels like swatting a kid with a newspaper on Christmas morning
Watching how excited Simon is boosted by Joe, get's my hopes up! Total War is PERFECT for this fantasy world ...can you hear it? Total war! WAGGGH HAMMARH!
necropig thats just the sign of someone who's excited for the game. Would you rather have the interviewer speak in a monotone voice completely devoid of any excitement for the game? Cause that doesn't sound fun.
necropig I rather have him interrupt, he can ask critical questions and questions that interest the audience. Also as phtedude1 said, he interrupts any preparation on their part of any possible script and can catch them off guard. It is also a sign that Joe is genuinely interested in the game. Otherwise if he did not care about his fans or the game, he could just sit there and node like most other reviewers do!
TheDorianTube if you are lucky you will find some one who recorded of screen video secretly. like i found one for space hulk : death wing. but i doubt it.
uuuuuugh scripted AI, i had kinda hoped they had a gameplay demo to show for Joe imho i do NOT trust scripted demos in any way shape or form especially when it sounds waaaaay to good to be true... oh well, i hope it's just me beeing a party pooper :P
Arch Warhammer Considering how great Rome 2 looked before it's catastrophical release, I am inclined to agree with you. I remain cautiously optimistic about this. Even if a Warhammer Total War game is something I've been wanting for the better part of a decade now.
Arch Warhammer You have to admit though Arch, they are at least going to try and give each faction the epicness it deserves and it seems as though they are trying to stick really close to the lore, especially with how gameplay is actually going to be affected by things like the winds of magic, btw the Chekists did work on those chaos hordes
Arch Warhammer Well in a way all AI is scripted to a certain degree. It's giving AI more range in what it can do between scripted limitations which is the real challenge, and to make those actions seem someone intelligent to humans is REALLY difficult. Trust me when I say this though if anyone comes up with an AI that is able to learn from the actions of a player to win battles whilst keeping the memory usage low? You're gonna be rich.
Captain BillyMays if you listen to the video you will hear that its ALL scripted as in the battle is essentially a highly doctored replay, there is no AI, Hence my disappointment as i had hoped for something more then a glorified trailer to be shown to Joe.
jesus joe! stop interrupting him all the time and let the man speak. He must have felt so annoyed with you interrupting him everytime he wants to speak
Thank you so much for asking about the customization at the end - the Army Painter was what I was curious about the most honestly. Was said to hear it's not going to be in - but was happy to hear them specify "This title" not "all of them"
Dan Lodder This is one of the games, presented at E3 (a gaming/press convention). The newest titels are announced there, with exclusive gameplay demos on machines at the location. Some games also release gameplay trailers, but you mostly have to wait 6+ months to 2+ years to get the games in your hand :D
I love the references. The location is Black Fire Pass, where Sigmar led the men armies with the dwarves against the green skin invasion. Such a lore rich universe
i understand they have a lot of animations for every unit to make, but for me "total war" trademark made its name with many different factions, never without
Hakop Ekizyan well the Game will only cost the same as a single Army book - so if anyone Games Workshop clients are used to all kind of a moneygrabs ;]
Marcin Zyśko While I can see why it may frustrate some people I get it here, you HAVE to flesh out the factions and give them their due time in this instance.
Marcin Zyśko It's because every faction has as much depth of several "historical total war" factions. If they have to do four times more work per faction, obviously there will only be a fourth as many factions. This makes perfect sense.
Seeing this two guys talking and chatting like that, so excited, energized and happy about the topic ... makes me belive there is no better marketing for a game like this video here. Its all soo natural.
Joe, I only have this to criticize about this interview: "Rather sooner then later." Although you kept telling us that "SEGA is wipping CA to pump these games out every year, even though the developers need more time." In regards to SEGA and CA, I rather have it LATER then sooner.
MercenaryZack Well after hypedemo gameplay you want it play now. Isnt it tempting ? If you get taste of epicness, there is no way how you can controle everything. Especially few minutes later. One would not hold back after hear all that stuff comming. I personally dropped some tears for all what was said. PS : dont look at my EN you better get point
EuwProch You obviously failed to understand my point. I did not say I did not want this game, or that I don't like it or anything of that nature. The point being is that the developers should take their time to make this a really awesome game and not rush it. With that said I do like the expansion idea which will allow CA some more time to "add on and in" content as they continue to work on the expansions. And what does this preemptive "don't look at my EN" mean? If you can't write and read properly then learn it. By saying that you presume I will criticize you, well guess what, I will criticize you excatly for it because you misunderstood my point. And don't come with "English is not my native language", because it isn't mine either. So much to "get point."
MercenaryZack I just argue why AJ said what you criticize. So you didnt rly see point man :) If someone is excited he/she is not that much focused what he/she is saying . You are criticizing without seeing this. If you are big fan of WH you would overcome that with saying nothing because you would know how he did feel. (This does not mean i do not agree with you in that they should take time for that) And i am not that kind which cry its not my birthlanguage.
EuwProch I can see where you are coming from since he probably was lost in the heat of the moment. Even then though, he should not be encourage them, by saying stuff like hopefully its out soon. Some games need time, look at Metal Gear, Skyrim, Star Citizen, great examples and great results. I rather wait a year or 2 longer and get an Epic Total War game, deserving of the Title.
Literally didn't know what Warhammer was before this video, but between Joe's enthusiasm and a developer who looks genuinely excited by what he's working on, I'm totally nerding out.
Can't believe you would hype up a game made by Creative Assembly after the shit that was Rome 2. I don't know anyone who would preorder a game made by this company considering how much money grabbing they do non stop. Their new game Atilla had 4 fucking DLCs in the first damn month after release. One of those DLCs being blood which for some damn reason is still not a free download after all these years. Yes, they've made kickass games but now they shit them out fast and faster with more and more DLC.
Thomas Webb Not even remotely close games. Do you think that everyone who worked on Total War also worked on Alien Isolation? They've constantly been developing Total War games.
***** He knows 40k quite well. People often get really surprised that there is actually a Fantasy counterpart (original in reality) to the Sci-Fi universe!
***** Nah, there is already a theory for this that makes more sense given the warhammer lore: the warhammer planet is actually a former old one lab planet floating around in the eye of terror/the warp, the planet itself is kept safe by a field left over by the old ones leaving the only access to the planet via the polar gates in the northen wastes. Chaos flood through this access but their advance is kept in check by the vortex the elves of ulthuan maintain. This is an almost 20 year old theory from when the warhammer and 40k universes had more things in common. As it stands the last 40k reference in warhammer lore to my knowledge is after the Albion campaign where the winning armies got a bunch of items, some of which sounded suspiciously like 40k gear. Since then GW have been much more adamant in stating the 2 universes are separate entities so the theory has been sunk completely, but still is fun to chuck around and keep alive.
you know i think wondering neutral monsters on a battle map would be interesting. like the battle is taking place next to a hungry dragon and you'd have to avoid and maybe force you enemy into it.
Would be awesome if in middle of the battle if one of your main characters go down it zooms in to the animation in slow motion to show case the awesomeness of it and then speeds back up to see the affect it has on your troops
Listen to the sound of excitement in his voice and his facial expressionsm this is a guy who loves gaming and is excited about his project. These are the guys who should be making games. His excitement brings a tear to my eye because it shows the love of games. Im no total war guy. But man, he has potentially sold this gamer on buying this. Maybe not day one. But sooner or later. Because his love of this game makes it all the better to see this in the industry that is so cash grab its sad. No love, but this man and his crew surely enjoy making games. Good on ya mate.
what about the races? Empire, Skaven, high/wood elves, chaos faction, undead, can we choose what race to play as? and how many will there be? a few or all of them?
The one with space marines is Warhammer 40k, its basically our universe (but with magic, aliens, and gods) but set in the 40,000's. Warhammer Fantasy (this one) is a completely different universe (but with similar gods and some similar races to 40k) and is a fantasy instead of a sci-fi.
Mickie del rey warhammer is medieval, fantasy the another one is warhammer 40k futuristic, science-fantasy, like the name says 40k, ~38,000 years in the future.
Nathaniel White Uh I thought they were in the same universe, but Warhammer fantasy was set in the future. Some fans told me, for example, that the Imperials were founded by a space marine and other stuff like this. Isn't this true?
Great interview , the one thing i hoped to hear was how it was handled when you lose alot of battles as an Orc like does your character have a 1 on 1 battle and if he loses you play as the victor? Because that would be cool.
MRENGLISHRULES101 So are ignoring everything you heard, and basing the entire game on its theme before it even comes out, when Shogun 2 came out everyone thought it was going to suck, look what happened.
matyos97 I know. But this game is just a wrong move. They should be dedicating all of their people to the historical ones, not splitting off to do some new ip that hardly anyone has even heard of.
VimcentTrevis It's not 1/3rd of a game. You know how they plan on making films into trilogies? Are you saying Star Wars Episode IV is 1/9th of a film? The game is complete in 2016. They are working on stand-alone expansions after release. Jesus have you ever PC gamed in your entire life? Ever since I can remember from the early 1990's there has been expansions planned for games. Not always did the expansions get made depending upon the success of the game. Same goes with films. Did you know that the movie Eragon was planned as a trilogy but due to poor box office results it didn't make enough profit to warrant a studio risking money on the planned sequels?
I love watching interviews where both the interviewee and the host are so passionate about the game they are talking about. Its so rare. So many times you see these kind of interviews where the host knows a little about it, and it doesn't become very engaging. Joe though was nearly jumping up and down in this. Joe, I love your interviews man. Keep 'em coming.
One small thing, Karl Franz has let other people use Ghal Maraz, just rarely. For instance, he let Valten use it in the End Times series. Mostly because Valten was thought to be the avatar of Sigmar.
I loved how you began the interview. You actually tricked him into thinking you were disappointed. All in all, a fun interview, and a game I'll keep my eye on.
I'm guessing that 1st expansion: wood elves, brettonia, MAYBE skaven, tomb kings, ogre kingdoms. 2nd expansion: chaos, definitely skaven if not already in, same for tomb kings, high elves, dark elves, lizard men. I know there are other minor factions but imo this order makes the most sense taking geography and end times chronology into account.
With the wind of magic, can de mages either go insane? and do the mages, shamans, or sorceress or a (can't remeber the chaos version) have negative effects on the spellcasting. i've been playing board games since the 90's so. there as confirmed that the orcs do infighting.
Did they mention anything about improving the coop multiplayer functionality in this iteration? That would be a huge help compared to the last couple of Total War games and awesome to fight side by side with friends conquering all of the Warhammer World.
I've always wanted to rename my guys on total war but for this I might be ok with them having established identities because they are actual characters I could look up or even buy from the table top version.
The Blackfire Pass is far away from the Estalian Empire, but little errors happen. There are the Border Princes, near to Tilea. Great interview, I want to this Game now!
A little upset there is no chaos at at start. Hopefully they mange to add all the other factions in the expansions. Also anyone know where the E3 trailer is for this. I cant find it anywhere.
Nuts. Their expansion plan sounds cool (and makes sense), if they really can expand the campaign map (which hasn't never been the case w/ the Total War games, if memory serves. Haven't gotten Rome 2 or Attila, yet, tho') I guess it's a good thing I like the Empire faction so at least one of the factions I want is there. (Dwarfs, too, I guess, but I only really like the Slayers, I think. I wonder if Gotrek Gurnisson will be in the game...) Looking forward to this game and the High Elves (wanted to build a High Elf cavalry-heavy Dragon Princes+Silver Helms list for tabletop ages ago...ended up with mechanized 2-3x Land Raider Crusader Black Templars, instead...).
Thanks again Joe! You always ask the questions the fans WANT answered rather than the canned stuff other game journalists do. The way you get genuinely excited and even get developers to loosen up is really awesome to see. Mad props and looking forward to more videos!
I hope that in the game the diffrent city's in the empire will have their own colours. Like the Nordland State. With their Halberdiers. Or Reikland with their white armoured units yet their greatswords (( Carroburg)) Are a special order and wear vlack and red. And I just hope something like that will happend... And give us chaos damnit!
Once upon a time there was a man called Joe Vargas. Long ago he felt very lost in the world, he tried to find the perfect girlfriend that looked for the same in a relationship as he, but no one was really the type he was looking for. Suddenly there she stood!! There eyes met, and it was love at first sight. Her name was creative Assembly! This was her, she had all the things joe looked for and it was a revelation. She was striving woman always being the woman who knew how to act and wanting to find her way into the world. Together they became the most endearing couple. For years Joe knew that there would be no other girls but her. They went around the world to Japan, Italy and all over Europe. It was a love story that seemed not to end. That was until one day. Being a popular girl, she still attracted all kinds of suitors, many whom still had a lot of influence over her life. There were one fellow in particular, his name was SEGA and of course Joe had been told that he merely her Boss at work, she could totally stand on her one legs creative assembly told Joe. However one day creative assembly was asked to join for a huge business project in DC for a global oporation. Joe was exited for her, more perhaps for anything that she had ever done before and sent her with his blessings . Many months had past and creative Assembly returned... Joe was very happy too see her. They both embraced in a loving embrace, but..... there was something wrong with her. Creative Assembly was shaking and it looked as if there was something in her expression that seemed as if she started to be afraid.. Joe was confused, but still happy that they were together. But the more time went, the more distant she became... This were the first time there was something of a crisis in their relationship. Joe wandered, what had happened?! Everything was going so fine.. Joe knew that there had to be something done, so they went on a new honeymoon trip to Japan again. There Joe saw that the spark in their relationship still was flaming and saw the fire in cretive assemblys eyes. O he did love her so much... Everything was right with the world again. But then a catastrophy happened! During a very exiting party Joe and creative assembly was dressed in thematic roman costumes, creative assembly was drunk and out of control, Joe was pretty buzzed as well, This was going to be the best party ever simply... Joe was introduced to creative assemblys boss SEGA, they had a past together, they looked slightly uncomfortable to each other, but still shook hands and smiled politely. SEGA:s friend Activision was jumping up and down and trying to be loudest at the party and Joe went to take him down a peg. It was now that creative assembly suddenly had vanished. Joe went to look for her and in a room on the top floor there she was.... She was cheating on Joe with SEGA and also to make it worst, there was also another bloke in bed, a stranger, batte AI Programmer Julian McKinlay. Joe ran away... He felt betrayed... His perfect one true love was now a fake and a fraud.. He hated her so much that it hurt, but deep down he still loved her.. Joe moved out... Creative Assembly called him everyday... "I can make it up to you baby ... I can... Im sorry... Please give me a chance" Joe did not care, turned of the phone and went into solitude, looking on nostalgic pictures of the past. One day she was even on his doorstep... Joe opened the door..There she was wanting to take him for a walk again... Joe smiled at her, but with indifference and after talking with her for 10 min, he closed the door. He still felt betrayed... Time passed. Joe thought of her a lot, he was uncertain if she was worthy another chance, the love was strong but the hate was equally great. Reluctant he went to her doorstep... She opened the door, creative assembly was more beautiful than ever... "I am ready to give you this chance my love, but do not fail me, Joe said with a voice full of hope but shivering with fear " he reached out his hand..... Creative assembly looked at him.... Would she take it, can they ever be together again? to be continued
Great interview. Was really hoping this was coming out this year. I freaking love Warhammer going back to the 80's and have been wanting a Total War version of Warhammer Fantasy since I played the original Rome.
Hey Joe, I don't know how much studying you did on Warhammer, but even in some places you had no clue, on more mechanics sorts of things you really need to know what us Warhammer fans are looking for. Thank you for doing this, it answered a lot of my questions and I'm looking forward to the game now more then ever.
okay... i was initially really disappointed BUT it could really go somewhere interesting. I seriously hope they go back to historical settings again with new and improved systems, Attila was so close to being ideal; id love to see that carry over to medieval 3
A note on the game tie in thing. i think hes saying it will work something like Kings Bounty since im horrible at explaining but a a reference hope it helps.
That was one of the best interviews I've ever seen. All of the questions and answers had such a natural flow, and the enthusiasm from both of you just wowed me. Its great to see a developer so passionate about the game he's creating. It was a refreshing change from the other e3 interviews I've seen. The game sounds amazing and I'm definitely going to check it out.
Man, Joe's last updates about Warhammer games were amazing. Such passionate devs, so much potential. PLEASE let it live up to the expectations, I'll throw money at the screen if it happens :)
It's a shame CA has stopped me from being able to get any hype for their releases. Hopefully they go back to form and this turns out to be as good as it sounds.
Customisation of your own army is a huge part of tabletop Warhammer Fantasy Battle and I really hope some form of army painter gets incorporated into the final game. I know the first thing I'll want to do is put my own personal stamp on my army, even if it's limited to only a set palette of colours it'll be good enough. This interview got me excited for the game, the enthusiasm from both of them was off the charts which is exactly what I wanted to see. Joe's reaction and description of the demo hit all the right notes. Total War : Warhammer has just jumped up to the top of my 'want' list in a big way.
This guy seemed so excited to talk about the game, it was fun and interesting to hear him speak passionately about it, which is good and hopefully they avoid previous mistakes in the total war series. One of your best interviews Joe, great job, definitely need to work on the interrupting thing, I understand how excited you get because you are a true gamer by heart but try staying patient and let the them finish what they want to say. Keep it up man!!!
LIzardmen, Please have Lizardmen at some point. I'm thinking 1st Empire, Orcs and Goblins, Vampire Counts, Dwarfs (Confirmed) Hopefully Dogs of war units as mercs? 2nd Wood Elves, Bretonians, Chaos, Tomb Kings (?) 3rd Dark Elves, High Elves, Skaven, Lizardmen (?) Possible Chaos Dwarfs, Beastmen and Ogre Kingdoms dlcs?
Currently playing the warhammer dawn of war series since I got them off the humble bundle can't wait for this game different in a wah but I've been addicted to the warhammer games last few months. Just platted wahammer space marine and boy the hard mode was a good challenge. I just love the lore to the franchise and how huge the info is on factions via Wikipedia.
Wow, this guy is really passionate about his game. You don't always see that with developers. It's nice.
Jake Singer and i think its probably because of joe's unprofessional way of conducting his interviews. it seems like because hes gets so excited about the games he interviews about that the people he talks to can loosen up a little bit and gives better information. its almost like joe and whoever have known each other for years.
Or it might just be he's really passionate about fantasy warhammer
Jake Singer Or drank a lot of coffee... Or just nervous, because he has to lie or twist the truth about the game to make it sound good.
Chase Mathis He doesn't act like an awkward robot programmed to ask questions in a neat order.
Jake Singer Most people that are into Warhammer/40k are passionate about it
Happy to see I'm not the only one to be complete blown away by the game demo at E3. That Troll Belly. O.o Can't wait to see the full release.
Captain...this is some beautiful pre-psychic inquisition stuff. The imperium has no emperor, and the works are advancing upon the alliance of men and dwarves from what I can see in the trailer.
Pre emperor only, my bad.
Do you know any place on you tube hat has the demo not everyone was at e3
TheXPGamers The internet keeps getting smaller and smaller. Both the Captain and Archwarhammer commenting on Angry Joe's video. I'm really excited for this game and actually have high hopes for it. But we shall see what Creative Assembly produces from this fusion of awesomeness.

Joe making money doing what all his fans and he loves to do great. Although... there may be a dark side to this. See right now he (I'm assuming) is doing this for free or at least not getting payed by a company. This allows him to deliver his actual feelings about said game. Hell yeah
Haplano same here
Haplano yeah it'll be a good version of battle march lel
Haplano i just hope they give all their time in the game, No more Rome 2 bullshit, i want this to be CA's Starcraft 2...
Officially hyped as FUCK for this game!
***** Attila showed that they wake up the people in charge of AI some times so as long as they don't fuck that up the game should be awesome.
ur right. shit.

dartzu I've been interested in Warhammer but the universe is so fucking vast it's impossible to get in to. Unless.. you make it into a fucking total war game! :D
***** I found reading the novels really helped me get my head around the lore.
dartzu Warhammer is a mother of all fantasy universae.
It is Middleearth without pompatic bulshit
It is D&D without ridiculous +2 magic weapons, and other siliness
It is something Warcraft was originialy based upon (but they didnt had the money so they went with their own franchise)
You miss a lot if you dont know about Warhammer.
Angmir the only universe is that is more detailed is the 40k universe, the lore for that is seriously detailed.
Angmir I remember in one part of the warhammer lore the orks break the fourth wall and start making fun of Tolkien and his orcs
Other interviewers:uh huh.....yep.....oh definetly.......i loved your last game, pls keep up the good work
Joe:MOTHER FCKER U FCKED UP THE LAST GAME. I CANT TRUST U. I FEEL BETRAYED.
Other interviewers: oh dis gaim guud tank yew bai.
Joe: OMG LOOK AT THOSE MOTHERFKIN GIANTS EATING MEN. THE ORCS ARE CHARGING. OMG
MANGA OTAKU he might be talking about attila, which is basically an unfucked version of rome 2
Alex Sitaras I can't get into any of the factions for Attila. I feel so left out :(
Alex Sitaras "unfucked"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Dominic Mercurio attila is derpy in regards to balance and optimization, rome 2 at launch, might have been the worst release for any entertainment ip
GOD DAMMIT JOE!! DIDNT YOU LEARN FROM YOUR FAN'S FEEDBACK LAST TIME? QUIT INTERRUPTING THE INTERVIEWER! LET HIM SPEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (CAPS NECESSARY)
I think he's doing ok
Ulysses M. But dude Animals is so great.
Ulysses M. he's super excited. On other interviews, I'll understand but let's cut him some slack on this one. It feels like swatting a kid with a newspaper on Christmas morning
***** that being said still no Attila review
Ulysses M. You're right and obviously "67" others agree with you. **smh**
Watching how excited Simon is boosted by Joe, get's my hopes up! Total War is PERFECT for this fantasy world ...can you hear it? Total war! WAGGGH HAMMARH!
Grimfanden BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!
Morgan Ormsby SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!
PapaZoulou HYPE FOR THE HYPE TRAIN
MILK FOR THE KHORNE FLAKES!!!
Were you satisfied
On today's episode of Joe interrupts - Warhammer!
necropig oh snap! lemmy get my popcorn!
necropig thats just the sign of someone who's excited for the game. Would you rather have the interviewer speak in a monotone voice completely devoid of any excitement for the game? Cause that doesn't sound fun.
necropig It was annoying, I couldn't make out half of what was said.
WebOnion he interuppts all the time so that the other guy cant stick to his script
necropig
I rather have him interrupt, he can ask critical questions and questions that interest the audience.
Also as phtedude1 said, he interrupts any preparation on their part of any possible script and can catch them off guard.
It is also a sign that Joe is genuinely interested in the game.
Otherwise if he did not care about his fans or the game, he could just sit there and node like most other reviewers do!
I totally overlooked this game at E3. I wish I got to see it. It looks outstanding.
***** ah lol, I tried to find all these stuff joe was talking about for like half an hour -_-. So that's why there's nothing on TH-cam then Q_Q
Arch Warhammer well it at least it sounds like they fixed combate
The best interview ive seen for a game that i've seen absolutely no gameplay from. Im hyped as much as both of these guys
Holy shit I'm excited.
lewis Fox me too it looks awsome
Yeah !
lewis Fox +
I'm not excited right now, i've learned my lesson from Rome 2 ;)
360zeclub I want to be with you on that stance, but i just cant avoid being infected by Joes enthusiasm ^^
When this game comes out, I will watch this to see if CA fulfilled their promises.
jesus joe! stop interrupting him all the time and let the man speak. He must have felt so annoyed with you interrupting him everytime he wants to speak
Simen Roald Joe does this on purpose btw.
Simen Roald He's excited
Simen Roald Its a normal nerd conversation, me and my friends talk like that wen we are exited about something!
Simen Roald well if joe doesn't then its a PR fest so yeah
Thank you so much for asking about the customization at the end - the Army Painter was what I was curious about the most honestly. Was said to hear it's not going to be in - but was happy to hear them specify "This title" not "all of them"
Hope This Game Is Good at release.
mbunny87 it won't be. it's gonna be broken trash like rome 2. but a year later its gonna be great
***** They were developing this for 3 years! It wont have many bugs! (A few bugs are excused in this type of a game)
SteveTheDruid 3 years isn't that much, to be honest. Is this a 2015 release?
2016!
The problem with steam refunds is it doesn't give you enough time to learn a game like this, let alone have enough time to give it a fair shot.
"Like Rome 2 where 2 units get into an animation and have a little dance"
>Joes smile drops.
Total War: Warhammer.... such a good title
Matt Underwood should be total warhammer
Primarch Alpharius
Or something else, I dunno Total War: Warhammer sounds redundant
Or just warhammer: Total war
Matt Underwood It emphasizes the amount of war in the game.
Henmar M It's a lot of war, innit?
Is there even gameplay of this game on TH-cam, I struggled to find any,
Dan Lodder This is one of the games, presented at E3 (a gaming/press convention).
The newest titels are announced there, with exclusive gameplay demos on machines at the location.
Some games also release gameplay trailers, but you mostly have to wait 6+ months to 2+ years to get the games in your hand :D
Dan Lodder Someone leaked some gameplay last week. It got deleted on YT but I'll try to find you the WebM of it.
It was a closed demo... so joe played it and talks about it but cant actually show it
a achmed i know what E3 is...
***** fair enough, its the same then, just basically watched not played is all
I am more excited for this than anything else shown at E3.
I love the references. The location is Black Fire Pass, where Sigmar led the men armies with the dwarves against the green skin invasion. Such a lore rich universe
Simon was like "oh no did he hate? He hated it! That means he hates me noooo! No wait, he liked it!"
Fuckin perfect.
Joe's face is pure excitement. That's why I like him so much, he really has a passion for gaming and seems like a kid in a mega toy shop.
20:00 and again, warhammer factions are going to be split through various expansion packs, like in DoW I, II.
ugh great, my wallets already empty from the boardgames
i understand they have a lot of animations for every unit to make, but for me "total war" trademark made its name with many different factions, never without
Hakop Ekizyan well the Game will only cost the same as a single Army book - so if anyone Games Workshop clients are used to all kind of a moneygrabs ;]
Joe, I only have this to criticize about this interview:
"Rather sooner then later." Although you kept telling us that "SEGA is wipping CA to pump these games out every year, even though the developers need more time."
In regards to SEGA and CA, I rather have it LATER then sooner.
EuwProch
You obviously failed to understand my point.
MMOGrind Alien isolation was pretty good...
Correction. Alien Isolation was amazing...
Lucas Stecz I stand corrected
Thomas Webb Not even remotely close games. Do you think that everyone who worked on Total War also worked on Alien Isolation? They've constantly been developing Total War games.
MMOGrind ya never know. after they shit out empire they managed to make a fantastic game in shogun 2
I like how excited and passionate the battle designer came across during the interview. Hope his vision comes through in the final product.
YES!! I've been waiting for this!!!!
Glad to see that the designer knows his warhammer. Joe obviously has no clue about the warhammer universe.
***** He knows 40k quite well. People often get really surprised that there is actually a Fantasy counterpart (original in reality) to the Sci-Fi universe!
Abokasee 40k is fun aswell. Useless knowledge in his situation though as warhammer and warhammer 40k don't take place in the same universe.
***** well it's still too early to say definitively that they don't take place in the same universe.
IfJesusWoreAHat The only way that's possible is if the warhammer world is within a undiscovered star system in 40k.
Finally. A game in which people can recreate the battles in LoTR without modding a lot.
you know i think wondering neutral monsters on a battle map would be interesting. like the battle is taking place next to a hungry dragon and you'd have to avoid and maybe force you enemy into it.
Glory to Ulthuan!
What's the difference between this warhammer and the one that has space marines?
Mickie del rey From what I understand this is a medieval timed Warhammer where as that is 40k and is based on future stuff.
TheDorianTube Its a long running speculation that used to have more basis in the older fluff as far as I know.
Great interview , the one thing i hoped to hear was how it was handled when you lose alot of battles as an Orc like does your character have a 1 on 1 battle and if he loses you play as the victor? Because that would be cool.
Dude, let him speak...
Its just like their hanging out screw the camera. Love to see Developers excited about their game, it is always a good sign
Personality, i hate the idea. The only way they could save this is if they allow free modding capability so people could make historical mods for it.
MRENGLISHRULES101 wat? this is a different team than the historical one, so you will be getting historical ones aswell mate
MRENGLISHRULES101 So are ignoring everything you heard, and basing the entire game on its theme before it even comes out, when Shogun 2 came out everyone thought it was going to suck, look what happened.
MRENGLISHRULES101 Just support the Europa Barbarorum project. When EB 2 is completely finished, it will exceed Rome II in everything except graphics.
julian brown then everyone had high hopes for Rome 2 and look how that went..
matyos97 I know. But this game is just a wrong move. They should be dedicating all of their people to the historical ones, not splitting off to do some new ip that hardly anyone has even heard of.
'No one dies naturally in the war hammer universe!'
I like this guy.
That name is so awkward. I'm going with either Total War: Hammer or Total Warhammer.
Not nearly enough hammer in the title
Ren Yutomi Total Hammer War Hammer of Hammer War?
tipoomaster Stop...........
tipoomaster Because a war is a different form a warhammer.
So they talked about characters following your agent-heroes. So like, would they also pop up on the battlefield as like squad mates?
I don't really like the "3 stand alone\expantione type" thing, but ok...
VimcentTrevis Do you want the game to come out in 2025? lmfao
Марк Экэнсталэр No, but i also don't want to buy full price 1\3 of a game in 2016... ;)
I heard they weren't going to be full price.
Марк Экэнсталэр I really hope so! :)
Keep 'em coming.
interruptingjoeshow
One small thing, Karl Franz has let other people use Ghal Maraz, just rarely.
For instance, he let Valten use it in the End Times series. Mostly because Valten was thought to be the avatar of Sigmar.
I love how Joe was upfront with the model collision fuckery of Rome 2.
This stand alone expansion thing is giving me hope that the Lizardmen may be a faction.
I want to see the E3 gameplay footage Joe saw! Where is it??!
I've always wanted to rename my guys on total war but for this I might be ok with them having established identities because they are actual characters I could look up or even buy from the table top version.
I I hope after this they make a 40k version like during the Great Crusade or something that would be fucking amazing
Just the excitement from both of you alone has convinced me to get this game.
Good job guys..
The Blackfire Pass is far away from the Estalian Empire, but little errors happen. There are the Border Princes, near to Tilea. Great interview, I want to this Game now!
I loved how natural the interview looked. And man, so excited for this game!
Haven't gotten Rome 2 or Attila, yet, tho')
I guess it's a good thing I like the Empire faction so at least one of the factions I want is there. (Dwarfs, too, I guess, but I only really like the Slayers, I think. I wonder if Gotrek Gurnisson will be in the game...)
Looking forward to this game and the High Elves (wanted to build a High Elf cavalry-heavy Dragon Princes+Silver Helms list for tabletop ages ago...ended up with mechanized 2-3x Land Raider Crusader Black Templars, instead...).
Are there also sea battles, or just land and siege battles?
OMFG Joe, the only question we wanted answered was whether or not they are still using that shitty 1v1 melee engine from Empire-Atilla.
I wonder if they'll have a dispel system so you can play magic defensively as well?
I haven't been watching your shows long, but that interview was awesome. So much fun and passion from both you and the dev. You going to Gamescom???
Hey Joe, I don't know how much studying you did on Warhammer, but even in some places you had no clue, on more mechanics sorts of things you really need to know what us Warhammer fans are looking for. Thank you for doing this, it answered a lot of my questions and I'm looking forward to the game now more then ever.
okay... i was initially really disappointed BUT it could really go somewhere interesting. I seriously hope they go back to historical settings again with new and improved systems, Attila was so close to being ideal; id love to see that carry over to medieval 3
Man, bring out the gameplay demo video already!
A note on the game tie in thing. i think hes saying it will work something like Kings Bounty since im horrible at explaining but a a reference hope it helps.
I love how excited and enthusiastic this guy is with their game. Really gives the viewer faith that this Total War game is going to be awesome!
Honestly I'm quite content with the medieval 2 Total War mod for Warhammer... But kill animations and hopefully a cinematic camera would be great
i have never played total war but will i be able to play as all the races or will it be locked to bretonia like any other game would
Wow Joe, that was one hell of an awesome interview. Thank you, keep on rocking!
Man, Joe's last updates about Warhammer games were amazing. Such passionate devs, so much potential. PLEASE let it live up to the expectations, I'll throw money at the screen if it happens :)
I would love to work with these guys, the guy looked as excited as all of us and so passionate too haha!
what graphics card do you recommend to play this game on high settings, idk if it's been revealed or not yet. im not really tech savoy either
This interview seemed like more of a pair of friends talking about their favorite game and it was awesome to listen to haha!
Cannot wait to play Vamp counts in game. I have been collecting them since they split from the tomb kings
Its awesome when you get to interview a developer that loves the game his is working on, it looks so energetic and exciting.
Are there any youtube clips of the the demo??
LIzardmen, Please have Lizardmen at some point. I'm thinking
1st Empire, Orcs and Goblins, Vampire Counts, Dwarfs (Confirmed) Hopefully Dogs of war units as mercs?
2nd Wood Elves, Bretonians, Chaos, Tomb Kings (?)
3rd Dark Elves, High Elves, Skaven, Lizardmen (?)
Possible Chaos Dwarfs, Beastmen and Ogre Kingdoms dlcs?
I have one question, will Chaos be a playable faction?
They're both so enthusiastic and the game designer is obviously very passionate about this game, which makes me excited as hell!
Renaming Generals and Armies is essential, so you can keep track of your armies.
I do this in Napoleon Total War to remember my fronts.
