I'd like to start off by saying this game looks beautiful, the graphics are well done and the animations are for the most part smooth, but I have some feedback First of all, when stopping, I'd recommend having a small animation where the player's upper body lurches forward just a little bit it indicate momentum, I feel like it would make the animations feel much smoother. Secondly, all of the animations look great to me, but the run seems a little robotic, or static. I don't know exactly how to put it, but I think it has to do with the fact that his body doesn't move much when he's running, it's mainly his limbs. One change I'd recommend is having him bob up and down a little, as that's what happens when actually running/jogging. Thirdly, I feel like the attack animation, at least for a large amount of weapons, could be a bit snappier, to make attacking and hitting enemies feel impactful and satisfying, moreso for critical strikes. When chopping down trees and mining it looks fine, but when attacking I feel like it doesn't feel as satisfying as it could. Edit:After going back and looking a bit closer at the attack animations, I realized that I think this has to do with the charge up and wind down animations of the attacks rather than the attacks themselves. Doing that is totally fine, so if you want to have slower attacks that you have to be more careful with, go for it. Finally, if you don't have it planned already, I really hope that different weapons, especially as they become rarer and more unique, have special effects that highly influence your playstyle when using them, for example a sword that sometimes raises skeletons to fight for you when you kill an enemy, or a bow that can chain electricity between enemies. It would be super cool to see items with unique, powerful effects that make them much more fun to use. Thanks a lot for reading if you did make it this far.
dude when u put an animal life system, of course, put horses so that we can ride (and we have to train to ride horses and gain some sort of skill to be able to ride them but though if your horse dies in some way and u take a new horse the new horse will take time to let u ride him), and put animal chain system and make it a lot dangerous in the woods when night falls and we have to use torches extra... to give the game a survival features (u said when u starting to make the game it was a mix between Minecraft and last day on earth extra.... they all have survival flavors in common which give them the hype btw I love the game and I totally support u and I am waiting for this game from a long time n
Loving the progress! One thing to consider in game design is that people will optimise the fun out of a game if you let them. If you want to drive exploration and questing above farm grinding, perhaps you can introduce a mechanism to catch pixies with a net and jar while out on the road so you can train them for farming your crops when you get home. Perhaps a creature tamer character? Still, looking amazing! Can't wait to play it!
@@ShotgunRaider88 in that case it comes down to the primary gameplay loop. In factorio, for instance, the majority of what you do is a harvest and construction loop with other gameplay elements to support the primary gameplay. Len looks more like a weapons and combat oriented base builder. In this case, games like Witcher and Minecraft etc show how harvesting, crafting and questing helps contribute to the fun in the primary loop without taking away from it. New games should focus primarily on what sets them apart. Too often have I started something that tried to do too much and therefore did very little. Len looks like a fresh take on the base building RPG genre, with a great designer at the helm. I'm sure he could pull it off. Not exactly sure if he should is all.
Looks really good man! That crit system looks really fun to play with. Something I noticed though, was that the grass seems to move in waves instead of more individual grass sway(if that makes sense) was this intentional or?
im loving it you could make a potion system to the game and then use the farming system to plant special seeds that cam make these potions as well as simpler potion that can use as ingridient the simpler seeds so players will use it more, but dont make potions too op so that it inst necessary
How will tools work? Will there be durability? Will items break randomly? Or will items not break but instead force you to upgrade to better tools as the game gets harder?
For the edges of roofs if you make the tiles go a little over the edge of the wall below it it'll look a little nicer. Other than that tiny nit-pick the game look gorgeous!!
Thats amazing but in my opinion work a little bit on the movement speed, decrease it a little bit to not be like skiing on the ground add some weight to the character and also fix the rolling be rolls too long with these the gameplay will feel more solid nice job and great work keep it up.
I smell game of the year whenever this will be release. Movement is already fluid combined with the great scenery and the system. UI can be better, like map? If every you are planning on one, why not only open map when you use it on an inventory?
The only issue I can forsee is that people will get tired of all the clicking to gather resources. If resource gatheribg is a big part of the game, that's a lot of concentration and effort being expended.
I know this is not related with this video but can you make a playlist for your "for noobs" videos. And I would really like some more tutorials on the simple but important stuff of drawing from you. Pls
I still think you should add animals into the game. Nothing big, just some small animals scattered around. Like moths around lights and fire flies at night?
The moment when he says he is in on group with all triple a and big games i just thought about danis game which is made by one guy just slapping the keyboard and making bad jokes in good videos But congrats to you😂😂
The video is great but I think you got a problem with the title; I would have never tought that it would update on any of the content of the game just from a quick look. I think that is a shame because you would probably want as many people as possible to see it, and at this point it doesn't attract attention that easily. All the best for the game tho, it's some amazing work!
@@stama8777 Thats what im saying. Its been looking good since he has been posting these. Comments should comment on the video at hand. And your thoughts after its been watched.
I also think you should be able to breed animals like sheep and cows and I think you should be able to tame a dog also I think you should make sea creatures and monkey and jungles and stuff

Is there a demo for this amazing looking game?
what about showing behind the scenes, or like what you found interesting or unique when you started making this game about your own game

Did you use raycast for jump or layermask????

You can walk using wasd keys or just by clicking?
I’ve been watching sense the beginning and your little ghost/cloak guy
My name is Len so I already love this game
I love the crit mechanics!
You should check out art of rally it has a cool shader effect for tree obstruction
Is this gonna be co-op multiplayer?
Can you do tin and grass roofs

Have they ever mentioned which programming languages did they use for this game?
They used unity so they used c#
If there is not already fishing you should add fishing.
I hope there is an option to plant the same seeds on the entire 3x3 grid, so you don't have to click F 9 times and the seed 9 times

i want a tutorial on texturing the ground in substance painter.pls

Maybe add swimming and sea creatures?
Can you make for PS4 if you can? Plz

ever heard of Minecraft? haha
@@lachyyates1182 With that you can hold it down. But yeah building is a lot of clicking, so who knows :P
Won't be a problem
maybe holding to click down would be a better option but grinding and farming is a essential part of a game to keep people playing
Did you have your own animations or you download it from mixamo
