@dizzysdoings no , he was not in a good frame of mind. He felt very unloved, and my family told him we would be there for him. He didn't trust that we would. He left my son his journal. If his parents couldn't love him, why would we. I tried so hard to show him he was loved. He had just turned 17, 7 days earlier .

I know I don’t get it. I was sure the sister was lying but to find out she wasn’t and the parents didn’t even talk to her and let her stick up for herself and plead her case. I’m also confused why she didn’t instantly call her parents. I would have showed up to the airport and said sorry but I’m going.

Surprisingly no the smoking gun is the LEISURE trip not the trip itself.
90% of judges will just tell parents to make it up later and possibly berate op for being spoiled when theres kids with more pressing issues that a single missed day especially if parents skillfully spin it as she refused to come with or couldn’t get passport and we left her a credit card to uber eats /Walmart delivery asked someone to check up on her she’s not mentally disabled so she could survive a few days alone. I forgot physically disabled without mobility aides.
The problem for her parents would be if judge decided that op is in fact not ok alone because :
there’s predators living in her neighborhood,
      the house is faulty,
op is medically fragile-ie epilepsy, heart issues, suici*al can’t walk ect- or something like that.
Most judges do err on ok this is abroad? Who did you sign as her medical proxy (theres a name for it but im blanking! Basically parents/guardian and temporary guardian/custodian go to have a agreement to act on their behalf notarized depending on state you just need the paper some need it filed and it has a start date end date or you can just have it done at local hospitals legal department easier cause they they 100% know its valid) because otherwise your irresponsible! If your daughter got trapped in a fire she can’t wait for you to come back! And again since its for fun its not necessary and could have been scheduled during vacation so bad look on ops parents side.
That said I’ve seen parents get away with oh well i asked school they said after three days of excused absence they’d send truancy officers , and they give you fines unless child has medical reason for not being in school/home school, so i filled the fridge made sure house is locked tight my neighbor was looking after her a few hours and my sister ir whatever stayed/ visited, child could have gone to stay with them but refused.
Op is a teen so yes able to stay alone. And different states have different laws but most agree if you can get a work permit you can be trusted being alone but usually its only for 10-16 days before adults can be charged less if you unfortunately live next to a predator or child has debilitating circumstances that alone is not possible.

Thats what i said. UNFORTUNATELY it is possible in two cases. A small hallmark town were EVERYONE kniws your business and the same old dude is the judge and probably the head of the cops they get that filed quickly . Or B you got MONEY money and connections. I volunteered for a courthouse and it was at BEST 9 day wait if not average was 2-5 month wait times and thats with 8 “common” courts(property disputes, assults that didn’t result in major injuries , arguing over interpretation of laws partitions for changes defending building permits ) 3 traffic and animal disputes being lumped together with over flow basically we had 17 judges that worked 7:30 to 6:40 pm and 5 judges that traveled between the four small cities around us and filled in to big city when they needed it
And we were still months behind. So we were shocked by random dude in gap shirt submitting a request for buying property and rezoning it getting told yup sit down sir actual clerk calling a judge that deals with that from lunch to take him in a empty court room listen check the documents and approve it do the post for your information city of xxxxx requires this this and that we’ll send inspectors blah and out the door in an hour papers handed to court clerk to get it into the electronic filing system. Turns out dude owns huge company and invests in local politics and TECHNICALLY the judge chose to do this of his own free will cutting into his lunch brake courthouse didnt show him favoritism nope. I never looked too hard if its a complain-able offense but it also only applied to like three dudes and they were nice dudes gap dude sent us edible bouquets-not the pot the fruits cut in flowers! So we just for the mist part shrugged it off.

It's kinda why you hear how CPS is constantly called out for abused kids, but nothing's ever done. They don't want a 15 yr old who they wont be able to adopt out, they only do anything if forced to by the state and some foster homes are sometimes worse than the abusive home itself as many of them are only in it for the government $$$

Its funny they gave up their prenatal rights thinking this will make them look good. Their reputation is gone and i doubt they will let op get away with it. The blood sister will definitely go back for revenge. Because how did she only get community service. Seeing how the sister has a rep for bullying others and that beating she gave her and how she held her there.
Also i wonder if op isn't a affair baby. Or has some secret inheritance that the parents plan on taking now that op isnt apart of the family.

@erinmaltas5648 while they didn't physically participate in the assault they did have a hand in it. They could have seen charges for being an accessory to the assault/battery of the OP. Fear of the OPs sister could have influenced them to not stop her or to keep quiet though. Alot of information we don't have to know for sure

So the older sister assaulted her younger sister (the OP) in school while the older sister's friends aided and abetted? That's not a misdemeanor. That's assault with intent, battery, possibly include attempted murder in that litany of charges as well. That's also automatic expulsion with no possible way to go back. The older sister and her friends should've all been charged as adults. In fact, the school should've expelled the older sibling for that... no prom, no graduation, no re-enrolling.
Now... for the parents... they're lucky CPS wasn't called on them for what they did by leaving her home alone while they and the older sister went down to the Poconos in NE PA. If the parents had brains, they would've realized that the older sister also had finals as well. They should've said, once school is done for the summer, we'll all go on vacation. Instead... they treated the OP like Cinderella.
I'm glad the OP is in a better home with a better family, and I do hope the OP's former family gets their comeuppance from the OP in court.

She has not retaliated any form in of physical vengeance on her older sister and sisters friends that were there watching alex and friends attempt to lill her sister. Their lack of actions to try and stop alex is a blatant admission of guilt because they were all in the wrong. They are as guilty as if they through the first fist! Patience, reconnaissance, paying attention to detail and secretly installing small, hidden security cameras that also pick up sound waves. After 2 to 4 weeks of the Birthday Girl suffering abuse at the hands of her family and recorded on the home’s security system and auto upload to her email, and prolly not usable in a court of law. However, in the court friends, coworkers, employers, and/or religious leaders, would all receive copies of them abusing their hated daughter. They would not survive the fallout as each individual watched the security records.
