I've heard people theorising that each avatar over compensates for the failings of the previous avatar. So in this case Korra is overcompensating for aang's running away from being avatar by embracing being the avatar hard and fast
Another theory that I read was that if Aang didn’t get frozen in the ice berg and the cycle continued normally, Korra would have been the perfect Avatar for that era. Basically saying that the avatars were picked for the right era but bc Aang got stuck, it pushed back Korra’s time and now she’s been born into a peaceful era when all she wants to do is fight.

I'm glad you're all moving on with the series. Look forward for the next ones. Something to keep in mind. Originally, Korra was supposed to have 1 season. Then it was supposed to have 2 seasons. And finally they settled on 4. So, unlike the original series where it was practically planned as a long story broken up in chapters. Korra is more of a set of sequels that try to build upon themselves with the writers and teams always thinking the next season finale would be the last. They do a pretty decent job with all things considered, but it's a bit jarring if one expects an overarching plot/villain.
yeah, nickolodean really screwed them over with that. although tbh i think even despite nickolodean going back n forth with the writers about the shows status, the world building of LoK is the biggest turn off for me even more than the jarring-ness of the plot. because everything about LoK felt way too westernized imo
@@TheTruth-13 Cuz Korra isn’t on par with TLA in terms of writing, the first two volumes are pretty bad compared to the first chapters of TLA, and as an independent product, they’re mediocre at best. Compared to ATLA, TLoK definitely has way more flaws but somehow it's become my favorite of the two. I fucking love this show and I'm so excited to see it with you guys!!
They reeeally started this series of so well. I only actually saw TLoK for the first time this year and it blew me away. You are totally right about Sokka whether he was the father or not. I still very much wonder about a lot of this. Especially as she has a sister. And yeah, one of the best things about this version of the story is show 'just how much' everything has changed, and whether the Avatar is even strong enough or needed anymore in the changed and conflicted world AND I LOVE IT. And it only gets better with her from here.
Same, the world building and characters was always seems so flat and boring compared to avatar, and a lot of the things makes little sense given how TLA ended. @@-JustHuman- yea Korra didn’t get an avatar journey since it would repeat Aang’s journey (I find that lame for several reasons) but it’s ATLA, Korra was always gonna be 2nd
I forgot how strong the first season was, especially the first episode. They hit you with a lot of amazing animation and interesting technological advances, and the logical conclusions to what living in a city full of benders and non-benders would feel like.
Yeah I definitely think way to much people compare it to Atla, I was confused when watching it because I thoroughly enjoyed it and didn't know what people were talking about saying it's bad.
This story takes place roughly 70 years after The Last Airbender. In ATLA, they had steam powered machines. That is really an accurate depiction of how fast technology advanced between the invention of steam power, and the internal combustion engine, and the modern city. In real life, that change happened extremely fast. So that sudden upgrade in technology is accurate. It really did happen in less than a century.
@@yukijames1321 Except it is a blend of Asian cultures , The city, clothing, architecture, model of the cars, style of the shops, the writing being used . They all have been styled from places like 1920s Hong Kong and Shanghai. Theres really close to nothing western about it.
Man, LoK might have issues here and there, but fight choreography, animation (most of it), and even just watching through it for the first time after finishing The Last Airbender is still so nice. It's issues are annoying once you start thinking more and more about them, but if you just go in just for the ride, it's still cool. And it still has so many good things in itself, and watching the first episode always reminds me of that.

It feels like way in the future because of the advancment in technology, but don't forget people during the industrial revolutions also lived in such quick changing times.
I'm surprised no one has talked about how much the Southern Water Tribe has improved since Katara and Sokka's days. They were living in igloos in the intro for ATLA, and now we see them living in legit houses in TLOK intro. I had a lot of feels to see how much they were able to rebuild the Southern Water Tribe.❤
I'm late AF and I'm sure someone explained this already but the reason why Republic City is so developed is because it's essentially all the best minds from all over the world coming to this progressive place. Even big cities like Ba Sing Se from the OG show are not as developed. I think Republic City was meant to showcase the best of human ingenuity if everyone could live together peacefully. Whereas the other nations are slower to develop because they're still insular. It's essentially the industrial boom of late 19th century and early 20th century America with the immigration all that.

They've already finished the show, but I do hope they were informed
Why wouldn’t they watch Korra? Lmao how could you be a fan of Avatar and not watch Korra?
yeah, nickolodean really screwed them over with that. although tbh i think even despite nickolodean going back n forth with the writers about the shows status, the world building of LoK is the biggest turn off for me even more than the jarring-ness of the plot. because everything about LoK felt way too westernized imo
@@TheTruth-13 Cuz Korra isn’t on par with TLA in terms of writing, the first two volumes are pretty bad compared to the first chapters of TLA, and as an independent product, they’re mediocre at best. It’s on the last two volumes where things start to pick up, but for some that is too little too late, and how could you blame them?, if the first season of a show are bad then what’s the incentive to carry on?.
@@Suyai- yh the first two seasons were mediocre but they tried to correct their mistakes in the last two...but like you said some people already lost interest in the show. I love this show it's good and bad at the same time tbh. I'm actually surprised it turned out as good as it did considering it had LOADS of production problems.
"I'm the Avatar, and you gotta deal with it"
deal with it
deal with it
deal with it
_DEAL WITH IT_
sweating intensifies
I'll deal with it alright
*Bends rock straight through head*
I am dealing with it, and I have a lot of alcohol to help
Why did the creators decide to start the entire series like that lol
Flashback to E:R's Korra intro.
@@PaintedHoundie Because we already had to watch Aang learn 3 of the elements, and they wouldn't wanna put us through that again, so now we gotta deal with it
The beifong hang gestures run in the family
Korra did that I’m watching you like katara surprised we didn’t have no water tribe as she walked out
Cant wait for yall to see how they expand this universe...
The writing of this show is pretty good.... it's no ATLA...but I do like that yall arent comparing..because alot of ppl did that....this show is pretty dope...
Sorry to disappoint you but they do a lot a trashing on Korra calling her trash. “Where’s Aang” Lupa keeps the hate going. The feed into all the hate. Except sherra
@@TheTruth-13 I knew sherra would understand...Lupa is funny asf tho loool🤣🤣
@@TheTruth-13 I really liked how Sheera allowed Zuko to grow, so I have a feeling she'll be open to Korra the same.
Back in business with that AVATAR wave y'all

@@PxndaCakes I misread the time 😭
Korra's kind of the definition of "fuck around and find out" and I love it.
“Oliver and Company head ass”
He’s got great taste in movies.
As someone who watched both these shows when they first came out it’s super cool to see a newcomers reaction to it.
That avatar Aang guy seems pretty great i think he should have his own prequel show.
I clicked so fast 😂😂 I really don’t watch a lot of reactors but seeing you guys is like family, we appreciate your hard work ❤️
Lupa: that’s not katara shut up
Me: who else you know with hair loops???
Lupa: how you just come out of nowhere nasty
Me: ...... one word... toph
Katara didn't just pop out kids. She trained a whole generation of waterbenders who came from the northern water tribe.
She didn’t train a whole generation of water benders what are you talking about she was in republic city with Aang
Master Pakku and the North went to the South to rebuild it
The editing is on point once again
Lol, the Clown bending.
Yeahahhh Korra time!! This show has some incredible themes and action especially season 3 and 4. Excited to watch you guys experience it.
Also for the record, the thing with them blocking Katara from telling us about Zuko's mom was because the comic where they actually find Zuko's mom wasn't published yet. I think it came out a few years after season 1 of Korra.
"Damn he is dead"
Well there is a reason why this called avatar korra 😂
2:01 I love how you have to include this
I'm the Avatar! You gotta deal with it!
Thank you Obama
All hail the Supreme Leader, death to the West.
Honestly this is why Aang was just such a better protagonist
@@falcoatilla3620 I mean...she has a lot of character developement.
@@laurajanco2i only character worth a damn is Tenzin and everyone always hate on him
Compared to ATLA, TLoK definitely has way more flaws but somehow it's become my favorite of the two.
17:25 THANK YOU SHEERA!
Legend of Korra is so freaking AWESOME DUDE!
i’m so hype for this, korra has its issues but it was still a great series
Season 1 is definitely the pinnacle of this series nothing after ever topped it
I've tried watching Korra several times before... could never get into it.... but I've come to watch along with y;all :D
Same, the world building and characters was always seems so flat and boring compared to avatar, and a lot of the things makes little sense given how TLA ended.
I don't even remember anyone else than korra and tenzin, as they really din't really stick out. There was a funny boy and a boyfriend too, but can't remember their names, and some emo kinda girl they also hang out with later.
i dropped this shit so fast after the love triangle bullshit xD
@@-JustHuman- uh Mako and his brother... idk the girls name. The most memorable parts... or just the only parts I remember is with original characters from ATLA. For me the time jump seemed too big... or maybe I would've been more intrigued if it were much further in the future without any of the original characters involved... idk
@@-JustHuman- yea Korra didn’t get an avatar journey since it would repeat Aang’s journey (I find that lame for several reasons) but it’s ATLA, Korra was always gonna be 2nd
Its trash at the begining but it has some incredibly great episodes later on
11:23 holy shit when Lupa did his voice i really thought that was a part of the show. Had me weak 💀
Kudos to Lupa for knowing about Oliver and Company. Not many people do. I love that movie.
been waitin for this one.. TURN IT UP ‼️‼️
Bro this series is lit🔥🔥
No pun intended.
Exciting! I love Korra very much and watched back when it originally aired on Nick
Tenzei
Inherits his fathers: Air Bending skills
Inherits his mothers: Narrating skills
I forgot how strong the first season was, especially the first episode. They hit you with a lot of amazing animation and interesting technological advances, and the logical conclusions to what living in a city full of benders and non-benders would feel like.
Yeah I definitely think way to much people compare it to Atla, I was confused when watching it because I thoroughly enjoyed it and didn't know what people were talking about saying it's bad.
FINALLY WE ARE HERE!! cant wait to REWATCH the whole series with yall and watching Sheera making excellent predictions! 🤣😂👍
ugh i love seeing black reactors. fuels my spirit and soul mhm
The animations in fights in this show are amazing 👍🏾
Man that opening picture of the old crew is so dope
Literally just went on my break. God is good
yesssss lets freakin go i been up for the whole day waiting 4 dis reaction yessirrr
"They went back and raided that owl's library" Im dead xD
This story takes place roughly 70 years after The Last Airbender.
In ATLA, they had steam powered machines. That is really an accurate depiction of how fast technology advanced between the invention of steam power, and the internal combustion engine, and the modern city.
In real life, that change happened extremely fast. So that sudden upgrade in technology is accurate. It really did happen in less than a century.
THANK YOU
people always forget this, thatnk you
@@yukijames1321 Except it is a blend of Asian cultures , The city, clothing, architecture, model of the cars, style of the shops, the writing being used . They all have been styled from places like 1920s Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Theres really close to nothing western about it.
@@angelsrageunleashed5441 except it is, the city resembles turn of the century Hong Kong
fun fact : tenzin was voiced by J.K. Simmons
i only realized this earlier because he was not quite in his usual tempo
😂😂😂😂😂
There’s so much to this show that I love but the amount of times it well y’all know what I’m talking about
I dont
Get this amazing show amazing writers quality animation it’s just the petty love triangle and a few other things but other than that it’s straight
@@c.d.eproductions6245 who cares about the love triangle lmao, acting as if a couple of scenes is the entire series. Sit down
Andre Johnson be calm for it is an opinion and nothing more
@Last Earthbender no it didn’t, the plot wasn’t even about the triangle and it was only a couple of scenes, how many times have you watched the show?
FINALLY. THANK YOU
Great reaction. Can't wait for the next one.
That intro was sick your editing skills are some of the best I've seen
when they see zuko, iroh ima finna cry 😭😭😭😭
Sokka got screwed over the most by this series. We don't know if he's:
Married
Has Kids
How he died
Relationship w/ Aang's kids
i’m late but i swear i’m so mad thinking of that everytime i rewatch korra, still don’t understand why they did that
"It's nice to see you again twinkletoes!"
I'VE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS!!! YESSSSSS
I wish people knew that these reactions are recorded months before and they are finished 😭
im back on this journey again, just finished Aang with yall for this 3rd time lol, now to restart Korra for the 3rd time again lol
Tenzin is my favourite character of this show he is voiced by Academy Award winning actor JK Simmons who played J Jonah Jameson in the Sam Rami Spider-Man films
It can be seen that this is set almost in 1920s New York
1920s Hong Kong
is no one going about how dope that into actually was
“Get that Naga outta here” omg please!!! 😭😭
I'm so fucking stoked to watch y'all watch this series. I love this series it's so fun.
I always forget how incredible the animation is in this series. Just look at the lighting effects, its incredible
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR ALMOST TWO WEEKS LETS GOOOOOO
Tenzin got his temper from his mom no doubt
Lin definitely inherited tophs hand signals
Korra did the I’m watching you sign like katara did when the gang first found toph
I so wanted Korra to hit Lin with a "water triiibe" like Sokka
@@mahgeetahh trueeeeee
It feels like way in the future because of the advancment in technology, but don't forget people during the industrial revolutions also lived in such quick changing times.
I'm surprised no one has talked about how much the Southern Water Tribe has improved since Katara and Sokka's days. They were living in igloos in the intro for ATLA, and now we see them living in legit houses in TLOK intro. I had a lot of feels to see how much they were able to rebuild the Southern Water Tribe.❤
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS
ive watched korra probably 5 times but watching other people watch it for the first time is still so good
I'm late AF and I'm sure someone explained this already but the reason why Republic City is so developed is because it's essentially all the best minds from all over the world coming to this progressive place.
