Original is on my playlist. Listen to this every night at work here in 2023 still. 57 yrs. old. The 70's were the best time for music and movies. And weed. lol
A good song means different thing to different people. For me I sang this to my daughter when she was a baby and crying at night. Now 25 years later she faces an uncertain future as she was diagnosed with an ultra rare form of liver cancer two years ago this last August. After 3 major surgeries and a minor one to repair the scar tissue in under two years she has no evidence of disease. Still i can't help but wipe away a tear when I listen to this.
Keep it up brother. The Lord has granted you a miracle once and surely He is not going to take it back. You keep praying and have faith. God bless us all...
It has been another 2 years since I wrote that comment and so far all of her scans have been good. Another one is coming up in a week or two. Thank you for your well wishes. And she knows she has been given a second chance and is taking advantage 8f that gift.
We saw Andy a couple of years ago at Casino Rama he was fantastic and looks and sounds great. Such a nice man talked about his family and up bringing was so genuine and friendly. Can't wait to get another chance to see him in concert again.
I had forgotten about this song but it is definitely worth remembering. I was 11 & it grade school. The 1970’s had great music. Can comment how good this guy looks. That was 50 years ago so he’s got to be in his 70’s at least.
Bought his self titled album in Boots , Swansea, Wales, UK in 1974, when Rock Me Gently wa top of the charts. Just can't understa how he did not have more hits in the UK and many other countries. What a great singer!
I've seen a concert video where the singer had to go and stand behind the guitarist to get the spotlight on him during his solo - how do folks get jobs doing lights and camera like that?
Love this tune. I was 13 and starting 7th grade when this hit #1. Side note - Dean Parks and Larry Carlton were the session guitarists. It doesn't get much better than Dean and Larry. Nice job Andy! jc
….and don’t forget Michael Omartian on keyboards !! That clavinet solo is incredible, and without using a wa wa pedal…Micheal knew exactly what it would take to make it a masterpiece. In fact, all the credit to the arranger (Omartian), who took a two chord only song (C-F7), and made it pop !! That’s why these studio guys like Omartian, Parks, and Carlton were all top call studio players. 👏👏👏
💕Hey Terry B.💕... I think he performed this for you (us). Funny I stumbled upon this video tonight, just when I was feeling so sad. I love and miss you, hun. R.I.P. 💕 (Thanks for the memories, AK)
Not the greatest rendition of this song, but hey, the man and these musicians are singing and performing it 100% live, and that's a wonderful thing to see these days 😊😊
Wasn't my kind of music then, and isn't now, but it certainly does bring back memories of the 70's when it was playing everywhere. Congrats to Andy on his induction into the Hall of Fame
He still got it
Oh, has he ever! Super sexy!
Still a wonderful song in 2022. I'm sitting here at 3am, with a glass of wine and swaying to this gem.
Cheers from Australia!
Love from Canada !!

He was massive when I was a teenager. It's really good to see and hear him still doing his craft.
I have always asked myself why he is underplayed on radio beyond this song. He had so many
Heard this on the radio today. Excellent song!
The man is a national treasure. Bless.
I love the color of the guitar and drums

He's a Canadian just like me! Love it. Great tune. This song came out just before I was born. Always lived it.
Is there anyone that doesn't secretly sing along with this song? :-)
Heck, I sing this at Karaoke. Everyone digs it!
I sing it from the mountain tops!
I don't quite sing along but I sure do "TRY".....sounds pitiful...... haha
It’s not very secret…
Not secretly! Loud and proud!
Wonderful! An aging rocker having fun. Fabulous. What all old rockers should see. GREAT!
Great song and I've always loved the funky keyboard part at 2:35
Where the hell was the cameraman during that solo? Why are we watching other people watch the keyboard player when he's rocking that hard?
I've seen a concert video where the singer had to go and stand behind the guitarist to get the spotlight on him during his solo - how do folks get jobs doing lights and camera like that?
Congrat's long over-due Andy! GREAT SONG!
He's still handsome!

Absolutely love ❤❤❤
Love this song, it was very popular in the 70's!
Such a great song
Why did it take almost 45 years to get this acknowledgement? At least B. T. O. and the Guess Who got in a little bit quicker.
At the age of 2, at the time I already loved this song
He looks great, great to see him. Not the 70's but pretty good
💕Hey Terry B.💕...
I think he performed this for you (us). Funny I stumbled upon this video tonight, just when I was feeling so sad.

Hi from Regina, Canada. It's cold here minus 27.
YES!!!
Not the greatest rendition of this song, but hey, the man and these musicians are singing and performing it 100% live, and that's a wonderful thing to see these days 😊😊
For those who weren't fortunate enough to experience the 70's, you just don't know.
Wasn't my kind of music then, and isn't now, but it certainly does bring back memories of the 70's when it was playing everywhere. Congrats to Andy on his induction into the Hall of Fame
Still. Belleza. Oct. 2023
My entire life up to a few years ago I always thought this was Neil Diamond singing this song 😂
Rock Me Gently!!
Still love this song. Would love to know the names of the members of his band that were with him.
