In iOS, OTPs will be deleted immediately after use. So it's sightly better. Also, on android, not everyone uses Google messages. Most smartphone manufacturer have their own messaging app as default and not Google messages, so they don't end up using it. About other features, that you don't find useful, that's ok. You don't have to find every feature useful. Someone else will find some other feature useful.

In case of beam, you had to bump the backs and press the option to send. Also, it didn't work across all Android phones

Actually, the full wallpaper contacts are already in place or was in place in some Android , not sure though but its copied from android actually. Also, photos in Ios whatever you are saying is already in place in Google photos app and we can right now tap to check the information, google lens.
