    One thing I will always love about Kevin, is that he is a fan just like all of us, but unlike some Disney vloggers and reviewers, he doesn't just say everything is amazing I love Disney!!! No, Kevin is honest and gives really helpful pointers while maintaining his love and appreciation of Disney. I will say I have been looking forward to Tron, so this is good to know so if there are really long lines I know not to wait. I'll probably ride it once though to see how it is. (Edit: I said I would still try the ride, all I meant was that if it has like a 260 minute wait or something, I'd rather ride a ride i know is good that I enjoy. I've seen enough of Kevin's videos to know how he critiques things and I am capable of forming my own opinion. So if you're gonna reply only to tell me to try the ride or that Kevin is always looking for the worst of everything please dont. I am capable of enjoying the way he reviews things and I know not to let him do my thinking for me.)

      Yeah last few videos I've watched have been a bit on the negative and melodramatic side. Kinda like he's looking for things to pick apart and complain about. This ride looks fun as hell and I'll try it no matter what 🤷. There seems to be favoritism towards Universal... And that's coming from someone that prefers Universal.

      I mean Tron gonna be virtual queue and Lightning lane. So just like Guardians you aren’t gonna be waiting long. Tron isn’t a better coaster then guardians. But it’s a good addition to the park

      Disney won't like it - but they should... vloggers just blowing smoke up there arses all the time and saying everything is wonderful is counter productive... Criticism - as long as it's justified - is necessary so they can improve... let's face it, Disney have set themselves up to be held to a higher standard than all other theme parks so they need to live up to that!

    Just rode it last week for a after hours event. I'm 230 and 6ft with an issue on my upper left abdomen that I was wondering about to see if it would hurt, but didn't have a problem at all. The rubber padding was surprisingly comfortable and laying on my stomach laying forward felt actually nice. Was pleasantly comfortable. My only issue with it was it was EXTREMELY short feeling, it was smooth, fun, not really intense at all beyond the launch, but way too short for anything beyond a 20 minute wait in my opinion. Felt about as long as flight of the hippogriff at Universal if you've ridden that. All the complaining in this video I didn't get a single hint of in my ride on it except length, that's a real review of it.

    This has been the most accurate review I've seen on TH-cam so far. Only thing I haven't heard anyone else say is how bad the sound is in the ride. It's unnecessarily loud. I got off the ride with my ears ringing.

    Bottoms line is they haven’t finished it but they had to open because Splash is closed and they need the queue capacity. Nobody is going to want to ride it during the day and virtual queues will mean a huge number of people will be disappointed.

      I just left without getting a ride. I saw a dramatic increase in people heading towards tomorrow land around dusk. I knew they were headed for tronn. All day I saw people huddled up and sitting on the ground around the ride. Come to find out its 27 dollars per person via VQ and all seats were sold prior to midnight the night before. A one pm window opens but you have a better chance of hitting the powerball. Afterwards booking and spending thousands of dollars to get to disney you will be dissatisfied and wont be able to ride the newest most hyped rides. This is some weirdo shit and its goofy as fuck and makes me not want to spend money on rainbow mickey.

    Not sure how Disney could design the ride vehicle better for the huge guests swamping the park, besides doing what Universal did on Hagrids, which is basically to have a normal coaster seat that looks like a motorbike, completely ruining the immersion of being on a lightcycle. It was very thoughtful of them to design the back car the way they did but I'm glad they kept the experience in tact for the healthier guests.

    Thank you for honestly reviewing this one. I had my doubts with this ride. Disney can make excuses that are a dime a dozen. yes, I understand it started way before the pandemic, but the point is they were working on this ride over five years when it comes down to the actual ride, makes me wonder who’s making these decisions. I appreciate the honest review. Most people say yeah it’s good ride and don’t add anything that’s negative to it because let’s face it there’s good points, and bad points to every ride..

    We rode Tron with my sister’s cast member preview, and I have to say the area is really cool at night with all the lighting syncing to the music and having seen Tron years ago I was so excited to ride. However, I was pretty disappointed with how the Tron workers acted like they were above us and that the ride was so short for how long we waited. Definitely fun, but the indoor portion consists of a bunch of shapes. I was expecting maybe like the other team riding by the whole time or maybe like lightDiscs flying by. Idk, I was expecting Thunder mountain and got Barnstormer.

    Thank you for this!!! Tron is the Abercrombie of rides. Intentionally exclusive - even with the “inclusive” ride car. Longer and better launch coasters abound, making this ride is 100% about the ride vehicle. The “inclusive” ride vehicle allows them to check off a box. Nothing more. Walt would be disappointed.

    I rode it yesterday at the cast preview and going outside was the best part and when you went back inside it was anticlimactic in Shanghai I know the ride is exactly the same i just they changed a few things ( like ride vehicles, and added more scenes) (ps The ride vehicles were not uncomfortable to me because I’m skinny, but I saw some people having a difficult time fitting in them) they literally just copied and paste it from Shanghai to Disney World. But I had a great time I didn’t even have to wait more than 20 minutes it was awesome when it opens to the public in April will I be doing it every time I go to Magic Kingdom probably not

    Thanks Kevin for the honest review, and hitting some key points! You are the only person who has mentioned that it can be straight up embarrassing for some people to have to move back to the larger seats, not just a "so what, your still riding" kind of thing. When I saw how short the ride was, I was stunned. That's under a minute for sure, maybe 40 seconds? I think its awesome that its not nessicarily "thrilling", but as the mom of a kid with ASD and sensory sensitivity , there is no way my son (8) would ride it after being in dark, small, and loud queues with warnings playing every 30 seconds. And he loves roller coasters =( I know you can't check all the boxes, but I feel like Disney hardcore dropped the ball on this.

    People touching the glass in the first place is so disrespectful. These are cast members and friends of the cast, I feel they should know better and think about their co-workers. We can't even have nice looking things as Americans just destroy, steal, and mess with stuff.
    Also, there are touch points on the side you get your stuff out that tell you the locker number. So they did think through the locker system.

    My one concern about this ride was that 5 years is a long time, things changed and technology improves. So when it came to style and technology my concern was will this ride already be dated or stuck in 2018 by the time it opens and I’m not too sure judging by what I’ve seen online if it has been able to meet that 2023 standard

  • @Christy-fv6bx
    @Christy-fv6bx ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Looks a bit uncomfortable, and I’m sure in Shanghai they are more polite and don’t put their handprints on the glass or draw pictures on it, that’s why we can’t have nice things here. I rode it twice and going again this weekend and it’s a fun ride with great music with Daft Punk but disappointing on how short it is. As a tron fan and someone who understands the story unlike everyone else waiting for the ride that day there is not much of a plot. It’s going to have a lot of problems with the seats. About 4 people had to get off dude to seat issues and not fitting into the cycle. There is going to be a lot of complaints.

    Rode it in May with my older brother and dear god 😓
    I’m not the biggest roller coaster guy, but we kept seeing the hype and we were like ‘eh, why not?’
    I think my brother enjoyed it for the most part but I think he also complained about feeling cramped on the cycle. I was also uncomfortable; I’m a thicc guy, so being squished in there for what felt like forever wasn’t a fun experience. Again, I’m not the biggest roller coaster fan, so apart from the initial launch and some parts inside, I kept my eyes closed. Also, despite getting my stomach jostled on other rides, Tron was the first that make me feel queasy after riding it 🙃
    But, I also rode this in preparation for Rocking Roller Coaster the next time we go to Disney, so yeah 🙃

    Was really looking forward to your review!! It’s really sad that a ride we’ve been waiting this long for is so meh.
    Totally appreciate your honesty, especially seeing you struggling to figure out the vehicle. I don’t have nuts to crack but I can already tell I’m gonna be super uncomfortable sitting like that! Your knees were locked in from behind too right? That would drive me insane lol

    I think you might be nitpicking this too much crime scene room glass that people's going to touch And it being illuminated by blue light it's kind of cool and kind of gross but I'm pretty sure they're clean. this is just the cast preview so not everything is set up they're efficiency isn't there yet because it's cast preview so maybe go ride it when it opens to see if anything changes cuz there's going to be a lot of changes once it opens to the public / starts passholder preview

    I did ride tron and it’s still the same. I’m a small person but it felt like it didn’t hold me tight enough and I felt lose and it scared me. Plus the ride bruised my ribs so badly that the next day they still hurt. Not really a good ride for smaller people either.

    Now try riding it with an open mind. Enjoy it for what it is. Motorcycles ARE uncomfortable to ride. Yeah it should be longer but Disney doesn't to BIG thrill rides. Go ride Velocicoaster if you want a big thrill. I like the tame rides and no anxiety about a 300 foot drop or 100 kph speeds.

    I think Disney should have all Guests put all items inside the locker. One day a guest is going to take out their phone to record, than the ride has to stop and cast members have to tell the guest to put their phone away. Just a huge mess. I want everyone to just enjoy the ride. Not like the video is going to come out good anyways lol.

    Sounds like it's not anything to stress about riding. I thought it was cool that they included a ride vehicle for people who can't fit in the seats. Considering that Universal doesn't have something like that. But they should've just made the seats more inclusive in the first place.

    This is going to be so bad! It’s like you say the Shanghai public is much smaller and slender, so for us in US that’s just not good. And even people that are “fit” are protesting that they feel super uncomfortable and in pain at some times. This could be very troubling since it could end in law suits. If they wanted to copy a ride from the international parks they should have brought Battle for Sunken Treasure also from Shanghai or Mystic Mannor from Hong Kong Disneyland… or maybe Journey to the Center of the Earth like in Tokyo DisneySea 🥺.
    Another thing its the ride time, this is going to piss so many people after waiting hours for it.
    I would have had two coasters at the same time, one in blue the other in red, and guest could choose which side they wanted, and they would almost crash with each other and compete for the finish line, and would have different sequence in which sometimes the red team would win and in other blue team, then something climatic happening at the end like everything turns to that color and it’s like the Virus or program took over the entire grid… kind of like in Kingdom Hearts 2!

      People are drawn to negativity nowadays. If It's negative, it equates to more views and likes. If he really really loves the ride, it's the opposite that's why he nitpicks on little stuff like the handle bars. It's just the way it is and it's fine.

    • @WindowtotheMagic
      @WindowtotheMagic ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gissneric Yep. I was discussing with a major player in the Disney news media about why they ran negative stuff so often, and they said “that’s what readers want, so that’s what we give them.”
      That is one of the main reasons why we don’t try to live off of our podcast… we could, but then we’d always be trying to follow the money, and we’d prefer to do it because we love Walt’s parks.

    • @gissneric
      @gissneric ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WindowtotheMagic There are valid criticisms and there are just some who just complain for the sake of it. I do agree with the ride being too short and underwhelming but my golly the nitpicking from the smudges of hands on the glass to the handle bars feeling like meat grinders is so over the top. They will literally find ways to see something wrong.

  • @darkinetix

    It’s also awkward for them to tease those different color teams and the competition (on the art in that hallway) as if there’s a racing/dueling element of some sort. They don’t even have different color trains. They just needed a place to try and shove in lore, and they did so in a tacky way.
    Also disappointing that the actress giving instructions in the pre-show doesn’t have a vocal effect applied to give that futuristic vibe, which would have been more faithful to the film , and much better for the ambience and theme.
