I liked Season 1's art style quite a lot, and felt it was very conducive to high action combat scenes. That being said, the first episode of Season 2 blew me away with the fluidity of just very simple motions and the character acting, as well as the unconventional storyboarding. The unconventional storyboarding also just made it feel like something was very slightly off in every scene, which fits the vibe of the Hidden Inventory Arc quite well.
i really like the art style of season 2. it looks more clear and it has the same vibe as the manga. i really love the backgrounds! i'm curius if they are gonna hold the same energy in the shibuya arc incident. i originally thought that the vibe was diffrent because the teachers were younger here, and this matched their energy better.
Yep I mean season 1 had terrible schedule yet they still manages to pull of God tier animation and now they have easier designa with better directing even in s2 ep 1 they showed a lot of background animation instead of mostly character walking animation to save for later episodes yet it still looked magnificent and they have just as good as animators they had for s1 they even have arifumi lmai(guy who did levi vs beast titan) so this season is gonna be just as good but with better compositing
Since csm and jjk shared staff, alot of the staff only changed to jjk after ep 9 of csm. The schedule is still absolutely terrible and from what i know, jjk season 1 was in production 2 years before release?
It wont help alot Maybe to maintain quality in the biggest fight to come But you will notice some drop in quality later on tho But with these simple character design it wont be that impactfull It will still look good
MAPPA has done so many different styles but the one thing they all have in common is they faqin hit. The campfire cooking anime mappa made this past winter has a lot of the style they're using here in jjk season 2
I’m mostly worried how Mappa is going to fit everything into 24 episodes. Last season covered 7.5 volumes. Where they’re starting now in the story is larger than that.if they’re going to end after Shibuya
I think the only thing that bothered me is that it felt clunky/ choppy in a lot of places.. characters’ movements felt off and weird. The way the walk, turn.. is there a reason for this? I’m not an expert and just want to understand. Didn’t feel this with s1
@@poyziN_just watch the next episode, then the episode after that, and once you’ve finished the season come back and tell me ur opinion - ur judging a book by its cover
Same for me. Sure movements were smooth but it felt odd. Of course there are a lot of new animation styles implemented into this like chainsaw man but I prefer 1st season's animation(More depth and more darker atmosphere). And there is also the fact that 1st season's director specialized more on hand to hand combat which played huge role on battle animations while second season's director Shōta Goshozono does better job on artistic level.
The first episode was animated beautifully of jjk season 2 but don’t over hype it and say it’s the best animated episode when it’s not, best cut directed maybe but todo and yuji vs hanami, yuji and nobara vs blood brothers, and maki fights are definitely the best animated groups of episodes.
@@vriendloos3242 No, no, no he said best looking thats fine but then he brings up the animation and says "It fixes everything wrong I had with season 1" which means when he is saying "Best looking" he is also including the animation in the package which I disagree with. If he said the art direction and backgrounds were better I would agree but he is talking about the art and animation as a package which I already stated season 1 for right now has better animation than season 2 with 1 episode out.
@@debunkedbyeren You chose your words carefully until you brought up animation in your statement you should've just said "This is the best looking art direction and this season has fixed most of my issues with the background's of jjk season 1." because when you say "best looking" and then talk about animation right after that I think you're combining both art style and animation into one.
@constantdreams7918 again you can be best looking without being the beat "animated" I was very specific about it my guy I have a feeling you're choosing to be dense
Am i the only one who thinks that Season 1 was so much better? I hate how the background and the characters have different styles, it feels like the characters are using a green screen like they don't belong to the scenes. Less details also made it look cheap like they rushed it even during running scenes or fast paced movement the character's bodies gets deformed and weird. I started watching jjk because i felt like it looked like an upgraded version of my favourite animes (HxH for example) but now im very disappointed. Im happy for the people that like this new style. this is just my opinion.
It's very similar to manga so if you want to complain go for it. And the background and the characters are perfectly done. Where as if you looks at S1 that shii look like it was done in a rush, the character acting is very good in s2 but we didn't get to see it in S1. Also THE AUTHOR ( Gege Akutami) himself was HEAVILY in involved in the making of S2 ,so if you want to blame, blame the author. This is the way we wanted to present jjk.
@@Ljay_out No in the manga both the background and characters had the same level of detail. not a detailed 3d computer generated wall with a shiny 2d character that moves like a flipbook. even head movement feels like its in slow motion.
@@poyziN_ So, you are basically telling me that the anime version is inferior to manga where gege does not draw 12 fps but a still image. Bro Gege is involved in the making of S2. Unlike S1. THIS IS HOW HE WANTED TO PRESENT JJK. If we were to get the production from S1 we would hardly get 5 episodes without choppy animation. JJK is the best new gen anime no doubt
the main thing i miss is gojos eyes standing out more with the clouds and the shiny blue
