What people fail to understand is Geto COMPLETELY gave up on training. We even see Gojo after the Toji incident trained for the sole purpose of never having a Riko situation again. He trained his limitless to always be on, he trained and made his hollow purple bigger and stronger, he trained to use his blue and red better and stronger. Geto was the friend that was having a major mid life crisis and no one noticed. He stopped training, just went on missions and sucked down curses over and over again. He was too focused on the cold reality of his existence as a sorcerer. He would not be as strong as Gojo by any means but if he trained and stayed good alongside Gojo he’d be number 2 and most likely have a domain expansion and have learned a bunch of other things. The reason people think Geto is weak is because we saw him as a young adult and never at his true potential if he stayed true like Gojo and trained his ass off he’d be extremely more powerful.

Remember when mai fought that cursed spirit inside it's domain expansion. I know that was kenjaku controlling it but I like the idea that the reason geto doesn't have a domain is because his ability allows him to use that of his spirits.
