Live Edge Bowl from Catalpa Wood - Simple Demonstration with Commentary - Wood Turning Video

Live edge bowl from catalpa wood. Using a Midi Lathe from PennState Industries demonstrating simply the steps to make a bowl. This video shows clearly steps needed to make a bowl from a log. Tools used include carbide tip turning tools along with a 4 jaw chuck. There is commentary to clarify the names of the items, the techniques as well as close up contact of the tool and the wood. The techniques are repeatable for other woods and turning projects. There is a demo showing sharpening carbide tip tools.

Great video but. You need to look at some famous wood turners, they do the same wood but also use good design elements. The bottom of a bowl is just as important as the inside, you left yours, well I would say unattractive . Good luck and have fun turning.

Not really eating upside down, or..... Remember only selective bottoms can be attractive. LOL
