Personally I don't think the paper Mario and other spinoffs should be taken into account since they're different continuities and add characters who appear nowhere else.

I don't really see any reason for the spin-offs to be non-canon. Many aspects of spin-offs have appeared in mailine games such as many of the costumes in Oddysey, or the entire character of Toadette.

@@SambergerTheories I see what you mean but I personally disagree since costumes in oddysey are references but its just my opinion

@@SambergerTheories Personally, I'd think of it as more of a _Ben 10 Omniverse_ type scenario. They're equally real, they just run in parallel to each other as separate universes with different laws of physics and separate histories. Paper Mario and 3D Mario are both equally Mario, just independent of each other (like Ben Prime vs all those alternate Bens). There's also the _wrinkle_ that Paper Jam puts in, both confirming them as separate worlds yet also trying to claim the Paperverse is fiction...??? Or hell, we could spork a more direct Omniverse concept: the fact that the art-style changes across the series _happened in-universe_ because the Celestialsapiens felt like trolling everyone. In _that_ interpretation, it really is all one single timeline in one single universe, it's just whatever the Marioverse's equivalent of Alien X's species are, randomly decides to swap up the art style between 3D, M&L sprites, Paper, and so on...

@@hokton8555 TOK actually explains that one iirc. Manufactured Bob-Ombs (like Bobby) are a separate species that _doesn't_ survive self-exploding (presumably this also applies to every random-encounter Bob-Omb in the entire series), while the NPC Bob-Ombs in TTYD/64/etc are... is "naturally born" the right word... either way, they're quite literally "built different" and can blow themselves up indefinitely and still survive.
