Thanks Vanessa for the question! Always appreciate them all, you know!
I was pretty surprised 'cause there were quite a lot of phrases I haven't known before indeed!
Such as "Come again?", "How's that?", "Do what?", "Say what?", "Sorry, I didn't catch what you said", "Can you run by that me again?", "Could you be more specific, please?", "Let me make sure I understand this right..."(this was absolutely new for me, thanks so much!) and some others as well.
I've just got a PDF from you and I'm really happy to know more! I usually like printing out all of the PDFs as documents and put them up on the wall over my desk! Real reminder really works!

    Alternatives for "what?"
    - Sorry?
    - Sorry, what'd you say?
    - Sorry, can you say that again?
    - What was that?
    More casual ways
    - Come again?
    - How's that?
    - Do what?
    - Say what?
    - Sorry, one more time?
    Professional ways
    - Sorry, I didn't catch what you said, can you repeat that again?
    - Can you run that by me again?
    - Could you rephrase that for me?
    - When you say (x) do you mean (y)?
    - Could you be more specific, please?
    - Can you elaborate on that?
    - I'm sorry, can you repeat that?
    - Let me make sure I understand this right / Just to clarify .....(rephrase what they said in your own understanding)

But everytime when I was chatting with other Americans especially when I kept saying "sorry, say again" made people annoying I just realized I can only be an English Master just because of Vanessa's extraordinary pronunciation.
