I’ve taught myself English and I’m happily surprised that I’m aware of 95% of the idioms presented here 😊. Thank you for a beautiful and interesting video Lucy💕
This is definitely one of Lucy's best videos ever! She's done similar stuff before, like teaching 100 idioms, but this time she's made up for the previous letdown by providing an eBook for the lesson. Lucy, we love you!
-I’m going to have a whale of a time with new video about idioms. -When I firstly practiced English with native, I was having a time of my life. -I haven’t got a lot of time for myself, nevertheless I took time for language learning and reading, full of the joys of spring. -Release of new video about idioms made my day. -Lucy’s audience is in raptures about new video.
Lucie, I feel an obligation to thank you twice: for the excellent and immensely rich selection of expressions and remarkably proportional comments; not too long, not too short. Chapeau! Vraiment!
So, I'm actually a native English speaker. (American English) But I've been learning some new things and reinforcing some good habits. It's been helping me with some writing and your accent has been a good starting point for a character I'm performing in a group of mine. I wanted to do the English language justice in all of my creative pursuits and thank you so much for the free resources that have helped.
Flash in the pan, the whole nine yards, three sheets tobthe wind,... As English speakers we speak so naturally in idioms that it takes conscious effort to communicate without them.
Miss Lucy your english is comprehensive which everyone can understand it properly it is my suggestion to all the native English speakers that they should speak like you From india

Wow! It’s very nice to notice that we’ve got some idioms in common in Portuguese, too! But it’s interesting that “to kick the bucket” has a very different meaning over here in Brazil - it means “to lose the temper” or “throw everything up in the air’”! 😆 Thank you so much, dear Lucy! 🤗

Hey Lucy. I'm a native English speaker, but when learning German, I found that advertisers play with idioms quite a lot. Perhaps you could present some English examples for your students.
Hello Lucy ,, you are an amazing inspirational educator , i really enjoyed your relaxed and pleasant way go through these lessons, please make one videos about IELTS general letter and essay with vital phrases ❤
Thank you for this, it’s good to get a reminder of some of these idioms. I’m Swedish and I’m pretty good at English, but I didn’t know all of these, for instance I thought “to paint the town red” meant specifically “to go on a murder spree”, as I’d learnt it from some film or similar where they must have been using it ironically to describe the murder spree, but I took it literally (it made sense to me because, well, red blood and so on).
Hello Lucy :) Learning and using idioms is my cup of tea :) So, I love the video :) We have also some of them in Turkish. For example 25= Where there is fire, there is smoke= Ateş olmayan yerden duman çıkmaz. 28= a storm in a tea cup= Pireyi deve yapmak etc. Thank you so much ! Greetings from Türkiye👋Çağlar.
