What do you want Dolby vision for? Are you using your monitor as a home theater? Neither ps5 or pc can use it properly, you'd have to get a deadbox or a streaming stick and figure out audio.
@kaiichinose9590 gotcha, yeah, it'd be nice to have dp 2.1 on all future oled monitors, although I don't mind compression at all, so I picked the msi mpg 4k over the gigabyte one that's 350 extra for that feature.
Have to say I have totally changed my tune on the monitor I bought originally coming from my brighter ROG Swift PG27UQ monitor to this Oled 4k PG32UCDM HDR originally I thought it was too dark. but since I have the monitor for 6 weeks now and set it up properly it has been great and plenty bright enough and actually it makes sense now proper 400 dark values makes sense, in fact I use either the hdr10 or dolby vision true dark and its both excellent but its the whites that show up more too ironically or not. personally i would never buy a monitor thats not a proper shape like 3840x2160 iwould do 5k but it wouldnt be widescreen
My dream monitor would be the same pixel pitch as current 42" OLED TVs, but slightly wider for true cinema 4k res, 4096x2160. QD-OLED, glossy, 2000+nit peaks and 200+ full screen sustained with no ABL in SDR and no dimming over time on static images. 100% DCI-P3 coverage with enough accuracy to calibrate for VFX work as well as gaming.

Focusing on sustained 24/7 full screen brightness of 600 nits at both SDR and HDR. Also for all WOLED it would be nice to have Dolby Vision for cinematic experience. The last thing is why not cover ones seen in gaming laptops? And a glossy coating, of course. Gonna look SOOO fucking smooth n crisp, baby! I can't wait :D It'll last a good decade or so, which ought to be enough time for MicroLED to not only improve even further somehow, but also become the new consumer standard in the industry; just like OLED has been for the past 4 years now It'll truly be end-game display tech until we somehow figure out how to make cost-effective, sci-fi like ultra high-res 3D hologram displays or virtual displays through advanced implanted brain chips or something lmao in retrospect: thank fuck we EVER managed to escape the several decades long asphyxiating death grip of shitty IPS/VA LCD display technology, so that we could finally have (vastly) better products and make significant, rapid advancements in R&D for the future of display technology

For starters the 5090 will actually run anything at 8K120. Right now I'm running Flight Sim 2020 supersampled to 5K on the 7900XTX, average framerate is around 90fps but it goes up and down mostly dependent on the CPU bottleneck, which means I almost always have GPU headroom and 5K is more balanced than trying to hold 4K120, and if I'm running native 5K right now that would only look even better upscaled to 8K.
@@cenciende9401 Tomb Raider 2013 runs a solid 6K120 on the 7900XTX, which you'd be right to point out isn't 8K, but 6K will look a heck of a lot better on an 8K monitor than it does on a 4K monitor. Any time I want to go back and re-play a 10 year old game most of my GPU power is wasted trying to hold to just 4K resolution.
How are we not getting high refresh 4k to pair with 5090. Will be a shitty year if this is all that releases. Whats the point of releasing 4k 240 27 inch, might as well just give the 32's a 27 inch mode. Should be seeing at least 4k 360 next year
What would you say are odds of Dell / Alienware releasing some 32" flat OLED this year? I'm eyeing this variant but it's only available from other brands, which are way too expensive in my country (Dell are always significantly cheaper here for some reason).
Probably low. They already had the option to make the Alienware AW3225QF (a 32" QD OLED) be flat, but they specifically chose it to be curved. The competing monitors from LG, Asus, Samsung, MSI, etc, that use the same panel almost all chose the flat variant.
I’m currently debating on whether I should pull the trigger on the 57in Samsung monitor. While having it in OLED panel with glossy panels sounds incredible, I personally spend more time working than gaming, and my work requires having mostly static charts on the screen for 8+hrs/weekdays so a burn in would be a great concern unfortunately 😢 If tech developers can create an oled panel w/o any risk of burn in, that’d be absolutely incredible…
I hope Samsung takes a leaf out of LG's book, and they make a QD-OLED 32" dual mode 1080p(480Hz)/4k(240Hz) monitor. Literally the only thing making me wait it out and see, is that QD-OLED is (imho), so much better than WOLED for gaming, but the LG monitor is perfect in every other respect.

HDR is trash tech, disable it...
@@drunkhusband6257 Explain. Trash how?
What do you want Dolby vision for? Are you using your monitor as a home theater? Neither ps5 or pc can use it properly, you'd have to get a deadbox or a streaming stick and figure out audio.
@@TheRanscat Dolby vision not really a need but a nice have. But DP 2.1 is a must for me esp with the new cards coming with it.
@kaiichinose9590 gotcha, yeah, it'd be nice to have dp 2.1 on all future oled monitors, although I don't mind compression at all, so I picked the msi mpg 4k over the gigabyte one that's 350 extra for that feature.
gloss is boss. i'd be interested in the 5120x2160 panel but it has to be glossy. been using gloss since 2020 and don't wanna go back to matt.
10:44 I would love to see an OLED G9, 7680x2160 240hz pairs perfectly with driving games but it needs to be OLED.
Waited for this. Still using a 16:9 QHD Display with Nano IPS and with continusly rising UW Support im thinking about buying a 21:9 curved monitor.
Mini or Micro LED would be great, i cant and dont want to afford a new oled every few years.
But if it comes that there will be only flat Panels with mini LED, the best pick would be the 39" 5k QD Oled i think.
800R is crazy I dont want to sit so close I can feel the heat off the monitor. I'll just use my VR headset at that point. It'll probably be cheaper anyway.
What I want to see, is DP 2.1a on the monitors, so you don't have to use DSC.
WIth an 800R curve, I would be interested to see how they would overcome the self reflections that would occur if they were to use a glossy screen.
5k curved 39inch? That's a yes from me! Not sure if I want it glossy or matt though. I have a 34 ultrawide in matt right now and i am pretty happy. Reflections are really annoying. I am not a Teenager sitting in a dark room all day.
Lol I just got the 32" Alienware 4K 240 QD-OLED earlier this year. But if they offer a 5120x2160 glossy QD-OLED at 39'+ with better brightness, i'll upgrade again lol.
Same, absolutely stunning display. I'd ditch it for 8K 240HZ in a heart beat with a 5090 /Titan and Ryzen 9000x3D CPU. Display Port 2.1 minimum, but 4K 480hz / 8K 240HZ Dream OLED is the end game until 16K
@@androidx99 ur gonna get 2 fps at 8k even with a 5090 lol. 8k gaming at 120hz is still atleast 3-4 generations away in terms of GPU power
@@androidx998k just doesn't make a lot of sense tbh. With 20/20 vision and a 32" 4k monitor you have to get closer than 60cm to make out individual pixels. If you're gaming like a normal human being 8k will just slow you down (unless you're playing in VR) and eat up resources better spend on other aspects in games instead of resolution.
@@malogor2127 I have 20/15 Vision currently. When viewing the monitor as a whole there are perceptibilty visual information being added going from 4K to 8K, just because the typical layman will consider 1440p to be fine, but they cared at all and had the hardware to push it 4K is significantly sharper and more detailed. 4K has 2.25x the amount of visual information to process. For those wired and capable of seeing it consistently it a meaningful and impact difference in immersion and increases the appreciation for the art that video games and other media are. 8K is FOUR TIMES the amount of Visual Information compared to 4K. Once the point is reach that ANY consumer grade hardware can push it and we are able to enjoy it on a high refresh rate 8K 32" Monitor, it'll make 4K look like 1080p, by comparatively rational numbers
@@androidx99why the fuck you would you need 8k on a monitor that would be legit pointless. 32” at 1440p already looks outstanding. Doing 4k I cant even imagine how good that looks. 8k would be unplayable
Just want a glossy (not semi-gloss, but tv glossy) mini-led with full array local dimming (I will use it for gaming, watching and productivity) DP2.1, KVM and usb c with DP alt mode and power enough for my laptop. 4k either 27 inchs or 32. Dolby visison for said watching.
I would like to see more esports grade tandem OLED, especially need 1080p 24 inch size at native 540-600Hz refresh rate and VRR range of 1-600Hz. Focusing on sustained 24/7 full screen brightness of 600 nits at both SDR and HDR. Also for all WOLED it would be nice to have Dolby Vision for cinematic experience. The last thing is why not cover ones seen in gaming laptops? Gaming laptops need LTPO tandem OLED as well at 1080p/WUXGA and 1600p, and need up to 480Hz and focus on lifespan and sustained full screen brightness as above. All need to be HDR10+ certified as well.
8k makes more sense at 32. You’d basically scale to 200% and have room + sharpness. I couldn’t imagine scaling lower.
Lg 45” with 5120 by 2160 looks solid. Hoping this works for productivity use case
Bro, it's a shame that Gigabyte, Xiaomi or TCL don't come out with a 42-inch screen. It's difficult to get something that size and that's QLED. In the end, they keep insisting on woled, which doesn't shine at all and the colors are inferior. Let's hope that this tandem improves things and that, as a tech tuber, the brands will give you more information. Regards, my friend.
I'm rocking my 4k 144hrz ips panel monitor on the meantime 😊
I’ve been waiting for those LG 5120x2160 for so long now. Considering 39” but not sure if it will fit, currently have a 34” at 3440x1440
I already got the 321UPX, so I wonder what displays we gonna get sometime 2027 :)
Hope they fix the VRR flicker issues
Not gonna happen with FreeSync, it has existed since the beginning.
I am waiting for 30'' with ratio 16:10 (extra vertical space) + ≥120 Hz + 4k. Use-Case: Dual or Triple monitor setup
I just wanna have a 27" 1440p 240-250hz tandem WOLED w/ glossy coating and uhbr10 + full speed hdmi 2.1 ports (so no dsc). I guess I'll have to wait an eternity for a display with those specs to materialize.

Just glad I bought a LG G4 55" as my main. Don't see anything significantly better now or next year which fits _my_ use case.
The LG 27 4k RGB is end game for me, ofc if it's glossy.
I would love a 27 inch, 4k 240hz that can turn into 1440p 480hz (Probably not possible eh?)
Pretty sure 4k and 1440p don't scale well but 1080p is doable, maybe in the future we'll get like 1080p 720hz or something lol

Dude that is all I want. I want a higher brightness oled with black frame insertion so I can run at 240hz and still get great brightness.
I know u guys gonna stone me but i love my 32gs95UE and its speakers. I tried the aw3225qf but it was not for me unfortunately but i loved the integrated powerbrick wish more monitors would come with that feature.

I want a new 49 inch qd OLED in white and the only one in the market ATM is the Philips evnia 8900 and 8900L
Asus needs to fix their current 4k 240hz qd oled. A lot of people are experiencing black screen issues while randomly watching a video or playing games. This has been happening for months and they have no answer for the issue.
Was planning to grab the ASUS 4k 240hz oled, just waiting for the new gpu to come out should I wait to see if they improve the monitor further or go ahead and buy the current 4k asus
Waiting for that LG WOLED with an RGB Tandem pixel layout for the obvious benefits over the competition, aswell as previous OLED technology we've seen thus far throughout the years
Simply require a full DP 2.1 port supporting UHBR 20 bandwidth for that sweet, sweet 240Hz refresh rate @ 4K with Chroma 4.4.4 10Bit color. And a glossy coating, of course. Gonna look SOOO fucking smooth n crisp, baby! I can't wait :D
It'll last a good decade or so, which ought to be enough time for MicroLED to not only improve even further somehow, but also become the new consumer standard in the industry; just like OLED has been for the past 4 years now
It'll truly be end-game display tech until we somehow figure out how to make cost-effective, sci-fi like ultra high-res 3D hologram displays or virtual displays through advanced implanted brain chips or something lmao
in retrospect: thank fuck we EVER managed to escape the several decades long asphyxiating death grip of shitty IPS/VA LCD display technology, so that we could finally have (vastly) better products and make significant, rapid advancements in R&D for the future of display technology
2 dream monitors I want to see
the 27 inch 4k WOLED from LG end of next year. (please be glossy and atleast 1000 Nits)
24 inch 1440p MiniLED with 2000+ Zones
I love 24 inch monitors specifically for games like League of Legends/Starcraft where you can hyper focus on the game itself without much eye movement, everything stays in the peripheral vision.
27 inch 4k WOLED would be crispy, beautiful, and would be a joy for content consumption and creation.
I really want that 27" 8k monitor 😍
That will look insane! Unfortunately it will take a while before that resolution becomes more ubiquitous with a higher refresh rate. We will definitely be into 2035 for that

I really hope next year will be the year that I can finally pull the trigger on a new monitor. Been waiting for years but so many monitors don’t seem to hit my requirements
39" resolution this year was a very bad decision/design. Good to see they are shifting towards higher resolutions. I just hope those new resolutions can work out with the current gpu abilities
I might be in the minority here, but I'd like to see support for eARC on more monitors.
No dual mode 360hz/720hz ?
720hz 😂 wow

Mini led with 5k+ dimming zones sound like the makings of OLED like screen quality with better brightness
These days, every laptop display has a glossy screen and most desktop OLED monitors have matte coatings🤦♂️. Who is making these decisions?
The OLED mattes are not as bad as IPS mattes imo (semi gloss)
@@rowanyuh6326 the thing is, I’d much prefer a matte coating in a laptop, where I won’t be able to control the lighting while on the move. I’d much prefer a glossy coating on a home monitor, where I can control the lighting and positioning better.

@@cenciende9401 th-cam.com/video/oQ9YpJsIELg/w-d-xo.html It'll only take until 2033
Still need the hardware to get the fps
39" is sweet spot
How are we not getting high refresh 4k to pair with 5090. Will be a shitty year if this is all that releases.
Whats the point of releasing 4k 240 27 inch, might as well just give the 32's a 27 inch mode.
Should be seeing at least 4k 360 next year
1440p, 480 Hz, OLED, that has 480 Hz backlight strobing mode, which doesn't reduce the brightness too much is what I need.
All I need is higher PPI. I just can’t go back after using 5k27 and 4k27. 4k32 is not enough.
I have an older g9 which has been great and am looking forward to much higher resolution ultrawides
What is even the point of improving text clarity on an OLED. Is OLED actually capable to cater to this feature now?
All i want is a 4k144+hz miniLED at 32" that doesnt suck, how hard can it be
Really looking forward to 5K OLED options!
i used the ASUS PG32UCDM one day .. and returned it... brightness is no go for these QD-OLED...
Did you use it with lights on ?
Qd OLED has raised black with light, it's meant to be used in the dark
What would you say are odds of Dell / Alienware releasing some 32" flat OLED this year? I'm eyeing this variant but it's only available from other brands, which are way too expensive in my country (Dell are always significantly cheaper here for some reason).
Probably low. They already had the option to make the Alienware AW3225QF (a 32" QD OLED) be flat, but they specifically chose it to be curved. The competing monitors from LG, Asus, Samsung, MSI, etc, that use the same panel almost all chose the flat variant.
8K 180hz would be massive.
Tandem OLED is way less prone to burn in so it's probably your best option as of now
I need 38" 5K QD-MiniLed
In the market for an ultra wide…just can’t make up my mind on make/model.
When 27 OLED 4K release ?
Cool video, thx
Need 49 inch panel with 1000R curve and more than a basic VA panel. Neo G9 is the only decent one and it doesn't cut it with the QA issues.
i wait for 34 inch 4K 480Hz Oled Glossy
The only interesting thing is, is it comming with displayport 2.1 or not what I want to have a 5k display with dp 1.4 haha
If there are fewer matte monitors in 2025 then it’ll be a W in my opinion.
