The most underrated thing about Kennywood is the amount of landscaping they do. Also the park has plenty of shade and benches to make it a pleasant experience
Grew up going to Kennywood!! I'm 49 now. It is a great park! The wooden coasters are my favorite! Although I ride them all! Thank you for the great video!!
It always seems like Phantom is the cut above the rest with operations at this park. They've been consistently been running two trains open to close since you went and the wait maxed at like 45 minutes during the ultra-busy 4th Of July weekend. And when maintenance has no choice but to open it with one train, they almost always put the second train on the second it’s done if they have enough operators. Wish this applied to everywhere else there.
Steel Curtain is the one coaster that terrified me, just looking at it from the parking lot. That ride is insane. Glad I got to ride it. Steel Phantom punched me in the gut with the safety bar. Another thing they need is a single rider line on Thunderbolt, since you can’t ride alone. If you had a separate line, you could dispatch much faster without the ops having to yell for somebody from the line.
@@yourexperienceguide yes, it did. It was closed for the first part of the day when I was there, too. This closure is rumored to be pretty serious and may be something structural. But man, what a ride. Going up the lift hill and peering off to the right looking down the valley makes it seem like you’re twice as high up as you are, plus the Drachen Fire inversion 200’ in the air lift hill is nuts. The rest of the ride has a good mix of speed, airtime, and halftime. It’s a bit of everything. Too bad it wasn’t open for you guys to experience it.
Where did you have a bad experience with an employee, as someone who goes to this incredible top tier park weekly Ive only had good experiences with staff and they have always been very friendly and Polite! I feel bad for you that that happen, for Ive haven't seen any for myself. hopefully it all gets sorted out. I also for the most part don't think there operations are all that bad and feel like they get a bad reputation. Also from my experience Guest Service have always been very friendly and have gone above and beyond. Steel Curtain Opened July 13th And for the most part ran most of the rest of that season without issue, Then idk what was happening in 2020 with the rest of the craziness of that year. 2021, 2022, and 2023 except for random parts of the season when idk what happened its been mostly reliable and opened most days. It is closed to get work done to it to make it run better and more reliable than ever in the future and for next season. Idk how possible it is but if you ever get the chance you should check out there Halloween Event Phantom Fall Fest i think its really good and i think its one of the best in the U.S.A but i am biased. Sense you went they painted a new mural for Thunderbolt, and got Turtle back up and running. Only getting to go on the weekends this year may have made this better, but Ive unless they were working on it or they didn't have it ready yet i almost always seen the Phantom run both trains even at the beginning of the day, and they have gotten batter at doing that more often. Other than the Racer with its slow operating processors and the way they run some of the flat rides i don't really think operations are that bad at all. Kenny wood has and amazing Mix of Old classic rides and Modern day thrillers while have a good collection of everything coasters, Thrill rides, Family Thrill Rides, Family rides, Kidi Rides, Water rides, and dark rides. I am very proud to call Kenny wood my home Park! hope you had a great visit and i hope you come back sometime!
The staff were *mostly* friendly but there was a few instances where they were rude/unpleasant/unprofessional which isn’t a great look for the park. The good far outweighed the bad though. With Steel Curtain, every time I opened a vlog or written review about Kennywood it seemed like this coaster was closed or late to open. Phantom started on one but did go to two. Ops across the park were much better for our 2019 visit compared to this one. I really like the park, no issue with Turtle being closed for essential maintenance at least it’s back open now. We’d definitely come back but I’ve no idea when.
Mark was doing a much bigger trip in the States, Mullet is in the middle of a career change and Mike was planning to come but had to pull out, he will be back. When it was only me and Mark doing vlogs we used to get asked to get others in the vlogs, we’re doing that now and there’s a lot more voices in vlogs than previously. It takes a lot of courage to get in front of a camera so I think it’s better to praise those who are there instead of overlooking them 😊
@@yourexperienceguide yeah I wasn't being funny. I just heard them say earlier in the year they was coming on the trip. And yes I agree the other guys are doing a great job. Especially your Mrs dad. Top guy.
@@manchester1972 Fair enough 😇 Sadly Mark & Mullet were never able to do this trip, but Mike was and unfortunately had to pull out a few days before we were going. It’s not for me to say why, but he’ll be back soon and hopefully in all of the Florida vlogs in November/December 🙏

Thank you, the wooden coasters are great and I wish every park took as much pride looking after their woodies as Kennywood do :)
I wasn’t expecting such a large park when the vlog started. It was huge! Great vlog. I like being shown these parks that I don’t know anything about.
Thank you 😊 It’s a great place
Great vlog scott and the other guys
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you
@@yourexperienceguide no problem Scott, looks like a really good park
Cracking vid as all way
Thank you 🙏
Brilliant vlog
Thank you 😊

It started off on one but thankfully ended the day on two 😇
Looks a good park scott and interesting rides cheers for the vlog mate ❤
Glad you enjoyed it 🎢
Kennywood looked a good amusement park with a great collection of rides & Coaster and old classics like The Whip , Noah's Ark , great vlog too Scott 👍
It’s so good to be able to do their classic rides
Looks like a nice park to visit. I would go purely just to ride the wooden rollercoasters and Phantoms Revenge. 👍
They’re very good, but it’s well worth doing the other stuff too
Good vlog, could you elaborate more on what happened with the rude ride operator, was it as you were boarding? What problem did they have?
Great vlog, Scott! Good thing you didn't let one ride operator ruin your day!
Thank you, it did dampen spirits for a little while but the supervisor handled it extremely well
Did you get to eat at Chick-fil-A? How'd you like it? Wish it was still inside at Cedar Point!
Not this time mate unfortunately

Thank you, it’s on the list for next summer 😊
