  • @farihahdean8642
    @farihahdean8642 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    Top 5 I would have to say:
    1. End e Wafa - it was truly a story about friendship and relationships and how they should be handled. Also the impact of good friendships and relationships and how they can build/shape your character.
    2. Pyar ke Sadqay - feel good drama about love where everything fit together perfectly. They approached a sensitive topics about marriage, ageing, sexual harassment and accepting difficult truths. The Shanzay track dragged and was a bit OTT.
    3. Ye Dil Mera - superb storyline and writing. Every week we waited for the mystery to unravel some more. The different perspectives through which the mystery slowly unravels was very refreshing. The puzzle was revealed through elements of the past and present. It started to drag after the wedding and the khala’s track was annoying. Obviously there were also a lot of inconsistencies which took away from the ‘realism’ element.
    4. Kashf - such a different and unique story. It was a love story, no matter what anyone says. The love between a man and woman, how pure it can be and juxtaposed with the love a person can have for Allah. Her faith was so strong even when she did no wrong she constantly asked for forgiveness. The message was clear, trust Allah, have faith in Allah and do dua. There is no room for anyone to intervene in that relationship. This dragged in the middle a bit too much and started to get annoying at those points.
    5. Alif - amazing storytelling the way it spans generations to show us how being good can sometimes become a burden (Husn e Jahan). How we can misunderstand intentions and how flawed we all are as human beings. Beautiful. The only reason why it is last is because as captivating as it was, feel good moments were very rare, most episodes you come away thinking deep philosophical questions. Not something you watch for entertainment.

    I have few things to talk about fahad mustafa interview, first of all his etiquettes to talk in an interview, calling “tum” to host , put me off, though host was talking so respectful way. Give respect get respect . People need to realize this now, it was not lounge talk, it was an interview to go public. Bcz of his this attitude I really had to work hard to give his thoughts the importance to think without being biased..
    whatever he said mostly I agree about entertainmaunetc thing and not bringing preach in it .. but what hurt me is he was not ready to take any blame.. so his right words went in vein for us.
    He was more like a typical politician, when they give us excuse, that why they make schools, their people need “ roti”
    And they don’t realize, for people who need roti we are talking on their behalf , education ho gi too roti woh kudh ley layien gey .. don’t show us perfect dramas .. but add some message, little message.. ok if not message just try to avoid negativity .. ok giving negativity, do it, but stop at some point ... like jalan and nanad there is no stopping of crap .. they keep showing the worst of worst .. thora andher Kuch Acha hota too bi audience deykhty .. we are not saying show us how to pray..
    well 😞he was not ready to take any responsibility .. u can’t be successful if u are so arrogant .. ur right things also doesn’t make any sense then ..

    There were so many problematic statements in Fahad’s interview . At one point he said Jalan jaisay dramay say unhi logon ko takleef hy Jin kay dil main chor hy 😳 I mean if I’m objecting to it that means I have a secret crush on my brother-in-law ? What is this logic??He kept saying there are worst things in society , we should talk about them first before attacking dramas. Has he ever stopped to think that showing suicide as a solution to your hardships and domestic violence against the weak in society might becomes someone’s real problem ? Since his dramas are normalizing them. As much as he denies that drama has an everlasting impact on audience, it does. I’m waiting for Amna to watch the whole interview and then comment on it because his casual attitude towards generating crap content in the name of business was very upsetting for me.

    With all respect I would disagree with you guys on Fahad Mustafa's stance. You guys don't like nand etc so you don't watch it..good but thats because if you are not watching nand , you are watching netflix etc... people who go to jalsa etc do watch 'nand' kind of content because they cannot afford netflix.. they dont have the option to not watch what they don't like.. they can only access Television.. also ' rating ati hain to drama banta hai' it does not mean that we keep producing regressive content. aik bachy ko ik din dawai do nahi khaye ga,, agly din do thori si kha ly ga , parso thori or kha le ga.. ik din taste develop ho jaye ga. thats with our dramas.. do we keep feeding people regressive content because they dont have access to other entertainment platforms. ? people will only watch what television produces.

    This time around I’m disappointed in you guys. For going to such lengths in justifying the flawed arguments that Fahad Mustafa came up with. For me he’s no longer a star but rather an ignorant man who refuses to introspect and accept his mistakes. There was nothing purposeful nor intellectual about his arguments. When asked about the problematic suicide of Misha, he quoted the people who were burnt to death in a factory, while adding a callous “So what’s the big deal?” in the end. THIS is his line of thought, his reasoning for showing a girl burning herself alive? I’m sorry, but I’m really disappointed. And therefore, I’m going to reserve the rest of my opinions because it’s clear to me that you’re not going to do a live autopsy on someone who’s powerful. His interview is probably the worst I’ve seen on this platform, thanks to his arrogance.

    The one thing Fahad said that was absolute nonsense was that there are more important things shaping impressionable minds than dramas that we need to work on first. How are you going to ban the entire TikTok app; you can't so you'll have to censor some of the content on there- how? How are you going to stop men watching porn- you can ban Pornhub but they'll still have access to it, you can try and implement change at a grassroots, structural level but you really think it will be easier to legislate compulsory sex education that won't lead to moulvis taking to the streets? Why would you, as a person of immense power in the industry, NOT do what is very easy to do, and make sure the dramas that are ALWAYS ON in the every house, even if in the background, don't show inlaws emotionally abusing their daughters in law, and slapping women for the most menial things? A very, very fazool and jaahil point of view for such a prominent personality to hold, and I'm not shy about saying that.

I didn’t really watch many Pakistani dramas before, but after watching this drama, I fell in love with Pakistani dramas and Pakistani actors and actresses!! I live in America, but now for the first time, through Pakistani dramas, I feel a connection with Pakistan and a sense of patriotism and love for Pakistan, which makes me feel very happy!! I agree that there were many directional flaws, but the acting and story was flawless and immaculate!!

The turkish drama has similar characters, similarly sequences, similar childhood dreams, similar husband wife tussle. The husband blaming the father in law and the wife defending her father. Similar childhood flashbacks of hero with his mother are shown. The character of Allah Buksh is also there. Even the setting, the location is a small hilly, lush green town. There are 2 differences. 1.The antagonist, the father has a son too, although the daughter is his favourite, spoiled, apple of the eye. The son is a witness and has dreams instead of the heroine. 2.The hero’s mother is alive but not in senses, for a few episodes, and then is killed.

    I don’t think the critique comes from the topic at hand itself. For me personally, its the lazy execution of the project. Jalan in particular was poorly written, unimaginative and lazy. Just because people are poor and that is their world does not mean they are also unintelligent. When you constantly feed them this nonsense writing, they have no choice but to consume such garbage. Just because they are watching it, doesn’t mean they enjoyed it. It’s what’s available.
    In terms of business, pornography also makes money. Does it now make it good ?

    • @aishah9466
      @aishah9466 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      I agree that the approach that is taken is "You have no choice but to consume garbage" . Most of the people cannot afford Netflix and have the only option of tv. It is not always about just making money but rather the responsibility that comes with power and money. It is really unfortunate that Fahad is compromising on quality content just to make more money and not thinking about the bigger picture...legacy.

    • @saniaf258
      @saniaf258 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      ‘Lazy’ is the key word. The producers aren’t good at producing innovative content because it takes effort and risk taking which they aren’t ready for because they’ve normalised there audience to watch garbage content

    • @samanamehmood9805
      @samanamehmood9805 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Actually it's true. I for one have been saying that too much criticism is not good but on the other hand tbh I really imagined several other ways Jalan could HV unfolded. As far as it is about being lazy it is also the investment that it takes to add quality to production. All these actors and producers ARE at the end pocketing large amounts of money as visible from their lifestyles. Which if they reduce there might be improvement in the production

    • @saniaf258
      @saniaf258 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Samana Mehmood I think the actors are deserving of their craft because at the end of the day they seem to be the only ones making us Pakistani proud with their acting. However, they should cut down funds spend on mansions e.g., Jalan and stick to slightly lower cost houses that are equally as pretty. They should invest in hiring quality writers that can change the landscape of mainstream television.

    • @samanamehmood9805
      @samanamehmood9805 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@saniaf258 you are right about the actors doing us proud but again the whole battle is of trps. All the celebrities exhibiting glamorous lifestyles on social media are more in demand and thus get more work. So the question is are they really the best actors that we have who make it to the top? I feel more deserving talented actors who don't adopt this means to their end remain under shadow. This is what was portrayed in alif drama. Now momina was extremely lucky to land in a Hollywood project how many else would? In ptv days these ppl who were coming on media in any manner were groomed and given a sense of professionalism n grounding. Most of these celebrities (plz see the haute bites Amna did with Sadiq) are actually causing a bad name too to the country because Paisa tu aagya ha sense of grooming n responsibility kisi ne nahi sikhai. Some of the boys n girls enter the industry being very young ending up being more of a mannequin than a real person. We need to decide we need Kim kardishans or Sania saeeds

    To be honest, none of the drama from 2020 I'd like to rewatch completely as I rewatched dramas like Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Durr-e-Shahwar, Alfa Bravo Charlie multiple times.. however, I'd like to rewatch some scenes from Alif, Ehd-e-Wafa, Pyar Ke Sadqe, etc.

    Piyar kay sadqay is the one which stands out for me.. But now a days people are judged by their social media followers which is a shame.. Yumna is the artist of 2020

    All I want to say is I hope 2021 brings quality dramas like PKS, Alif, Ehd-e-wafa and Sabaat because they definitely were a step up in terms of creative content. Raqse-e-bismil, Mushk, Dunk, Phaans and Pelli Si Muhabbat definitely have potential- I just hope they live up to our expectations

      Mushk is a drama for which I feel every episode makes me say it's my fav drama. Something new unfolds, something new to look forward to. And Guddi to add to the entertainment.
