Played the first game during COVID, it had a lot of personality and the companions were pretty great. Obsidian had some bangers in the past. I'm fan from their New Vegas game, but their newest games never had that world to attract me back. You know, like the entire point of New Vegas was? Hopefully, this will be more remarkable game with writing drawing me to their game.
It looks like they're adding more weapon variety. I hope they either tweaked the science stat or got rid of it, because the weirder weapons usability were locked behind it.
There is an infinity of ways that the Outer Wilds gameplay loop might be implemented into a new game, but the story was pretty much self-contained. A part 2 would definitely feel like a stretch. I would still play it, but my expectations would be lower.

I thought this was got to be an Xbox exclusive
Xbox exclusives are gone.. Indiana Jones, Doom and now this.
”Case by case basis”/”No red line”.
Besides, the original was multiplatform, so this only makes sense.
It's on gamepass so you don't have to pay for it. Everyone pays for ps Plus and Xbox game pass to play online So it is essentially free. Realistically if you're not paying to play online then why even play
I think 🤔 the exclusivity should be 6 months to 1 year max and that is also for PlayStation
Yep, then Microsoft changed their minds and realised exclusivity just means leaving money lying around
I can’t wait to give obsidian my money.
I have high hopes for this one, as stated in the video Obsidian has a lot of experience with number 2's.
Seriously though, the first game had a solid foundation, it just needed a bit more, and it sounds like that's what we're getting. Fingers crossed!
and what do you think about the first game was solid?
They make good sequels......because they're crap at making their own material. D&D, Fallout, Star Wars, sequels they are known for, but find me one normie who's ever even heard of Pillars, or Tyranny or hell Penitant lmfao
@@AndrewRyan-zv7zb Pentiment and Tyranny are easily in my top 10 games of all time. Just because they are not mainstream success doesn't means these games aren't good.
@@koshetz I played them both, loved everything going on in Tyranny but the fact they both collectively sold maybe 10 copies is why theyre bad. Clearly theyre not good enough to break out of the teeny tiny little niche that likes anything that plays like them.
"from the studio that laid off all the people who brought you..."
🎶Welcome to space, what were you expecting it's a dangerous place, thank you for investing 🎶
Being able to ☠️ the advertisement bots is enough to sell me
The Mascot looks like POP's off THE REGULAR SHOW
i guess we really SHOULD have read the fine print
Thank you Obsidian!
imagine thanking them for this mediocre slop.
This more feels like Borderlands than Borderlands4.
Xbox first party game is releasing on PS5 day one? 👀
Yep... only reason to even bother owning an Xbox now is to get it included in the gamepass subscription :/ They keep saying everything is an Xbox, but honestly Xbox doesn't even exist anymore. It's just the meat sack that is parasitically walking around as gamepass. Like one of those zombie insects you see.
Honestly, widen the market circle is a big win in marketing... Sony should've done the same
Naming amazing RPGs made in the past after losing the developers that ACTUALLY made them, while replacing them with nutcases like Matt Hansen and the others having a blast insulting their customer-base in internal messages isn't really worth much.
It just makes it clear that this is Obsidian in name only. 🤷
Anyone else see this and immediately think "Outer Wilds 2?! YES!" then realize its Outer WORLDS and a game you've never heard of?
These games are what star field wishes it was
That's a ridiculously low bar to set...
The Outer Worlds was not that good in the first place and few things have ever been worse than Starfield.
Already better than Starfield
The dump I'm taking while writing this comment is better than Starfield
"2025 has two twos in it."
Played the first game during COVID, it had a lot of personality and the companions were pretty great. It’s weird, I contrast it with BGS’ “Starfield” and TOW did pretty much everything better, minus the space flight (there wasn’t any.)
A sequel definitely has me intrigued. I hope they bring back the Moon Man mascot; that always felt like a Futurama reference to me.
Speedrunner's review : It's an amazing game, they lengthened the gave us a 30 seconds longer any % run, and they shortened the difference of LRT and RTA by 2 Minutes!
For a split second i thought the title said Outer Wilds 2 and my heart almost stopped beating.
You've tried the rest, now try the best!
Spacer's Choice!
The first one had amazing moments and dialogue, it's just sad you had to hunt for those so much. And the one DLC where you're solving the murder was a solid 9/10. But a lot of people didn't play it because of the problem I mentioned. I really hope this one works out for obsidian better.
Now... This is a TRAILER !!
Hopefully they aren't stupid and make the game moddable this time around. OW1 had a lot of flaws that could have been corrected with mods...
All the real talent that made Fallout New Vegas is long gone
I love how this has a 2025 release date when avowed, which they announced 4 years ago, still isn’t out yet
Man...I love Obsidian...too.
Will this game also have the same enemies on every planet? Killed the first one for me
It disappoints me to no end that we will never get an Outer Wilds 2.
There is an infinity of ways that the Outer Wilds gameplay loop might be implemented into a new game, but the story was pretty much self-contained. A part 2 would definitely feel like a stretch. I would still play it, but my expectations would be lower.
@ Yeah I more meant even if they had a great idea, the developer was shut down sadly.
0:45 - You could ALWAYS use more dakka.
I absolutely LOVE how studios will parade around their accomplishments as if any of the people who made games like Kotor 2 or New Vegas are still working there.
@@adimiss Yeah you can tell they were taking it very seriously when they did that too.
@@StrtedBlastn If they werent they wouldve said the truth which is they are behind some of the worst games to release like outer worlds
@@thekey1175 It’s bad because you didn’t like it? I’ll be sure to consult you before enjoying anything ever.
@@StrtedBlastn by all metrics its bad. They released it on epic first to make sure they got a payday then when the game got to steam it was still buggy and had launch day DLC. The wiki is still incomplete and the achievement completion rate for the game is not good. People who bought it didn't play it and people who played it rarely finished it. I can go on about how its basically a modded version of starfield or how the choices arent different from FO4
@@thekey1175 By all metrics except the most commonly used one called Metacritic where it has favorable reviews by both users and critics but okay dude go off lol
Wait Obsidian are releasing 2 RPGs in the same year?
Until I get an apology and they fire their racist employees, I'm not touching a thing from Obsidian. I'm not supporting a company that's just going to gloss over this issue.
A company isn’t racist for including people who aren’t white, hope this helps.
@rebeccawildman8787 Didn't say that Obsidian is racist. I said it's employees. If their employees are allowed to openly insult their customers publicly, I'm not going to support that company. It's just bonus what the employee said was racist.
This plus Witcher 4 is a great year for RPG gamers
From the studio that brought you not-so-unracist art director and top management.
Non of the people, who worked on KOTOR2 or New Vegas are in this studio now.
not true there is like 4.
@@arkgaharandan5881 sorry, you are right. Feargus Urquhart would be 2 of them.
did you include more player freedom?
None of the people that were at obsidian for fo:nv and kotorii are there...
Except Josh "im a literal communist" Sawyer, and Fergus "my whole family works here and makes way more than they should" Erqhart.
