I think it would have stayed mostly niche if they had continued to structure every game like demons souls. The changes they made to the formula with dark souls are what really helped it take off.
Could you be more specific about those mechanics? I've been gaming since 1989 and the only unique mechanic I see in souls games are the invasions. I'm not hating on souls games. Im on my second playthrough of elden ring. I've just seen all the rest of their mechanics in many games over the decades.

Screamer appears to be a modern reboot, offshoot or whatever of the original DOS racing game. Which was really good back in it's day, especially Screamer 2 which was rally based. Not sure about this new one though but worth keeping an eye on.
2024 Will for most people go down as one of the best years for new games in the last 20 years. Especially December is loaded with new stuff. Nice to see the next few years keeping traction in the right direction for gamers.
@@UwUOwl the updates and the patches that CD Projekt Red has provided has actually made up for what happened and beyond. Even after saying that no further updates will be given for Cyberpunk, they gave another update just 2-3 days back.

I am huge Witcher fan. Books and games, Witcher 4 looks amazing. I was very skeptical about idea of writing new game basically not based on Spakowski at all, but man it looks great. I want to get exited about Naughty dog game, but I honestly never liked Naughty dog games. I mean story in their games is always good, but gameplay design is so outdated, just mediocre gameplay followed by cutscenes on repeat. my opinion. I have faith that they adapted and cooked something modern and fresh, but I will believe it when I see it.

Very curious about Nightreign! I've never played these types of coop games and, honestly, a big part of what made Elden Ring fun was all the lore in the world so if there's not much of that then it might not be for me but I'll definitely still give it a chance.
tbh my exact thoughts because for me as someone who has bills to pay and kids to feed there really wasnt a lot of games for switch that seemed to interest me or switch games in general, like i sure as hell aint sitting on a fat stack of cash to where i can just up and buy a ps5 or xbox system to play all these new games that are coming out.

@@ferdinaldp.1091 for me? i would like to see more switch games being brought out. hell even they dont bring out new games i would always be thankful for remasters of old games being brought onto the switch or just be able to find a way to bring older games to switch. i just feel like there really isnt much on switch that i feel is worth my time anymore because the games they have now just dont seem to peak my interest like games used to when it was 2013 to 2020 now switch games just seem to not be attention grabbing to me anymore

Dispatch looks really cool. I'm excited to play that one. Of course anything by Naughty Dog so Intergalactic is a must buy. I'm a sci-fi nerd so the setting pulled me in immediately. I've enjoyed the lead actress across TV and film so it's exciting for me as a fan to actually see Tati Gabrielle star in a video game.

Nothing here for me. It feels like all games are the same these days - fantasy RPG, post apocalyptic, Soulslike.
Grand Theft Auto VI, Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake, IO’s 007 game, and Santa Monica’s sci-fi game would have been really nice
