Oh my gosh Tykara you were one of my loc crushes and inspired me to start June of 2021 before your own journey got rocky through installing them on my own I discovered “AirPlay” !!! Girlllfriend. All you need is a tripod your phone and to press Mirror your screen o a smart TV or your laptop of iPad. You can see the back of your head flawlessly especially if u pair the tripod with a ring light. I’m soooo critical about receiving help from loved ones so this makes self reties sooo tolerable LMK if you figure it out. It takes a while to get a hang of the mirror effect but it’s a DIY loc must have!
I was redoing some of my loc sections in the back and I connected my canon camera to my tv and sat in front of it with a ring light on and it was the best thing ever. If I ever decided to do my own reties I’d do it in front of my camera. I could see every part without issue. Just need an HMDI cam cord
The mirror stand you created looks similar to a mirror stand that I purchased years ago from Amazon to see the back of my head when I do my reties . I think I spent $65 on it, it’s chrome and has lasted me through several moves across states
My night routine is to just put a bonnet on. If I’m going for waves or curls, I’ll braid or curl my locks, then put on the bonnet. I have silk pillow cases just in case that bonnet comes off. I used to use a mirror taped to a tripod while standing in the bathroom. It was boring in there for hours….Now I mirror my iPhone on a tripod to my macbook air. (I can do my hair in the living room while watching a movie.) The iPhone has the mirror icon on the home screen. I shaved at least an hour and a half off my reties because I can easily see the back and sides of my head. I had a tripod, so i didn’t need to buy anything extra. I told my daughter and now she does the same thing too.
@@jasminwilliam5750 I wish this part lasted longer lol. I want locs but I know eventually they will lose the frizz and everything that really makes them look like lose natural hair.
Clever mirror idea! 🧠 I steam my hair in a steamy shower 4-5 days a week. Put it in a loose pineapple or scarf sleeve, and BOOM go to bed. Easy peasy. Sleeping in braids is impossible for me.
You pick the best music. This was utterly relaxing! Btw your hair looks great!
Thank you so much!!
Yes I was gonna say the same! Music selection be on point!
No explanation needed. You're gorgeous and so are your locs🥰
I don't feel like paying for a big mirror so ima just be ghetto🤣 love it
❤️
My night routine is throw my bonnet on lol! I would love to start doing more braid outs❤️
❤️
Girl I thought it was just me! I pick things up with my feet all the time since I was a baby actually 😂 #teammonkeyfeet
Monkey feet?!😂😂😂❤️

Your retie mirror DIY is a great money-saving idea.

Thank for the DIY mirror. Was wondering how I was gonna figure it out but you did it form me, you look beautiful 😍.
Glad I could help!

I use a mirror that hangs on the back of doors! It makes the retie process for me so much smoother!
Your hair looks great. 💕 Pretty bathroom as well.

Your hair is gorgeous and you always wear the cutest clothes.
Thank you so much
I am always a person that picks up stuff with my feet...lol I thought I was the only one!!!
I've been doing it my whole life!
It comes in handy especially when you don't want to bend down to pick something up lol
Lol picking up things with your toes alittle bit but I can move my pinky toes around 😂 fun fact !! Love your videos so calming 😊❤
😊 thank you
So is all of your hair retied now? If so your mom did a great job.
Yes it is!
I taped my mirror to a portable stand up lamp. It worked well for me.

So beautiful! Where is your bible from?
I got it from Barnes and Noble
I'm so frustrated bc I really want micro locs but ima miss my afro. Been debating for 2 years all ready! Ugh
Me too
Just keep your ends curly!!
See I miss my fro but at the same time I enjoy in the beginning stage where it still kinda looks like my hair is still similar to a loose natural

Just asking so you braid your hair every night
Not every night, just a few nights out of the week
Have you ever let your hair go a while without braiding it? I'm wondering if not braiding it will help it not tangle as much.
I've done it for 2 weeks before.
@@TyKaraAnn you should try it a again, maybe for longer. Might be a different result since your locs have matured.
I love your content so much 🤍
Thanks!

Hey, I’m just wondering if braiding your locs every night may cause some weakness
Every other night
