To be fair, even though there are performance difference between the four engines, it won't be a large difference in terms of straight line speed.
People bang on about having equal cars... That would make F1 into F2 which would make results like Ricciardos podium this year, perez's win and gasly's win less special

The best way to find the cars performance level will just be to go on career mode and add up just the aero and chassis r&d bars or mod Merc engines onto a career mode
How about giving every team the Williams' aero and chassis?

The Redbull and Mercedes cars are incredibly different irl.
The merc has a very low rake floor and the Redbull has a high rake floor.
The Mercedes has the longest wheelbase and the Redbull has the shortest.
The aerodynamic philosophies of the cars are pretty different but almost equally effective
also the merc is one of the most stable cars in the grid and the redbull is one of the hardest cars to drive on the grid

I don't think the cars are inherently that much more or less stable than one another. Like if they have stability they aren't extracting the most grip from the car.
Lewis Hamilton usually has really aggressive setups with twitchy rear ends because he can handle far more rear end instability than other drivers. Bottas usually opting for slightly more understeery setups in comparison.
Max and Lewis are in leagues of their own tbh.
I think maybe it's just because Redbull is less accommodating to second drivers than Mercedes is. And is less likely to compromise on a stable setup over the aggressive setup they'll use for Max.
And so this outwardly appears like the Redbull is less stable.
But idk, I'm not an expert and this is just speculation on my part.
@@xavierrodriguez2463 i think you’re definitely right with that argument. I just remember Rebdull stating there was definitely an aero balance issue where the nose of the car dropped down too fast or something like that. And Max stated “it’s like driving on a knife edge. It’s always grip then no grip” (something along those lines). I’m sure they fixed the problem for the most part throughout the season though, making your argument even more valid in my opinion.

How do you change the engine in the game? Would that work for the career mode ?
"A hamilton special" I noticed that since 2017-18ish f1 games have some secrets. For example: Well, yes no surprise, hamilton every now and then goes half a second faster than the second fastest car on track, or qualy, or practice, u never know.
Also, this is a career mode only thing that i noticed, but, when all cars are almost equaly developed, alonso (18' version of the game) tends to have quite a good barcelona gp over all, and even when not developed, he tended to get a boost of 5 to 6 maybe 7 positions on catalunya than he normally gets. Dk if this is intended or not, but i was well into 9 years of career mode, so... it wasnt a one time thing only
I never got to see Schumacher dominate during his first stint in F1, but I've always read how many found it boring. I feel the same about Mercedes domination over the last 6 years. I think they need to "equal" the cars much more. I think all the teams should develop a car and engine together, then be allowed to improve their cars and engine throughout the season however they see fit within the rules. They would "technically" be developing their cars still. Everyone would start even. Less costs, better racing also. As we've seen this year, there are many drivers capable of winning. Most will never have the chance unless they move to Mercedes unless something is done about it.
