Most of the I/O graduates are trying to get teaching positions to try to recruit other people into the same degree. And a lot of the masters levels are getting jobs that people without the degree can get, such as consultant jobs or HR. To be a little less cynical about it, I O is very best, and a successful student will know how to make a successful career with the flexibility that is involved in the program, and the mind of a student who is interested in such a program

Yes, you need a license in the US to be a clinical psychologist. To be an IO psychologist, however, there is no license requirement, at least not in my state. Check with your state licensing board for information on licensing requirements in your state.

I have the exact same experience in my job search... I was looking at the people's scientist roles while they all require 3 plus years of experience..
