I would just like to take a moment to say how kindhearted and wonderful everyone in the comments section is. Thank you all for the kind words and reassurance that everything will be okay. I am on the autism spectrum, and often mask how I feel, so listening to music like this really helps me process these feelings, and oftentimes cry because of it. Like I’m free to be myself and not try to conform for others’ comfort. In a world with so many harsh sounds, something about music that is so gentle to the ear just makes me cry.
Thank you so much for being real and sharing! I am so glad that the music is able to help you feel comfortable and be yourself! We genuinely wish you the best, and hope this channel can be a place of comfort for you for many years to come!
this was my childhood. I remember I got in trouble at school once and my mom broke the disk to make me mad, I cried for so long, whenever I got older I bought the game for myself and played it all the way through it was some of the best memories I have in my life, I wish I could just enjoy it like I used to before, I think I waited so long and had to work through sad times to afford it for myself and when it finally came time to play it once more. The joy was not there when I was a kid, I realized when you are a kid you are stress free and you don't understand much about life, so playing games becomes to much sometimes, I wish I could restart my life and go back to those times when I was 7, sitting in a trap house playing Skyrim all day long. Just never let life eat you away guys, its easy to lose yourself in something you are not, always find the joy in the little things, I always though I needed this and that, but I reality I just needed me, and me only, I am the only person that has ever been by my side my whole life and that is the way it is going to stay for the future. Wish you guys the best of luck in life, this is kinda random, I clicked this video and had these flashbacks, brought tears to my eyes, It was truly wonderful, thank you. May you adventures in Skyrim never end my friends!
My dad used to take away our xbox 360 for weeks at a time or randomly switch off the power when i was playing sometimes just because he felt like it. Sorry your mum broke your disk dude that really sucks and isa type of pain not many people understand
Chasing (likely rose tinted) nostalgic memories of emotions rarely works the way we'd hope. You get disappointed you're not feeling what you used to (and are hoping to rediscover), get fearful and/or frustrated, and the negative emotions start a positive feedback loop that makes it even more difficult to reconnect to what you remember, or at least think you remember. Changing tastes as time passes and frontloaded enjoyment from novelty can make more difficult, but not necessarily. It's easier said than done, but being present makes virtually anything more fulfilling and rewarding. Mental noise and unnecessary expectations that go unmet set us up for failure and needless difficulty. For skyrim in particular, if you struggle to find it fun again and don't want to give up, you could try ESO, morrowind, or oblivion first. Or play skyrim with an unusual build or your own self-imposed constraints the way nuzlocke is used for pokemon. Throwing out weapons every so often to mimic breath of the wild, drinking (or lifting a dumbbell) every time a certain phrase/word is uttered, wearing a rudimentary or detailed outfit to side with the stormcloaks or imperials and embrace that sides' struggle as your own, survival mods/rules you like, playing as a chronically drunk mage or a meathead hero who uses a legendary iron sword the whole game, and ridding the world of bears and trolls with extreme prejudice are some ideas. If all of that fails, there's nothing wrong with moving on to other games or hobbies. That said, the right kind of skooma can make anything magical.
I started this game at age 47. Been playing every day for the past two years. I paint it, I decorate my house with it. Elder scrolls is my obsession. I feel I have lived this in a different life
I really just started playing skyrim last week, and even though is not an "old friend", it feels very welcoming and comforting to go to that world after a stressful 12 hour day at university
I remember when my older brother bought Skyrim for our Xbox 360 back on 11-11-11. At the time, I had never seen him so excited for something. I guess I didn't understand why. After all, I was a bit younger than him and didn't comprehend the gravity of this games release. He played it nonstop for the rest of 2011 and into 2012. Flash forward some time, and I had forged my own real love of video games and had finally decided to give Skyrim a shot. My brother had moved to gaming on PC recently, so our Xbox 360 was basically all mine now. I had all the time I wanted to sit and play Skyrim, and I don't think I could overstate how this game hooked me. So much fun and memories were forged playing this game that it had cemented my love for medieval fantasy that still holds true to this day now that i'm 23 years old. Seeing these videos gives me a weird twist in my chest. I can't explain, but the feeling is oddly familiar and almost comforting. Like, i'm 12 years old again, playing skyrim in my bedroom on a brisk August day after school. I love Skyrim, and it will always be a very special game to me for the rest of my life.
As a kid, we look at it with awe and wonder. As an adult, we look at it with a smile and an understanding. The game does not change.. we do So whatever you are looking for, cannot be found looking in Tamriel, you find it within, and the game enhances what is already there.
I'm also on the autism spectrum and I adore the power of music. As a sound and music therapist, I run free meditation sessions both online and for the local community here in England. I'll be using parts of this amazing soundtrack in future for helping people to let go and find inner relaxation. x
Skyrim.. i cant put into words how much i enjoyed wandering the forests, the ice fields, the mountains.. sitting in the different taverns and listening to the songs, taking the pilgrimage to the throat of the world.. reading all the different books on the lore of the game.. discovering the dwemer ruines and exploring the mysteries within them.. what a blistful experience it was. I still enjoy playing it from time to time, satisfying nostalgia. The game is only as deep as you make it, Skyrim has such a deep rabit hole that you can fall into and when you come out you have thousands of hours in it trying to make sure you've discovered every secret, turned every stone, and read every book. This game is such a masterpiece.
@@kingcopper4929 I still listen to it regularly. Back when I still went to school and wrote my A-levels, I used the skyrim OST as background music when studying. Later I started my apprenticeship and the soundtrack also followed me there. And in September, I'll start my Bachelor and I'm pretty sure it will be the same again. It doesn't matter which piece of the soundtrack, I never get tired of it. Even after over 11 years it still gives me goosebumps.

Some of my best memories are staying up late and just getting lost in Skyrim. I’ll never forget waiting in line at GameStop until the midnight release on 11.11.11 to get my disc copy. When I got home, I played until the sun came up. Simpler times. This takes me home, thanks for sharing!
2 of my Favorite Games are in production. Elder Scrolls 6 and right after that, Fallout 5. Both of these should be available in the next 3-4 years. Until then, I am perfectly happy walking around Skyrim and Diamond City. I always discover new things and adventures I did not do. It's just incredible the endless things to get immersed in.
Always loved the faint, discrete sound of duduk fitting so well in a nocturnal snowy environment. Yes it's an eastern, "oriental" sounding instrument, but from Caucasus where mountains and snow are parts of the landscape. Jeremy Soule took a great decision in the end to slip it in this track.
I used to escape the world around me and fully stepped into whatever role or characteristics i applied to my character. I will never forget my adventures in my own world where i actually felt important. I still escape to this world from time to time today and I am so grateful I got to experience this side of gaming.
I am currently in a dark place within my life, yet this game doesn't cease to bring back memories from simpler times... thank you so much for the upload ❤
this is my favorite song from the entire soundtrack. Its just so mystical and peaceful. i can just imagine sitting on the side of a mountain looking at the snow blanketed world below, northern lights above my head. Funnily enough, the part with the horn ( i dont know what instrument) sounds like it could even fit into a nighttime desert landscape which is what we're fairly certain elder scrolls 6 will have. This song makes me feel calm and nastolgic, but at the same time makes me excited for the future and what kind of atmospheres the elder scrolls 6 will have.
I was playing some other game, listening to youtube in the background and didn't even notice that this had been playing for almost 2 hours straight. Its just 'that' relaxing, and I think i'm just so in love and used to the Skyrim soundtrack in general that my mind doesn't even register it anymore. ❤
This brings back the memories. My father and I would play Elder Scrolls V together when I was younger. I'm so thankful that TH-cam autoplay decided to cue up something good for once :)
I remember watching my brother play Skyrim on his Xbox 360 when I was little and now that I'm older and that I started playing it myself it's so nostalgic I can't describe the exact feeling I get from this game It makes me feel sad yet comforted this music just brings back the old memories I have with my brother
I've started playing these over my Bluetooth speaker as I read before I go to sleep. I'll echo the sentiments of many here: it's.....unheard for a soundtrack to so fully pull at the heartstrings of its listeners. And to your response to another comment about leaving in the pauses to better heart the ambient environment noises, I've been trying out the same myself with Oblivion and it extremely grounding and immersive. I read a Reddit comment of someone mentioning that in Skyrim, apparently different birdcalls can be heard in different regions and to me, that shows beautiful dedication to their work for the sound designers to have done so. Of course the music of each game is wonderful, but listening to the wind, the sighing grass, the groaning trees, and birdcalls all around with no music whatsoever as I've been doing in Oblivion can be just as beautiful. (Also a nice challenge when you remove the sneak eye and don't have the signal from the change in music that something's seen you lol)
There's something special about Jeremy Soule's ability to recreate the atmosphere of the Northern wilderness. I highly recommend his album The Northerner Diaries Symphonic Sketches.
wow. this is beautiful!!! Typically I only get recommended drone ambience. Thank you for creating this Edit: just realized that it's music from the game. My mistake haha

Make sure u google which mods to add to enhance ur experience, graphic overhaul, lighting overhaul etc, don’t add ones that change the vanilla playthrough, just ones that enhance visual, audio and possibly A.I., then after ur playthrough add ones that are fun for the gameplay
found this and will be playing the game for the first time now i beat new vegas two weeks ago and started oblivion. my sister had this on ps3 when we were in highschool but i was playing asuras wrath and dragons dogma at the time now shes playing dragons dogma 2 and im circling back to the older games lmao

Bro.... Just read the first pinned comment of mindunwind1, super enlightening and humbling read. Touching. On a side note I have to admit..... What a phenomenal song to start with. Utterly immense, powerful, serene, alluring. Perfectly gripping. im literally in awe. Great video. i still play skyrim and if anyone is interested and upgrading skyrim into what i consider Skyrim 2. Check out on youtube the Nol Vus mod compilation by Vektor you will be utterly mind blown at where skyrim is now since Nexus has introduced mod lists, now all these mods can be installed with one click all the patches all of everything you couldnt do perfectly as a novice modder. One click and you have 2000+ mods of the highest quality imaginable installed flawlessly. Skyrim, as with everything else if moving into the future !!! Much love to everyone here !
If this wasn't in Skyrim, I'd imagine this is the music you'd expect to hear as Roman legions marched across the forests and highlands of Gaul and Britannia in Ancient times, fighting the Celtic and German tribes.
Little thoughts like that, should be cut into this world. There's more than enough footage to edit with this exact thought in mind. I'd do it myself if I didn't have a load of other work. Maybe these are the things AI will excel at? Little one off ideas that require several hours of work, done instantaneously for rapid prototyping? Anyway, loved your thought when I pondered it for a moment.
At the edge of a great forest, upon a hill overlooking the snow covered fields of a dormant winter farm… I can imagine Maximus quietly drinking in the view from atop his horse during those quiet moments just before a battle. I can see the steam coming from his mount’s nostrils as she snorts her readiness for the chaos to begin.
“When misrule takes its place at the eight corners of the world When the Brass Tower walks and Time is reshaped When the thrice-blessed fail and the Red Tower trembles When the Dragonborn Ruler loses his throne, and the White Tower falls When the Snow Tower lies sundered, kingless, bleeding The World-Eater wakes, and the Wheel turns upon the Last Dragonborn.”
Just putting this out there idk if it’s TH-cam itself or the video poster but when I put on an ambience music video that’s hours long, it’s on purpose. So there’s no need to ask every 20-30 min “are you still watching” it’s for background. Yes I still want it to play -.-
Sounds like it's a TH-cam thing, maybe check your app settings? I don't have the ability to enforce something like that, and I don't encounter those messages when I watch TH-cam either so it sounds like an app setting. If you can't find it, maybe reach out to Team TH-cam on Twitter or check out their online forum.

You sir have my deep respect
@@fenrisdalacost9140 Thank you, muthsera
OK, NOW I want to check the game out.
Give it a try and let us know if you like it!
Do it, it has been my all time favorite for years.
Make sure u google which mods to add to enhance ur experience, graphic overhaul, lighting overhaul etc, don’t add ones that change the vanilla playthrough, just ones that enhance visual, audio and possibly A.I., then after ur playthrough add ones that are fun for the gameplay
10/10 most adorable Videos

@@lostmusicco i think when i was younger the open world games were intimidating and so was the amount of freedom you could have in your choices compared to jrpgs , which i olay primarily but knowing all if those were inspired by western rpgs i wanted to start with what i was most familiar with first. i also got deus ex and system shock 1/2 to try as well i cant wait 😭😎
49:38 the lockpick sound lol, when i hear this i think, 'maybe i still gona crazy, migh as well a thousand hour in skyrim turn my brain in a kinda of gramophone because back in the day i took this shi*t and when i tried lockpick a stupid door in this game i break ninety-nine lockpick tools AAAA i hate this stupid sound'. Now im right

Skyrim is about Decay....but it makes me feel subdued and resigned to my fate.....
Wowie zowies this is good
If this wasn't in Skyrim, I'd imagine this is the music you'd expect to hear as Roman legions marched across the forests and highlands of Gaul and Britannia in Ancient times, fighting the Celtic and German tribes.
Skyrim is based on iceland or Scandinavia
“When misrule takes its place at the eight corners of the world
When the Brass Tower walks and Time is reshaped
When the thrice-blessed fail and the Red Tower trembles
When the Dragonborn Ruler loses his throne, and the White Tower falls
When the Snow Tower lies sundered, kingless, bleeding
The World-Eater wakes, and the Wheel turns upon the Last Dragonborn.”
