Remarkable - well done indeed. I can only think that the 387 folk who have 'disliked' the video are either such die-hard Tool fans that they are offended that someone should 'add' bits to it, or they're simply jealous and mean-spirited. Either way, they ought to have a word with themselves. Superbly done.

That's the most impressive part about Danny's drumming to me. He hits more drums than most other drummers but it sounds calm and rythmic. Meanwhile, other drummers just play double bass and some snares and it sounds loud and unnecessary.
Man, for me, as a drummer, the part at 9:36 is the real fun part to play. Especially the 3 flams on the snare are so simple, but so satisfying between all the complicated hits.

It's pretty rare that I watch a Tool drum cover and think to myself: "If Danny Carey couldn't make the gig this dude could stand in for him no problem" but I think it's fair to say you meet the criteria. I just tried this by myself: Getting some equipment, tuning the drums to match the sound, learning all the patterns and parts, and learn to play then in the right dynamics, remember all the details and not even making the mistakes, recording everything with high quality on a multitrack, filming myself while looking good, synchronizing the video with the audio, cutting and uploading it. Its totally a piece of cake. no big deal. Took me only 6 million hours.

Normally one practices a song 'till it can be played fluently. But it seems you mister, learn a song untill it becomes second nature to you and THEN practice even further to make it as easy as breathing and THEN you start adding your own things to it, so it becomes a signature Glen Monturi piece.
