    • @rebelmarshall3632
      @rebelmarshall3632 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Ashkahus I haven't had any issues with the burnishing attachments. I've got a few different styles, wheels, barrels, and cones. They're great for slicking holster edges.

    • @Princearmory
      @Princearmory  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have those too, even several kinds of big dedicated burnishing wheels and stations, but my personal experience is that, at least for the leather we're typically using, it's actually quicker to just grab the slicking tool and use a little elbow grease and pressure to slick the edges. This opinion might differ if we were doing production pieces or other repetitive batches perhaps.

    Hello, I'm in the process of making this for a friend of mine and I'm trying to plan ahead in regards to the fastening techniques. You talk about using the buckles for the sides but you never mention or show how the front and back are connected across the shoulders. Is this another buckle and strap? Is it a snap? Do you connect the collar pieces together at all?

      So the thing about armor is... and I need to make a PSA about this, is that armor is an exoskeleton... it's not a tailored fit jacket or (bra for that matter). It's an outer shell that doesn't necessarily need to form to your body so long as the scaling and the buckle straps are adjusted accordingly to at least fit around you.

My at least first question is; using a sharpy, doesn't that bleed into the rest of the leather? I'm a beginner, and doing what I have to do to cure my ignorance... lol. Is it easier for you to see the sharpy instead of a pencil?

    question on fit.. Can you wear the complete project and spray the leather with a water bottle as you wear it during the so-called break in period?

    • @Ashkahus
      @Ashkahus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dye and finish lock in a lot of the shape. So if you wanted spray it and try to wear it damp after the assembly stage (before all the dye and such), that would work.

    • @Princearmory
      @Princearmory  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, spraying it may help a little but it's more about forcing the leather to the shape you want and letting it develop a bit of give, or memory, while being worn.
