Just made this today for my family and it was such a hit! I lived in Dakar for 7 years, but I was always overwhelmed by how long it took to make Senegalese food, so I never cooked them. Finally mustered up the courage to do this, you made it look so easy and it was. Thank you!
As a Chinese girl in Germany I never actually thought of trying out Africam food until one of my friends recommended me your channel and now I‘m in love! This is so so tasty and good! Thank you for uploading! ♥️♥️
Just found your channel; thank you so much! I am from Congo (residing in North Michigan-US). I grew up eating this and had been craving for African foods. So I have been on a TH-cam marathon finding Senegalese and Nigerian meals. I am in fact marinating this for tomorrow 😍 I am a happy girl!!
It's fascinating how similiar this is to Filipino Adobo. It's even more fascinating to me (personally) that my 82-year-old black grandma used to make something extremely similar (she'd actually use Turkey wings instead of chicken) that we'd eat with rice.
Le yassa est un plat qui vient du sud du sénégal, Ziguinchor tu as sauté une partie : juste la grillade😊... yassa signifie griller en créole...sinon félicitation et bonne continuation 😊
Do not use apple cider vinegar in yassa. We do not put it in our yassa in Senegal. Use use lemon 🍋 juice. Buy the fresh lemons and squeeze them. Use about 4 lemons
OMG, I came here to remember my visit to Senegal. I had the best yassa viande the very first day we got there and then it was never as good as the first time. I miss it so much.
The oil was already dark because of chicken residues. That’s why she got the brown colour. Be rest assured, it doesn’t change the taste of it, quite the contrary! 😉
I remember this dish from many years ago. But I don’t think it had the depth of flavors you created in this classic dish. Can’t wait to make this version! Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing 🥰
Merci beaucoup pour la recette, j'essaie toute la cuisine du monde et parmi celle du Sénégal, j'adore cette recette et je vais l'essayer de ta façon, merci encore chef. Gros bisous de la France
Apprenez deja a utiler vos couteaux ! Vous etes un tres mauvais exemple rien qu a la position de vos doigts en decoupant des rondellesd oignons et ecraser les gousses d ails pareil ....risque de coupure grave! Vos abonnés peuvent vous imitez et se blesser!!!
In just 7 minutes with much onions and chicken definitely worth giving a shot.
It's really worth it.

Aww...thanks David. I will come back with the voice in the next video. I just tried to take a little break to avoid burn out.
My ex from Senegal use to make this instead of ginger powder used curry…omg so good
Yassa should not have curry or ginger powder.

Good Day! Please indicate the quantity of Lemon juice and the Apple cider vinegar you have used. Thank you!

Looks absolutely delicious! I made mine slightly different. I added carrots in the sauce and made egg plant, with zucchini as a side dish.
OMG, I came here to remember my visit to Senegal. I had the best yassa viande the very first day we got there and then it was never as good as the first time. I miss it so much.
I made this recipe, unfortunately the apple cidar vinegar was tooo strong. I saved the dish by adding potatoes and carrots.
Looks amazing! But please learn how to cut correctly you are going to chop a finger off!!
Hello Lola! I am new to Senegalese food. Is there a reason why your yassa looks brown while in the other recipes it looks yellow?
The oil was already dark because of chicken residues. That’s why she got the brown colour. Be rest assured, it doesn’t change the taste of it, quite the contrary! 😉
