I appreciate your video. I have several Blue Heron trespassers and I have been searching for a good solution. My dogs do not even bother chasing them because they just fly to the other side of the pond to continue fishing.
I see you have a lot of algae in your pond.....i use Propeller it keeps it clean and grass carp.........When you use the dye.......How does the rain effect it as far as changing the coloration?
I have grass carp as well. I also use sonar to keep my duckweed under control. Rain dilutes the color. I tend to over dye. That way i can get 2 or 3 months out of it.
Cool info ,but is it natural ? And will it go to ground water ? Can't you just copy nature better with free material from nature? Put something in there to eat the algae or weeds you don't want . So you don't have to buy dye . There has to be other ways . Look into what other countries do . Some pretty ingenious ideas
I have done a lot of research on this. Pond Dye is one of the simplest solutions. It is not natural. I will have several more pond videos coming out this month. But i will say, I tried everything. From carp, to tilapia. Natural fixes did not do the trick. They may, now that I have my algae under control.

That is what mine do lol. the darker in color you go, the harder it is for them to see through the reflection.
can you still see the fish swimming with this dye?
You can. Depending on the sun angle. There's times in the evening, where it almost hi lights them to the human eye
too busy ? how long does it take to pour a few gallons of liquid ? i can dump 5 gallons in about 20 seconds.
The pouring is the fast part. Get enough hours in the days to make it to the store, between work and kids sports schedules, the time slips away
great video thanks

Black or Blue?
What are you going for? Early season I like black to keep algae from growing. Blue is fine once you get to July
