Ross Lake Camps ~ What can I say my happy place for the past 20 years! Great outfitter, owners and opportunities. Ice fishing, spring brook trout fishing, lake trout fishing, bear, moose, grouse, deer are all excellent. The peace and enjoyment you get when you go there is amazing. Dan and Sharron have been making huge upgrades so families will be more comfortable. Do yourself a favor check it out great views, great place, wonderful adventures with top notch people
I love it up there. And Dan and Sharon were so accommodating. You get lost in beauty and peace of the north woods. Highly recommend.
Thanks for that. I have big hands too. Did same thing. Set for 2 at wrong yardage. Lost few bolts. They told me I could shoot out to 100 yards. Honestly of all the deer I have with a compound, only 2 were long shots. 38 yards and 42 yards. Every other deer was inside 20 yards, with compound and crossbow. I'm almost always in think areas. 2 reasons I got it. My eyes aren't what they use to be. With this scope it's easy for me to see the single pin lit up. And the built in range finder. I've missed some nice bucks miss judging the distance and not having to get range finder out because I walked up on them. My wife doesn't know either. Shhhhhhh!!!!
You'll find that you'll need to target practice any time you take it out. The scope is large and is easily knocked off center. Drives me insane
It gets knocked out of sight easily?
@@stevenhicks815 yeah. From like pulling it up the tree stand with a rope. The slightest bump against the tree seems to move the scope

So I bought one today 10/11/2024, and a friend told me after that the wind makes the braces loosen. Had to get new ones
My legs straight up bent
I’m getting one of these and believe me I’m anal and have watched many videos on this mower. This was the best one I have watched sir.
I Appreciate that. I have no dog in the fight. So I just review what i see and get
Thank you for making this video. How stable was it, please?
It was fairly stable. The legs are pretty wide. The floor did have the slightest squeak though. I ended up laying a rubber mat down on the grating to dampen the squaek
Im thinking Im too late to help. but those ae known for the shift cables rusting into position.
That's exactly what it was. I swapped out both shift cables and have had zero issues since
I know this is an older post but as far as shooting rails go, I use foam pipe insulation and I snugly wrap it in a spiral 2-3 layers thick. I have it on stands that have been in place for at least 2 years and have hardly any squirrel damage. I believe the tape being sticky detours them. Hope this helps 🤘🏻
Once you put the cover on, the shooting rails are almost useless. This product did not last the test of time
@@homesteadhero6276 you mean the whole stand together or just the rails?
@@ryanwatts2966 the whole stand. Wind bent the support arms 2 years in
@@homesteadhero6276 well I hope mine lasts longer lol..thanks for the feedback though!🤘🏻
Good review..What do you think about the 180SD or titan... If your hiking distance is not too far? Only one to two miles? I hunt on my own land in Germany and i´m searching for the most comfortable seat, for rifle and shotgun hunting.
I have not experienced those. I know my first climber was like 30 pounds and it was just a back breaker. I would assume anything summit would have a similar seat. I just needed the big boy cause I'm fat lol
Black or Blue?
What are you going for? Early season I like black to keep algae from growing. Blue is fine once you get to July
As one of the guys on the trip. It was top-notch. I'm thinking about putting in for moose and plan on using this outfitter again. Great video B!

Over seed wheat or rye a month after planting, im doing a mix of wheat, rye over mine incase they don't take to the brassica. Its my first yr also and im not sure they will slay mine either! But this way there is diversity! And i added clover to but it won't be much this yr
I started a new chicory plot which really doing well. I just over added with wheat for the later months
Stupid intro!
I like it 🤷♂️
Machine is rated at 13mph forward
What causes belt slip? I have a 2460 if push to hard she slips
Is the belt tight enough?
can you still see the fish swimming with this dye?
You can. Depending on the sun angle. There's times in the evening, where it almost hi lights them to the human eye
Those stripes are beautiful indeed!
Thank you
Thanks for the review. I have had loads of flagship zero turns from many different manufacturers. Many of those had Kawi motors and my last two flagships (Ferris and now Stihl) have had the huge Vanguard motors and I think the Vanguards arr the best motors ever made.
I've had no issues out of the vanguard so far. I just have a tried and true relationship with the kawasaki
I don’t think I ever noticed they make them with the chute and controls on the left side. Where did you find that?
I am also in Ohio with a 3/8 acre pond that is covered in duckweed, except for around the aerator. This is the first I've heard of fluridone. I may give it a try. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
It's the only thing I've found to be effective. You may need 2 gallons for your first application
Nice 3 part video which one would you choose Excalibur or turf tiger?
Excalibur and it isn't even close
Where do you buy ut from
If you Google it, there's a place in Washington. I can't remember the name, something forestry. They sale it 70 dollars cheaper than any where else
Love this
Just order ZXT 72" 40hp Be here next week
I'm on 77 hours and absolutely love this machine. I can mow at 16mph. And it's ungodly comfortable
@@homesteadhero6276 How did you accomplish that > Wright rates it ay 13mph
"Glyphosate" not "Glysophate" :)
🤷♂️ lol
Totally agree on the Kawasaki engines. Never one problem between two ExMarks with them. Will be looking to replace my mower in 2-3 years and am researching now, among them Wright, Scag, and maybe Ferris (biggest dealer near me is big on Ferris). That was the most frank and critically honest review I've seen in months. Thank you!
I tried the scag turf tiger 2 and hated everything about it. I don't have a ferris dealer local, that would let me demo one. I consider these things the same as cars. If I'm going to thousands, I want to drive and cut with it first. I ended up buying the wright mower and absolutely love it. It's the comfort for me. No matter what speed I go, it's a smooth ride. Cuts great and stripes better than any mower I've tried. Which is saying something, because the dixie chopper can lay a stripe.
Dude!!! Your video saved my life! I have a magnum 2250 r 50 inch, and my blades didn't seem to have full power when under load. I just needed to move my engine back just to get that little snug feel on my drivebelt
Good. I learned that lesson the hard way lol
Thinking of buying one of these.so the motor adjust belt tension?
I'm a dumbass commenting before the end.my bad.great info.ty
Nice mower.
Thanks 👍
great video thanks
Might want to check a bit before you make a statement about lack of longevity. Bad Bou started building mowers in 2002. 22 years ago.!
It's just my concern. The video literally states, I don't know 🤷♂️
I'm with you. I prefer Kawasaki. I was recently told by an actual engineer (not a sales rep) I had a chance to spend some time with and talk to at one of the big brands that when they were designing one of their new models, they tested both the Kaw 38.5 efi and the VG 40 efi on a dyno and the Kaw consistently hit its rating but the VG gave between 32 to 34 hp per run on the dyno .
Fully believe it
GO BACK AND GET A DIXIE HACKER, B&S IS JUST THAT, THAT'S WHY THEY ARE USING A VANGUARD, WHEN A KAWALSKI GET TO 2000 HOURS TOSS IT, YOU CAN'T KEEP UP WITH THE PARTS AFTER 2K... LIKE YOUR WRIGHT, IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT...
How did the pumpkins turn out?
Never grew. The deer ate them as soon as the vines sprouted
Eric and his crew are great people I brought my kids for years there they have fun there. Sad he no longer owns it and is selling it .
Extremely sad. What was a super nice weekend and affordable hunt, it's now 10k dollar deer hunts. Absurd.
Nice mower
Thanks 👍
What are u lookin at lol
I never know
Thought that was a bunny on the ground😮
What state is this at ?
Ohio
Thanks for the review!
My pleasure!
so during the truing when you had to move the dot you just used the arrows on top?
Yes
@@homesteadhero6276 thanks
Burris could Have did a whole lot better on that scope for the price it's just junk never thought i would be disappointed by Burris but they to fix the problems fast are quite selling junk
I like it. But I will say it EATS through batteries.
On my new ( purchased on 28 August 2023 / now 15.6 hours ) ZXT 72 61G8 / sn: 161469LF : I just had my dealership: D & J Equipment, Inc in Longwood, FL, upgrade my mower to the Wright part #72410104 " Tweel Wheel Rear Tires." 🤠 OH YEA !👍
I don't like the twills. Idk why. They just look odd to me. Like we moved the rap game to grass cutting 🤣🤣🤣
Yep, fellow fatty here, this is the stand I bought waiting for it to show up in the mail... solid video, helpful. I look forward to sleeping in mine, too. Haha!
I've slept in mine twice this year already. I absolutely love it
Great information and demonstration…….Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Everyone save you money and time... this scope is a pos!!!!!
You didn't like it?
@homesteadhero6276 id love to love it .. but iv fought it for 100s of rounds... now waiting 5 to 6 weeks for it to get returned . . Not real happy with mine
Got it back faster than expected which was great... but guess what.... did the same thing I returned it for... I can throw my hawk scope on and shoot clock hands... so now it's on its way back for the 2nd time... let's hope for the best... not real pleased right now
Explain why u like Kawasaki versus Vanguard
Honestly. I can't. I've had both motors. I've never experienced problems out of my kawasaki. Years and years of abuse. Just kept going. This is my first vanguard. I've had issues out of smaller Briggs. But this is my first big Briggs. So we'll see how she holds up as the years go
That reserve sounds like it's a Canned Hunting preserve, which is where animals are placed in a confined area with nowhere to run or escape to, and are able to be easily picked off by hunters, not to mention the animals are somewhat tame, unlike wild animals that are very skittish.
I wouldn't say they "placed". They live on the 72 acres or whatever it is. But, they are rather tame and visit areas of feeding.
