Our township does mosquito abatement (part of taxes) and we call them to treat the pond and our wetlands. There's tablets and granulars that kill the larvae.
@@NaterTater do it man you have the money you have the massive pond just need a ski and some jumps, would be so narley , iam going to subscribe just incase you do 🍻
@@quandaryhomestead7537 thanks. I can't take credit for building it. Previous owners had it built and planted all the beautiful trees lining the perimeter a few decades ago.
Mine is .55 acres and one container is all I need but i do keep it dyed so its never "dye free" which helps probably. A 3/4 acre pond that is deep and no dye would need more. How deep is yours?
@@NaterTater mine is so similar to yours...average about 8ft with 12 ft being the deepest then tapered to the shore. Of course everything depends on what is happening in your pond. My experience, more is better.
Nice docking 👍🏿
I really like the evergreens around the pond. What species are those?
@Jody_VE5SAR it's a mix of blue spruce, various pines and a few others. It is nice!
@@NaterTater Definitely! Such a neat and defining edge to the shoreline.
Awesome pond!! Do you have any advice for preventing mosquitoes breeding? Does the dye help that at all?

Are you using a liner or clay bottom?
I have the "joy" of lots of clay soil naturally here so no artificial liner, just the clay.
@@NaterTater Your pond looks amazing. Thank you for the feedback.
