A very enthusiastic video! I deeply appreciate it. I'm not too big into romance, let alone fantasy. But it sounded like the book was very entertaining and fun, which perhaps I should read more of those. Though Kant is a rather fun guy despite himself, lol; I cracked up reading his Critiques. No, but seriously, I think it's best to simply just relax and enjoy a book; no need to analyze, no need to pore over. I am reading a fantasy novel right now: The Gormenghast Trilogy. One of those great fantasy classics. It is breathtaking in visuals and atmosphere: the living, breathing walls of Gormenghast (the castle). But I do sometimes feel it's a bit overwritten. Still, I'm enjoying it. I think I need to read a book written sometime in this century, lol; but I dunno, usually it's hard to connect with these more "progressive" ways of thinking. I feel like I was born in the wrong time, lol, as cliche as that sounds. Old soul? Perhaps. Anyways, have a great day, and God bless.
Hi totally hear you! You do sound like an old soul. It is difficult to read or watch something and not feel as though you are connecting with it. I’m glad you are enjoying the Gormenghast Trilogy, even if it is a bit overwritten haha if you ever do pick up a modern fantasy, please do let me know what you think! I hope you have a beautiful day
@@mckenziekateDefinitely! And if you have any recommendations, I'd surely like to hear them. Not too many people around me who want to discuss books, so I'll take whatever discussion I can get. The deep south you find a lot of hee-hawing and trucks, not a lot of conversations about Leibniz (go figure) lol; but they're good people mostly. But we really need more bookstores!!!
@@scoutdarpy4465 haha! That is a funny picture you are painting but yes I understand! I haven’t yet read “the name of the wind” by Patrick rothfus , but I hear that that is a beautiful modern, philosophical leaning fantasy. However, since the trilogy is not finished (and hasn’t been for years and years!) I hesitate to pick it up. I DID, however, recently pick up “the first binding” (author name eludes me at the moment) and I hear that reads much the same. I’ll let u know how I get on with it once I start reading!
@@mckenziekate Sounds like a plan. I might just pick up the 'First Binding' myself. I looked it up on Google, read some reviews, examined an excerpt. It could very well be up my alley. I've heard of Patrick Rothfuss quite often in the fantasy community. Usually I like looking at interviews of, might I say, celebrities that are so idealized in the public consensus. He seems like an alright dude, perhaps a bit rough around the edges. Of course, these are just assumptions; but I get this sense that he's scraping for something he can't quite get at, as most artists will often do. But there are some things that even the greatest of them cannot see.
looooved the serpent and the wings of night but the ashes and star cursed king kinda let me down! I immediately pre ordered Iron Flame too lol cannot wait.
I’m sorry to hear that the star cursed king let u down! I am still reading it and can also say that I don’t love it as much as the first book but I am still very much so enjoying it. Lolol can’t wait for iron flame hahah

@@scoutdarpy4465 I love the way you just said that! ✨ so beautifully put. Pretension without wisdom.

It was good. But it was also bad. Didn’t like Violet at all.
I agree with this sentiment . And yes, violet Was rather a ridiculous and bland character
