- Cleaning the Honeywell F300 Electronic Air Cleaner is essential to maintain its efficiency and performance. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:
What You'll Need:
• Soft cloth or sponge
• Mild detergent or cleaner suitable for electronics
• Warm water or hose bib
• Vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment
• Bucket or basin (optional)
Step-by-Step Cleaning Process:
1. Turn Off Power:
o Ensure the air cleaner is turned off at the switch or unplug it from the electrical outlet to avoid any risk of electric shock.
2. Remove the Access Door:
Take Out the Filter:
o Carefully remove both of the pre-filter, which captures larger particles before they reach the electronic filter. Set it aside for cleaning.
o Remove both the power cells out of the housing
3. Vacuum the Electrostatic Filters:
o Use a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment to gently remove dust and debris from the electronic cells. Make sure to vacuum both sides. Be gentle to avoid damaging the cells.
o You can use air pressure
o You can use wat but no cleaners.
4. Rinse the Cells:
o If applicable, rinse the cells under running water. Ensure you completely remove any soap residue. Lay them down on a clean surface to air dry.
5. Clean the Pre-Filter:
o Wash the pre-filter with warm water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before reinserting.
o Use very lightweight water pressure, and light air pressure if you blow out the pr-filters
6. Reassemble the Air Cleaner:
o Once everything is dry, carefully reinsert the power cells and the pre-filter back into the unit. Make sure everything is aligned properly.
7. Close the Access Door:
8. Restore Power:
o Either turn the power switch back on or plug the unit back into the electrical outlet and turn it on.
Additional Tips:
• Frequency of Cleaning: Clean the filters every 1-3 months, depending on usage and air quality.
• Visual Check: Regularly inspect the filters for excessive buildup or damage and replace them as needed.
