How to Clean the AccuClean Electronic Air Cleaner
Cleaning your AccuClean electronic air cleaner is essential for maintaining its efficiency. Follow these steps to ensure a thorough cleaning:
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Unplug the Power Wire:
o Safety first! Always unplug the unit before starting any cleaning.
2. Remove the Door:
o Open and carefully remove the access door of the air cleaner.
3. Take Out the Filters in Order:
o Remove the components in this sequence:
 Skinny Pre-Filter: Carefully slide it out.
 Medium-Sized part, Power Cell: Next, remove this component.
 Two Large Collection Cells: Finally, remove both of the larger collection cells.
4. Clean the Pre-Filter:
o Option 1: Use a vacuum to clean off dust and debris.
o Option 2: Gently blow off the filter with light air pressure or, if preferred, hose it off (ensure it’s thoroughly dry before reinstallation).
5. Wipe the top of Power Cell:
o Using a clean cotton cloth, wipe the flat surfaces of the power cell to remove any accumulated dust.
6. Clean the Metal Probe:
o Use a piece of Styrofoam to gently clean the tip of each metal probe located in the middle of each hole.
o Important: Avoid using water or any chemical cleaners on this component.
7. Clean the Collection Cells:
o Vacuuming: Vacuum the collection cells from both sides to remove debris.
o Blowing Out: Alternatively, use medium-pressure air to blow the cells out. Note: Do not use water or chemicals.
8. Reassemble in the Correct Order:
o Replace the components in this specific order:
 Large - Collection Cells
 Medium - Power Cell
 Skinny - Pre-Filter
o Ensure the arrow on each part is pointing towards the heating equipment.
9. Reattach the Door:
o Securely put the door back on the air cleaner.
10. Reconnect Power:
o Plug the power cord back into the outlet.
11. Reset the Unit:
o Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds to restore operational settings.
Tips:
• Perform this cleaning once the orange colors appear or as needed, to keep your air cleaner functioning optimally. If the red LED is present you are very due for a cleaning.
• Always handle components gently to avoid damage.
