Fasting played a important part in bringing me from Protestantism into Catholicism.

Sin of negligence, 😏 O Lord! How much we need your Grace, because on our own this path to holiness is very very hard. Mama Mary, full of Grace, grant for us the virtues of mortification and fasting.

All the Church's old rules were so wise - 6 weeks to form a habit, 6 weeks of Lent.
Thank you for this good teaching Father.

I agree. The old ways are the best ways.

@@GrislyAtoms12 is it true that when you fast and pray, God answers prayers? Thank you kindly God bless. 💫💫💫

@@annabertuna1805 I think it is more complicated than that. But I do know one thing: if you DON'T pray, then there will be no answers to prayers :)

The fasting testimonies from Medjagorjie inspired me to start fasting daily except Sunday and Solemnities. I eat one meal a day and bread and water on Friday. This is miraculous for me!!! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Just do it.

I love that he speaks not only of developing the Virtue, but corrupting the Vice! I also really like the reference to the Natural Law aspects of Virtue.

Amen I started fastimg on every Friday and it has helped my prayer and spiritual life. I hope to expand that to every Friday and Wednesday and a greater abstinence during these fasts🙏

We need to pray and fast regularly to enable Jesus Christ Bless You and take control of us Body and Soul.

🌹⚜️♥️ We’ve learned that once lent is over there are several smaller medieval lents ( for example Michaelmas lent 15th August - 29th September) whereby you take a more lenient form of lent. So that you don’t suddenly gorge and grow lazy in the spiritual Warefare… beautiful Catholic Religion!⚜️♥️🌹

I've heard of the Michaelmas Ember Days (Fr. R talks about Ember Days in this video), but I didn't know there was a mini Lent. The only mini Lent I've heard of is Advent, which I try to observe.

Fasting has so many benefits for mind and body. And after a long fast, the first food you eat is outrageously delicious.
How did you get my picture at 4:33?
