Why not aqua fence around the entire city and avoid all damage. Instead of protecting buildings that no one can get to? Seems like it would be less exigencies for the national guard to fence if the whole city than to rebuild it. Just math though.

@@lykel3520 they mentioned the catwalks. That's the only way you can have an open entrance when expecting 10-15ft water all around. Worst comes to the worst, someone can jump over the wall, since the water will be within reach of the top of the wall, and an individual's weight wouldn't collapse the wall section due to the incredible weight of water holding it in place. Smart design.
I'm praying for all the patients and medical personnel that this holds and the building stands, no lives lost. Best wishes from accross the country.

I watched water bend a connex around a telephone pole like it was made of tin foil. If those panels aren't ripped up in 30 mins I'll be very very impressed.

They absolutely can evacuate. I’m a nurse in Orlando and our hospitals receive patients from evacuated areas during approaching storms. I’m frankly amazed they aren’t evacuating.

Sure, some hospitals sometimes evacuate. But being a nurse in Orlando does not mean you know a single thing about the complex situation of infrastructure, personnel, and emergency management that THIS hospital is currently going through with THIS storm. As the region’s only level 1 trauma center, I’m pretty sure they have teams of very qualified people making the difficult decisions about evacuation and preparation.

Tampa General Hospital is an amazing hospital. I was a patient there many times between January 2014 and January 2019. I often had to stay for weeks at a time. I had 3 major life-saving bowel surgeries there because of my Crohn's disease. This hospital has a dedicated bowel specialty floor.
The doctors, nurses, and staff are incredible. My specialty doctors are all with USF/TGH. I highly recommend this hospital. ❤

I have a friends who live in Tampa. They left yesterday for Daytona, only to find evacuations were now happening all up the east coast. They had to return home. I’m praying and will know more in the morning.🙏🏻

Because it held up last just a week ago and I am praying it holds up again.... just yelling it to let them workers know I appreciate and grateful for the effort, hard work and compassion to build ad complete this project. I’ve been admitted numerous times to Tampa General and they’ve saved my life more than once. Great hospital but what I never did understand is why build it on an island? Makes it more vulnerable!

I have been praying for the past two days for each and everyone that is in those areas. I know that the praising and the prayers can change lots of things.
I hope it holds but no matter what, it is one amazing flood prevention product.
To those who invented it.
What can I say, you're rock stars for seeing the need and believing in your product knowing it will work.
It is not a failure if Milton's surge goes up to 15 feet and the fence is only ten.
It would be awful if that happens but for you it just means you need to invent a way to add height extensions without losing stability.
Good luck Tampa and those in Milton's path. We are all collectively either praying, sending out positive thoughts to the universe, or crossing all appendages we can cross. Whatever you need from those of us who cannot help tangibly. ❤
It’s simple. The taller it is the longer it needs to be on the bottom. It uses the waters weight against itself
I've seen miniature versions of these and they work very effectively. I hope that whatever comes that way, they're able to withstand. Hearts and prayers from NC.

I was a nurse and lived in Tampa for many years.
Over 40 years ago, there was a horrific hurricane that hit them. There was no aqua fence at that time.
Very critical, unmoveable ICU patients
were kept on the 4th floor with volunteered medical staff to brave out the hurricane.
Tampa Generals front electrical doors were jammed open. The hospital was FLOODED up to the SECOND FLOOR!! WEATHER VIDEO showed SHARKS SWIMMING IN and OUT OF THE HOSPITAL!!!
A movie was made about this- I don't remember the movies name.
Tampa General IS OFF THE BAY! It even has a large dock for the very wealthy to drive their yachts for medical care. Yes I've witnessed this.
