Joshua as you know, you designed my MasterWorks Dulceforte and had it shipped to me in Japan. This was the first song I learned, a kids tune masterfully reworked by you. This brings a ton of memories and inspires me to go back to this song and do better. What a brilliant piece of work. Thank you for doing it. Its awesome
It's great to hear from you, Michael! It was a blast designing your dulcimer, and I'm so glad you found this video inspirational. I very much appreciate you. Thanks for staying in touch! I'm working on a new solo project, so keep your eyes open for an announcement coming soon.
Thank you for playing the Japanese folk song "Sakura". Japan is finally returning to normalcy now that the COVID-19 restrictions are gone. I look forward to your visit to Japan, Joshua! Thank you very much.
@@JoshuaMessick the fair was great! I also went to the Lone Star State Dulcimer Festival recently and had a good time. I think I'll start taking my dulcimer a little more seriously.
Always a pleasure to watch your Dulcimer videos! I hope to one day be a fine owner of this instrument, but for now will carry on with my Marimba! Thanks for the beautiful piece!
Thanks for watching! Keep up the great work with the Marimba. That is a fascinating instrument. When the day arrives for you to be a hammered dulcimer owner, you're welcome to reach out to me.
Its all so good! Very dramatic playing! I've been listening to hammered dulcimer for a good 6 months, funny, but its the first time 1 see and hear you! At least you say where you are. Ill listen to more. Can I just ask you if you know "Evan plays the hammered dulcimer"? What country is he in? Ive been trying to guess for months and he won't say. He never says much at all. I'd love to surprise him and come up with the right country!😊 Can I
Did you ever played a piece in phrigian major, or a full blown blues piece, or Hendrix? I amazed by this instrument and want to see what it capable of, and going to watch all your videos!
It’s fully chromatic, so it’s theoretically capable of anything. However, there are certain keys and modes that are idiomatic and sound more fluid. I’ve definitely used chromaticism in my music. Thanks for listening, and I’m glad you enjoy it!
I have been a huge fan of the Hammered Dulcimer from the age of 15,I am 65 now. How beautiful your music is.
Thank you, Bonnie!
