Haha genius giving the mic and leaving the girl there. I don't understand people who think it's OK to just like get up and stand on the stage. It's weird, and I seriously applaud Bo for being able to comedically come back from it. I guess people have the mindset at his shows that it's sort of like an informal concert or something, but to be honest Bo's performances are much more formal than that-he has everything thought out to a T and getting up onstage or shouting in the middle of the show is rude and weird. Would you do that in any other performance, i.e. dances, plays, etc? Nah. You'd be a giant asshole.
thoughtsfromahead I was at that show, in Chicago, and the sound doesn't cum through, but after she says her line, he yelled "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" It was amazing.
Yeah, seems like it's just something he has to do. It's a tough environment and if assholes learn they can shit all over you you're going to have a rough time. He's got to set an example. It's like middle school, or jail, but then I repeat myself.
+Willow Osbourne Heckling is to interrupt (a public speaker) with derisive or aggressive comments or abuse. So the guy was heckling because he interrupted Bo's performance with his comment, although it may have been a compliment, it is still rude and disrespectful. I'm glad he did it though cause that was a funny-ass heckle XD.
When he grabs the microphone away from that girl, and comments on how it's usually harder to take something shaped like that away from such a girl is the best to me!
habib levi Thanks for that, I couldn't hear what he said at that moment and it really bugged me. Sorry to ask, but did you hear what the guy who stood up (at the end) said when Bo asked if he had to go to the bathroom?
I have to drink so you'll be funnier! and Bo responded that he understood that tactic because it's what girls have to do in order to fuck you! Pretty funny, and he came up with that pretty quick!
Jesus Christ I had no idea he had to put up with this many heckles. He's such a cool kid. Why would you heckle a kid? Love Bo, he has real witt and balls.
At 2:28 Bo should have said, "Bentley? Clearly your parents named you after what they wanted but couldn't afford." Then when the crowd goes OHHHH he should have said, "relax guys, i was just joking, if his parents actually did that then his name would have been abortion."
I can't believe people are actually criticising him in the comments. You can tell by how the audience is reacting that he is definitely in the right. Heckling is truly the lowest form of wit.
I loved all of this but the last one, you never, ever, ever, put someone on the spot and ask them why they are getting up to leave. that is just inviting a mood ruiner like "I just got a call, my wifes been in a car accident" or "I have a colostomy bag that I need to empty or I could get a sepsis infection" or "I have prostate cancer, I have to go to the bathroom".
+higbey the demon I don't think he would've done that if that guy hadn't been heckling him the whole show.I think he was pretty much done with that guy because he'd been yelling at him the whole time.
i hate it when people tell comedians, or anyone on stage really, to just ignore the hecklers, or when people shit on bo (or anyone else) for reacting like this. like it's their fucking show, you know damn well. you paid to sit down and watch them do their shit, and so did the hundreds of people around you. don't interpret them because that's fucking rude, whether you're saying something positive or not. it's literally that simple wow
On the other hand, when it comes to a musical concert, people will absolutely refuse to shut up no matter how serious or intimate it is. I'm not saying you're wrong, in fact I think you're right, but people are assholes in general and saying "it's that simple" doesn't really help.
I was once at one of his shows in Ohio, someone shouted O-H from the crowd and he stopped and said "what?" And he came up to the front of the stage and said something along the lines of okay lets do it again and he shouted O-H and when we shouted back I-O he went on a great rant about us being conformists and said "It's like a Sesame Street fever dream in here". I always thought that was really great for right on the spot.
+Joseph Walker lol not really, the definition of heckler isn't very subjective. The only opinion I expressed would be that walking out of a show does not constitute heckling, do you disagree?
Joseph Walker Ugh dude, why bother starting something with no intention of seeing it through? Catch you later half-ass, don't bother responding unless you have a point. Just to be perfectly clear though the opinion I expressed is that walking out of a show does not constitute heckling. That is what you are so sheepishly writing off. Seems like a pretty common sense 'opinion' to me...
Joseph Walker LOL! You're like the guy who claims they never received a text. It's 2016, those excuses don't work anymore lol. And being on a mobile is irrelevant; If you're unable to read this, it's entirely user error. But, I'm actually quite sure you are reading these, 'cuz you just became salty AF out of nowhere ;P You don't seem like the kind to fly off the handle like that without even realizing you're being provoked. Telling someone they're wrong means next to nothing if you don't back it up and explain why... You're trying to claim that walking out of a show counts as heckling; I hope one day you can go reread this conversation from the top and understand how absurd you have been this entire time.
For this reason I'm actually glad he left live shows. He works really hard to plan and time every single second of his shows. So when people disrespect him like that it throws him off, especially when he already has so much anxiety to begin with which makes it hard for him to improvise. Imagine disrespecting such a multi faceted generational talent just because you think it's funny to rag on a kid
I dont think it's because they think it's funny to heckle him, it's more for the 15 seconds of fame it's going to get them. That, and attention from Bo.
Yeah, 6 months later, tours the world, has a special on netflix, gets plenty of shows and I'm sure money, I'd say he's quite famous. You've predicted wrong my good sir :)
"I like your shirt!" "Thanks bro! What a weird, timid heckle." Probably my favorite of the video. Sadly, his new special didn't even make me laugh as much as that one comeback..
If you're referring to the "yeah, really, shut the fUCK UP CINDY!!" section, that girl had been bothering him all night while (I believe) technology was fighting him.
Well comics at clubs expect it and they have slight rehearsed ways of dealing with it its 7/10ths improve 3/10ths already in their heads. You add alcohol to any show youll get the assholes in their somewhere
I was watching an interview where he was talking about having anxiety on stage, and people were arguing that because he wasn't shaking uncontrollably and panicking that it wasn't anxiety but not all anxiety presents itself with that kind of panic, like me for example, my anxiety presents itself as rage and anger and I get really short-fused and I truly believe that's why he snapped in some of these
I swear I saw this in what too, I was absolutely adamant and when I rewatched it it wasn't there. So I googled it and saw this clip, but I'm so glad someone else heard it in what because I really thought I was going mad.
+orbitingmars was ukulelepunks I was absolutely certain it was in there because it was the first time I'd heard of Bo, I saw it on netflix and LOVED that line. I had never seen anything else of his so there's no possible way I could've known he said it to a heckler. Yet somehow, it's not there. It's really strange.
I'm just waiting for the time someone get's up, Bo calls him out and asks him what he's doing and for the guy to say something like "Sorry, I just got a text that my mother had a stroke..."
I love when performers do this, like Patti Lupone stopping in the middle of a show because someone in the audience is on their phone or something. It's fucking rude to do this shit at a live show. Not only to the people around you who paid to be there, but to the people onstage who are literally pouring out their heart and soul to share their passion with you. Shut the fuck up and enjoy the show, that's why you're there.
I got mixed feelings about this. On one side it's great that he makes fun of them, but on the other he got too of the rails on some of them. This makes me understand a lot better We Think We Know You and Can't Handle This.

EVERY MOMENT CAN BE A COMEDIC MOMENT
thoughtsfromahead I was at that show, in Chicago, and the sound doesn't cum through, but after she says her line, he yelled "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
It was amazing.
+thoughtsfromahead agreed, his comedy is the most creative out there imo
LIKE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT GOES THROUGH THEIR HEADS
He should totally do the prolonged eye contact thing with the hecklers
that would be intimidating as all hell, fantastic idea
then suddenly scream FUCK YOU and spook them
Bo Burnham: part-time comedian, full time savage
"Oh you thought this through?" *Hands her the mic & walks off stage.*
Girl doesn't know wtf to do.
I died xD
Nice comment mr fritzl, shame about your crimes
My all time favorite bo-heckle is when the girl screams "I WANT YOUR BABIES!" and he just calmly says "I'm keeping them."
"You turn those broad shoulders around, sir!"
BRUH WHEN HE THREW THE GUYS HAT I DIED
+Deja Davis RIP
4:11 "it's hard to get one of these things shaped like this out of your hands" JESUS CHRIST BO
damn destroyed
hello bridge youtuber didnt know you had good taste
Cheetahh you're here??
Bridge yter with good taste cool
fancy seeing you here
"I feel like hip hop used to be a voice for the voiceless."
*screams*
"...voiceless..."
I'm sitting here at 2am spending my night watching multiple videos of Bo Burnham yelling at people.
+adubber97 night well spent.
Omg the time is 02:03 right now
4 am
Holy crap same
Yup same here....on a school night
The TH-cam comments section raised him well.
honestly Bo is scary
Your profile picture is scary.
***** Yup. Either way, hecklers should be treated with swift, unmerciful, spite.
+Holo The Hogan Johnson no it's not its lucario :)
Christian Gonzales Oh really? Well if that's a Pokémon, then why am I aroused?
Ummmm... Where did you get your profile pic? I want it for some research
Damn he gets vicious
The only way to treat someone who wont shut the fuck up.
Yeah, seems like it's just something he has to do. It's a tough environment and if assholes learn they can shit all over you you're going to have a rough time. He's got to set an example. It's like middle school, or jail, but then I repeat myself.
i love the fact that the girl who was just like,"i guess we'll sing a bo burnham song," knew he was going to be like," NO NO NO NO!"
"I like your shirt!" Was the best one XD
Which one was it?
3:13 to 3:30
+Willow Osbourne Heckling is to interrupt (a public speaker) with derisive or aggressive comments or abuse. So the guy was heckling because he interrupted Bo's performance with his comment, although it may have been a compliment, it is still rude and disrespectful. I'm glad he did it though cause that was a funny-ass heckle XD.
Willow Osbourne what the fuck does *Hackle* mean?
+Willow Osbourne The guy DID heckle/hackle Bo because he interrupted his performance on purpose. That is essentially what heckling/hackling is.
That "Oh your wearing a scarf indoors? say hello to 1998 for me" was sooo good, the was the one i laughed hardest at! very quick comeback.
Haha, amazing! Thanks again!
He said the same joke to Tayenne in the Aladdin theatre who wore a V-neck. Eh, kinda killed it for me.
"I guarantee you, I do it better." FUCKING SAVAGE I LOVE HIM.
omgggg I thought the same thing hahahahha
SORRY!
'I'M NOT'
In gonna say that for the rest of my life XD
His reactions to the hecklers in make happy were great to lol hes amazing
what!?
same.
What.*
"I LOVE YOU!"
"NO YOU FUCKING DON'T!"
+CoryphCorporal eeedrrrffgfd r 9llkkllllllllllllllllllllllpppppppp0000000000000000000, ? if so,
It sucks when you learn about how badly his panic attacks were affecting him about performing on stage and then you see all these clips
That's what I was thinking
SAYING THOUGH
You forgot the one where a person in the audience yelled "I love you!" and then Bo yelled "No you don't!"
Edit: just realized this was Make Happy.
Jesus Christ I had no idea he had to put up with this many heckles.
He's such a cool kid. Why would you heckle a kid? Love Bo, he has real witt and balls.
He genuinely is pissed of and it makes me mildly uncomfortable
Motormouth it's part of his character I assure you.
At 2:28 Bo should have said, "Bentley? Clearly your parents named you after what they wanted but couldn't afford." Then when the crowd goes OHHHH he should have said, "relax guys, i was just joking, if his parents actually did that then his name would have been abortion."
Pretty hard to come up with that kinda gold on the spot
Joe Therens indeed
that is the most perfect comeback.
If only that was original
OHHHHH!!!! 😂😂😂
What did the guy say he was doing? I couldn't hear.
+Joe Therens leaving to find something funnier
+Skywalker 2000 ahhhh thanks bruh
+Joe Therens I think he actually said "I'm going to getting a drink so it'd be funnier".
+higbey the demon I don't think he would've done that if that guy hadn't been heckling him the whole show.I think he was pretty much done with that guy because he'd been yelling at him the whole time.
Bo's next special should be entitled "Shut The Fuck Up."
i hate it when people tell comedians, or anyone on stage really, to just ignore the hecklers, or when people shit on bo (or anyone else) for reacting like this. like it's their fucking show, you know damn well. you paid to sit down and watch them do their shit, and so did the hundreds of people around you. don't interpret them because that's fucking rude, whether you're saying something positive or not. it's literally that simple wow
While I agree with all of that. *Interrupt
yeah like you wouldn't interrupt a theatre show right?
Let me just stop you right there. Yeah, that was a well-thought out response, but Beyonce had the best response ever.
Josiah Huskins Bravo! That was a beautiful comment!
On the other hand, when it comes to a musical concert, people will absolutely refuse to shut up no matter how serious or intimate it is. I'm not saying you're wrong, in fact I think you're right, but people are assholes in general and saying "it's that simple" doesn't really help.
"you turn those broad shoulders around sir"
My fav part is actually 7:19 - his reaction to the "getting a drink so you'll be funnier", and the crowd's reaction. Made me lol.
I've been struggling to make out what that guy said. Thank you, kind sir.
i JUST found my old comment from four years ago asking what his said. you answered an age old mystery, thank you.
@@adriannimara9689 indeed 👍
Went and saw him tonight in Salt Lake City, he actually kicked a guy out.. He said that's the first time he's done that on his tour
+MattAwesome ok
What did the guy do?
+Moongaze101 He was drunk and heckling Bo durning his act and Bo torn him to shreds before getting security to take him out.
"Shut the fuck up."
-Bo Burnham
Last one was straight up annihilation.
lolerz222 could you tell me what that man leaving said? I couldn't understand him
@@vsh1998 "im getting a drink to make you funnier"
@@joemama3259 that’s hilarious
"Scarf indoors? Say hi to 1988 for me."
Best. Burn. Ever.
Bo Burnhim
"Sorry." "I'm not." Bo Burnham, Professional Savage.
I was once at one of his shows in Ohio, someone shouted O-H from the crowd and he stopped and said "what?"
And he came up to the front of the stage and said something along the lines of okay lets do it again and he shouted O-H and when we shouted back I-O he went on a great rant about us being conformists and said "It's like a Sesame Street fever dream in here".
I always thought that was really great for right on the spot.
that girl who got on stage made me cringe so hard I threw my back out
The way he's able to let out his anger whilst roasting them in such a comedic manner is just another reason why I love the idea of this guy :P
He's so intense
"I WANT YOUR BABIES"
"No, I'm keeping them"
Lol, how dare someone leave your show. That last guy wasn't heckling and Bo invited that lovely burn.
+Joseph Walker Again, not a heckler. He was invited to talk, by Bo. For the crime of walking out of the room no less.
Joseph Walker Uhm... nowhere in this conversation did I say the words "To just checkout...."
Lol!
This guy is WAY ahead of his time. He will never be truly famous, he is like the Tiny Tim of our generation.
Except the thing he is actually quite famous now.
Yeah, 6 months later, tours the world, has a special on netflix, gets plenty of shows and I'm sure money, I'd say he's quite famous. You've predicted wrong my good sir :)
Jackie McKenna I believe I read that his networth is in he millions, so tht's pretty decent hahahaha
Except that he is the opposite of tiny.
He's a fucking giant
Well this aged like fine wine
Bo Burnham? I think you meant Bo BURN 'EM.
Giving the girl the mic was inspired and inspiring
Bo is just magic, all of his rage get put into one phrase and it shuts them up XD
"I like your shirt!" "Thanks bro! What a weird, timid heckle." Probably my favorite of the video. Sadly, his new special didn't even make me laugh as much as that one comeback..
Holy shit I though what. was hilarious. The songs at-least were genius.
Ryan OKeeffe Just wasn't a fan. I watched it all the way through and can't say I'm in a hurry to watch any part of it again.
YourXboxClown Hey, everyone on three, say "Fuck you" to that guy's thumbnail, I almost broke my screen with that shit, alright? One, two, three.
Riley Whidden FUCK YOU (not you, to the guy)
Bo burnham:Shut up
Girl:I'm sorry
Bo burnham:I'm not
He reminds me of Ryan Reynolds the way he talks and reacts
I may not like his normal stand up but the way he deals with hecklers is hilarious
I did not realize he was so aggressive. Is that how most comics deal with it?
It's just his character and personality on stage, he wouldn't actually say that as himself.
Most comics aren't this aggressive but do respond to hecklers
you have to shut them up quickly
If you're referring to the "yeah, really, shut the fUCK UP CINDY!!" section, that girl had been bothering him all night while (I believe) technology was fighting him.
Bo spends about 3 years trying to perfect every show he does, so yeah... I'd get mad as well if someone tried to interrupt it
Someone brought a baby to the show and it started crying and he told the baby to fuck off. Gold.
bo is just fucking great
I like when comedians can make a joke out of it rather than go straight to default mad...still okay though lol.
Well Heckling is not (and shouldn't be ofcourse) part of ANY comedian's "material" which means it doesn't have to be funny..
Well comics at clubs expect it and they have slight rehearsed ways of dealing with it its 7/10ths improve 3/10ths already in their heads. You add alcohol to any show youll get the assholes in their somewhere
I can't ever tell if he's actually mad at the people or just fucking around. That's why I love him so much.
He actually does get mad. It messes up his performance so he has to think quick to keep the audience entertained.
Brenden Hubble I think he is mad but he just exaggerates his anger to make it seem like he doesn’t care and to ‘beat’ the heckler.
Love how he reacts and I love his rage and temper it's hilarious
I love how he can get away with all of this since he's a comedian omg xD
Imagine while talking to your friend and Bo just walks over to you like “what did you say, what did you say?” I’d have a small panic attack
Another reason why Bo is my hero.
I was watching an interview where he was talking about having anxiety on stage, and people were arguing that because he wasn't shaking uncontrollably and panicking that it wasn't anxiety but not all anxiety presents itself with that kind of panic, like me for example, my anxiety presents itself as rage and anger and I get really short-fused and I truly believe that's why he snapped in some of these
What’s so sad is that during the show he was performing at 18 is he said he was following his dream. I guess his dream wasn’t what he thought it was.
This makes me a little nervous.
didnt he put "your haircut's adequate!" in a joke in what.?? because if its based on that response then thats amazing
TaylorLouiseBell yep. I'll probs rewatch what. again just to see if it really isnt in there haha
People: why did Bo stop doing live comedy 😭
People:
you can tell the final heckler actually got him pretty good, haha. bo is incredible.
Bo: shut up!
Girl: I'm sorry
Bo: what?
Girl: I'm sorry!!
Bo: I'm not.
I'm just waiting for the time someone get's up, Bo calls him out and asks him what he's doing and for the guy to say something like "Sorry, I just got a text that my mother had a stroke..."
Yes!
he was heckling, he didn't call him out just because he left :P
I love when performers do this, like Patti Lupone stopping in the middle of a show because someone in the audience is on their phone or something. It's fucking rude to do this shit at a live show. Not only to the people around you who paid to be there, but to the people onstage who are literally pouring out their heart and soul to share their passion with you. Shut the fuck up and enjoy the show, that's why you're there.
this really hits different after Inside
When he got the hat and threw it, that killed me. Too funny XD
I'm procrastinating hi7
He is too incredibly smart and doesn't care what people think to heckle. He just rips people to shreds
I got mixed feelings about this. On one side it's great that he makes fun of them, but on the other he got too of the rails on some of them. This makes me understand a lot better We Think We Know You and Can't Handle This.
