Richard Chamberlain made a "Ken Doll" look like a moldy tomato!! Is there any wonder that young Teenagers swooned en masse over Televisions most handsome icon. Or any on the big screen as well. Naturally, behind that dazzling exterior, was a singing voice that would melt a Glacier!! A Double Whammy that elevated him to Mega Star stature. Really. only Elvis was a greater star than Chamberlain at his peak. Including his musical sound alike Pat Boone!! By the way I concur with the comments that Chamberlain was even more enjoyable to listen too than Pat Boone himself. A very soothing, gentle sound. Like a comforting hug. Soft and reassuring. Few if any, entertainers had such an array of gifts showered on them as George Richard Chamberlain. Or carried the burden of greatness with such style and grace.
It's probably only a rumor that the Ken Doll was modeled after Richard Chamberlain. Or Prince Philip in Disney's Sleeping Beauty as well. In reality, Televisions Doctor Kildare was even better looking than that!! How else can you explain a young man so Handsome no Artists rendering could do him justice? No Prince in a Fairy Tale was etched as beautifully, as George Richard Chamberlain was in reality. Little wonder young Teen Age girls and Matrons as well fell in love with MGM's Prince in Doctors Clothing. What made Chamberlain even more disarming was his innate modesty. It was always about his admirers. Never about him. No star ever carried himself with more dignity. That was his greatest attribute of all.
He is adorable, I'm in love with the young Richard and the gorgeous mature man that he is today!
