Oh my goodness - I was NOT ready for this one. Someone messaged me and told me about a new Sci Fi trailer to check out. I gave it a go because this channel covers horror, action, and scifi, but I thought it was a stretch because the Beatles were involved. WELL, I ended up in TEARS OMG.
This is why I stick to horror, people. I cannot handle these sort of things. LOL!
Have you heard of Yesterday yet? I think this movie is going to KILL IT in the theatres.
Synopsis: Yesterday is an upcoming 2019 British musical comedy film, directed by Danny Boyle, from a screenplay by Richard Curtis and a story by Jack Barth. It will star Himesh Patel, Lily James, Kate McKinnon, and Ed Sheeran. The film will be released on June 28, 2019, by Universal Pictures.

I saw the trailer with a big smile on my face. This is a great idea. It will bring in new younger fans as well.
I hope so. This movie is SO GOOD.
I think the point is , All these songs would be at the top of the charts if they were released for the first time in 2019. It introduces 18 year old's to the Beatles for maybe their first time. It also shows the song writing genius to a new generation and forever keeps the Beatles and song writing relevant to the generations there after. Haven't been to the movies in years. But I'm going to this one !!
I have a feeling a lot of people will be hitting the theatre for the first time in a long time. 🎈🎈

Dude, I think it would bring a younger audience than that. I’m 17 and grew up with the Beatles music along many others through my mother and father (and movies) and I know plenty of others my age and a little older (16-19) who love the Beatles and music in that style. It’s timeless music and I’m kinda glad that they’re re-branding it in such a way that would bring both fans for decades and bring in new fans for years to come. I can’t wait to watch this movie! :D

I love this guy's voice as well. I don't consider myself a huge Beatles fan but some of their songs are timeless and they were an amazing band!
I am one of those boomers of whom you speak, and you are absolutely right about me! I will be lining up for this on opening day... and might even see it more than once :-D It mixes two of my very favourite things: Beatles and alternate universes/timelines. Looks good!
I'm a big Beatles fan, and my older brother got into music back in the 60's because of the Beatles. He's still a singer, song writer today. I told him about this movie, and now both of us are going to go see it together, when it comes out at the end of June. The movie is a very creative idea...wish I had thought of it.

As a 65yr old who was 9 in '63 when the Beatles exploded into EVERYONES lives and stayed there,i went to see the movie the other night fully expecting to pick holes in it,but Danny Boyle (as usual) has directed yet another feel-good blockbuster and in parts i was filling up just remembering those great days in the 60's as each and every song brought memories flooding back,and in the cinema i saw it (packed) even the youngsters knew the words. and eventually,the audience was singing along,i suspect this will be repeated up and down the country (Great Britain of course)...heartwarming.
Thoroughly recommended even if only to introduce todays kids to REAL music.

I am a "BOOMER" born in 1947, so I was 17 years old in 1964 and a HUGE BEATLES FAN even NOW. I LOVE this movie, saw it 6 times in the theater and have it on DVD. PAUL McCARTNEY and RINGO Starr both saw "YESTERDAY" and LOVED it. Paul and his wife Nancy went to a movie theater (he wanted to see it with people, not in a private screening room), they sat in the last row. I HOPE you DID go and see it!
There was a sci-fi TV show back in the 80s called "Otherworld" where a family entered a different dimension. In one episode, the kids formed a band and played songs from our dimension, and they became rockstars. There's also a TV show called "Life on Mars" (actually, two versions: UK and US) where the lead gets run over and passes out. When he wakes up, he finds himself in the 70s.

@@VeraSweeneyReviews You can find Otherworld on TH-cam. It went for only eight episodes then they pulled the plug on it. Life on Mars is fantastic.
The UK one is, don't know about the US version. The UK one also had a "sequel" called Ashes to Ashes which is quite good as well

I saw it this past weekend and will definitely go see it again. I feel like I missed some of the words as much of the people are international or accents that are sometimes difficult to understand in the movie. It's not a big deal cause I loved the movie, just want to see it again, maybe I missed something. If you like the Beatles or love they're music like I do its a MUST see movie. The plot was different and VERY creative. Obviously fictional but that's OK, not all movies are believable. The acting was wonderful and believable and Jack's voice was beautiful another reason why I would see it again, to watch him sing again 👍 I melted in the first singing of Yesterday. Jack nailed it.

I wonder if you EVER saw "YESTEDAY" Vera, I know you won't SEE this, but I LOVED it and bought it on DVD and watch it whenever it is on TV, which has been quite often. I still CRY in parts of the movie when I watch it.

nuvigroovi, I literally did. I went to see it & loved it so much, I even bought the online copy. It arrived in my inbox 5 days ago & I have watched it at least 8x’s. It’s a feel good movie, great to watch when you’re feeling down. ❤️😊.

You are missing and even drowning out the intriguing and sometimes lovely subtleties of many scenes because you won't stop talking...just stay quiet please, focus on THE TRAILER, then give us your reaction afterwards. Your method might be okay for sci fi, action, horror, etc, but not for any movie with any subtlety at all.

I saw the movie, it was incredible! It also introduces young audiences back to the genius of the Beatles that most have probably only known through elevator music. It is hard nowadays for people to actually appreciate what an impact they had on both music and the thinking of a young generation back then. The documentary "The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years" gives an incredible story of their start and how they became a band where literally millions of fans went crazy all around the world.
Obviously, judging by your sweet reaction to the trailer, you should definitely go see this movie. : )

I don't know how it happens in this movie. It looks like he doesn't want to steal their music but is talked into it. I can see myself doing that but could I sleep well at night? Probably have a little hard time and maybe say at one point "that's all I got. Maybe even try to improve my own songs that I wrote. I can't call you a terrible person. lots of people have said the same thing. Anyway, I can't wait to see it. You should too.

Suppose you found yourself in a world without the Beatles... a world deprived of their work and its beauty and its culture altering power... a poorer world, right? Suppose you had the power to give some of that to the world? I think it would be criminal NOT to do it. He started by trying to give them all the credit... but no one believed him. So? I think that he HAD TO share what he could.
Hello Vera Sweeney. I'm Gary Sweeney from Liverpool in England. I have just watched your video from 2015 on your 9/11 experience and I wanted to comment but noticed you had disabled comments. I have watched so many videos on you tube about that terrible day, many have had me fighting back the tears. But from halfway through yours, I am not ashamed to say that I was in floods of tears and kept having to pause the video.
The emotion which came across in your account was so strong, I could almost touch it.
I don't know why you disabled comments, but I can guess that it may be due to horrible, nasty comments from people who don't believe anything about that day, that people didn't die, witnesses are lying, etc, etc, I've seen them all. Their crassness only confounds the pain and misery of survivors and victim's families.
When I first clicked on the video and saw you had my surname, I thought that we are likely related somewhere along the line, maybe through Irish ancestry, where many Sweeney's or O'Sweeney as it was originally, had come from. Following the potato famine in Ireland back in the 1800s, thousands of Irish came across the Irish sea and settled in Glasgow and Liverpool and we are the descendants.
Anyway, before I digress too much, I just really want to thank you for your heartfelt account of 9/11, and ignore the 'haters' and idiots of this world.
One piece of advice....don't talk during the trailer, wait until it's done.

Manju VK there is a reason - didn’t think anyone would catch that. My parents wedding song was something from the Beatles and now my father removed himself from my life. Haven’t spoken to him in years and years. So, I guess it hit me unexpectedly. Reminded me of their wedding and then a better time before things went so wrong. Beatles represent a better time.

Hi, I haven't seen the movie yet.The scene is in one of the trailers. Jack is a guest on a tv show and the host asks him if he can write a song on the spot. He starts to play " Something".

This is an amazing movie
I would both love and hate being in his situation. You would have money and fame , but it is not built upon anything you did. Talk about feeling unworthy , and then if you wanted to try to do original song you would have to live up to the reputation of the work of the past , songs written by the Beatles.

Yes as a long time fan who's been to Abbey road, the cavern. And penny lane....im longing to see real beatles but hey its better than whats out there now....and yes I'll be singing along in the theatre....
I've followed the Beatles from the beginning. I wore out multiple vinyl versions of their albums and now own their complete output on CD. In short, and I could make this a loooong story with lots of detail, I think I'm as big a fan as anyone commenting here today. And I can hardly contain my eagerness to see it. Even as a "thought problem" it is fascinating. What would the world have been like if there had never been the Beatles? What would happen if they and/or their music appeared in the world today? As for not wanting to hear anyone else do their music? "Yesterday" is the most covered song in recording history. Think of all the great musicians throughout history... what would concert goers hear if their songs were somehow unavailable? Only the "latest thing?" Can you say nope?And I think the Beatles themselves were flattered that so many others wanted to perform their songs. As for classical music? "Bolero" for example is sublime... and I love every performance of it I've ever seen or heard. I'm glad to have more than one version to appreciate. So give me the Beatles version of "Eleanor Rigby" but don't deprive me of Aretha Franklin's rendition of the same.

It'll play wonderfully. This director's last film had an Indian in the lead role, many other Indians in the cast, and it made tons of money all over the world, including the UK and the USA. It was nominated for ten Oscars and *it won eight of them*!
