    Thanks for sharing! I'm suscribing now :) Another way would be to find the angle you need to rotate your drawing (for me it measured 19° so I chose the outer angle which was 341°), rotated my viewport directly on layout using that angle, (the VP polyline is not restricted so you can edit it to match the rest of your drawing if you are a little obsessive like me :-) ) and then rotated my north sign with the same angle and voilá ;) my drawing in model is undisturbed and my layout is just like I needed it to be.

    thanks for the video. when i use option 2, when modifying the drawing in paper space it appears the entire page is rotated making it somewhat difficult to make changes to your drawing in paper space. i can easily go to model space to make changes but there are times i prefer to make changes in paper space. any help with this? thank u

    This was about the simplest explanation I have had. Everything else was so complex and unnecessary, it drove me nuts.

    I don't see the list of choices where it asks for what you want to select after the DV command. Currently using Autocad Civil 3D 2017. I can type in "all" as you show but I would like to see the list of choices as well, as it shows in your program.

    Thanks for this! Much better than Autodesk's knowledge base instructions, which instructed one to use VPROTATEASSOC command, which did not work for me.

    Ah... one note I figured out by experimentation. The angle entered is the absolute angle, not an adjustment. So, if you have a drawing already at 90 degrees, and you enter 90, it appears nothing happened. If you want the image to match what is in model space, enter 0 (zero) when prompted for a twist angle.

  • @ronberrype
    @ronberrype 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yeah, but how to you align it such that an object, such as a house wall, is aligned straight up and down?

    • @lizard7709
      @lizard7709 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ron, you can measure the angle between your wall and a horizontal line in the model space. Then when you get to the twist command in the tutorial you can enter the angle.

    Easier way is to rotate the north arrow associated to your viewport🤷🏻‍♀️ The image in your viewport will automatically follow the north arrow orientation.
