Very helpful video for beginners and not-so-expert AutoCad users, just starting to deal with viewports and printing. Well Done and keep it up, Brandon.
tip #6, if you want to be able to replicate a viewport size from another drawing I like to trace the viewport in paperspace, then "CHS" hit enter, then the viewport size is effectively in model space. This is useful when trying to reuse viewports from another drawing with similar sized items. then type "z" space, hold "crtl" + right click, select endpoint. then repeat the endpoint command to select the other side of the box and CAD will zoom into the viewport just like you had in the other drawing.
I watched so many videos related to viewport, but your way of teaching is so nice nd easy to understand, Now my all confusion was cleared. Thank you very much sir. 😇

thanks for everything. Because, i forget command of vport. I saw it in your video, I remembered it again. it was very important for a project I was working on. many many thanks for the video.
Thank you, it was very helpful! I sometimes need to create the PDF out of the drawing "Print - AutoCAD PDF......" and the viewports borders are visible. Didn`t learn yet how to avoid it.
Quick question Brandon. If I am drawing 1 to 1 scale in model space. How do it setup my viewports to a different scale ? Does it do it automatically? Once you set your scale in viewport? Or if you have a video explaining this that would be great. Thank you !
Glad you liked it! Great suggestion, I can definitely some tuesday tip videos on sheet sets in the future. I actually also have a mini course/tutorial on sheet sets available here: cadintentions.teachable.com/p/sheetsets Thanks for watching and for the suggestion! Cheers
thank you. Your videos have been very useful. I am having trouble with text scale. I use annotative text in model space and then try to make x2 viewports of the same drawing at a different scale. When i change the viewport scale the text moves location and doesnt fit. Any advice?
Thank you Brandon, I'm having the zoom extends problem in the viewport when I double-click inside and doesn't let me pan or zoom, with the polygon option I can fix it, greetings from Colombia
hello, Thank you for the video, very useful. i just have a question. If you have 2 or 3 viewports in a sheet and they are in different scales, how can we have all dimensions in same size in terms of text size? Thank you
Need a help. I have set my units in meters for drawing..but my layout is in inches automatically and not changing to meters..if i am settting the page as A4 the width should show 0.210 for DIST but it is showing in inches .
Hi Lyne, Thank you so much for watching and the comment/question! For my templates, they can be ordered here for instant download. They each come with Met/Imp versions and then depending on which package, many of the most common paper/sheet sizes for each Met/Imp along with a few different styles. Titleblocks: cadintentions.com/title-blocks-downloadable/ Thanks again and if you had any questions, just let me know! Cheers, Brandon
Hi Brandon, I have doubt When i place more than one view ports at a single layout at different scales, the dimension sizes also get varied ( I mean the arrow size and text size) respect to the scales. When i plot the Layout, is there any way to keep the dimensions and text sizes as same for the different scaled view ports.
I want the scale to be 1:50 so that when it's printed, it's at a scale of 1:50, but when i click on that scale in the viewport, the picture is tiny overall on the page. If I zoom it up so it's big again, the scale goes out again! How can i set it to 1:50, but still be able to blow it up on the page so you can see it clearly when its all printed? I can't find this answer everywhere I look.
The GMS that you use here is completely different softing than the one I use even though I'm using tNice tutorials exact software, why is tNice tutorials?

Also, not being able to hear your cough at 8:37 screwed with me. Cutting it off is like a sneeze that doesn’t come out. Frustrating. 😆
Hello, can we mirror the things inside the viewport without change it in model?
Need a help. I have set my units in meters for drawing..but my layout is in inches automatically and not changing to meters..if i am settting the page as A4 the width should show 0.210 for DIST but it is showing in inches .
Layout units can be changed/set and scaled in the page setup manager for the particular layout.

I CREATED A VIEW PORT IN MY LAYOUT HOWEVER THE BLACK BACKROUND IS ONLY IN THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER. AND NOT OVER MY WHOLE BOARDER. HOW DO I FIX IT
Great Video, Found just what I needed for doing custom views on model space. Thanks and keep up the good work!
What are ways not to print the viewport frame line?
Hi Brandon,
I have doubt
When i place more than one view ports at a single layout at different scales, the dimension sizes also get varied ( I mean the arrow size and text size) respect to the scales. When i plot the Layout, is there any way to keep the dimensions and text sizes as same for the different scaled view ports.
First copy plot and paste as block, then scale it, u will feel happy

I can't find this answer everywhere I look.
make sure that once you select your Scale in the viewport that you are locking your viewport
